We provide an efficient method for computing the maximum-likelihood mixed quantum state (with density matrix ρ) given a set of measurement outcomes in a complete orthonormal operator basis subject to Gaussian noise. Our method works by first changing basis yielding a candidate density matrix μ which may have nonphysical (negative) eigenvalues, and then finding the nearest physical state under the 2-norm. Our algorithm takes at worst O(d(4)) for the basis change plus O(d(3)) for finding ρ where d is the dimension of the quantum state. In the special case where the measurement basis is strings of Pauli operators, the basis change takes only O(d(3)) as well. The workhorse of the algorithm is a new linear-time method for finding the closest probability distribution (in Euclidean distance) to a set of real numbers summing to one.  相似文献

Even though carrot allergy is common in Europe, the amount of different allergens in carrots is still unknown due to a lack of methods for quantitative allergen measurements. The current study aimed at the development of quantitative ELISA tests for the known carrot allergens, namely Dau c 1.01, Dau c 1.02, and Dau c 4 in pure carrot extracts. Monoclonal antibodies targeting the major carrot allergen isoforms Dau c 1.01 and Dau c 1.02 were generated and combined in sandwich ELISA with rabbit antisera against Api g 1, the celery homologue of Dau c 1. A competitive ELISA for the carrot profilin Dau c 4 was based on a polyclonal rabbit antiserum. The three ELISA tests were allergen-specific and displayed detection limits between 0.4 and 6 ng allergen/ml of carrot extract. The mean coefficient of variation (CV) as a means of intraassay variability of the Dau c 1.01, Dau c 1.02 and Dau c 4 ELISA tests was 8.1%, 6.9%, and 11.9%, and the mean interassay CV 13.3%, 37.1% and 15.6%, respectively. Target recovery ranged between 93 and 113%. In conclusion, the specific, accurate and reproducible quantification of three important carrot allergens may help to identify less allergenic carrot varieties, as well as to standardize the amount of allergens in extracts used for carrot allergy diagnosis.  相似文献

Development of high figure-of-merit p-type transparent conducting oxides has become a global research goal. ZnM(2)(III)O(4) (M(III) = Co, Rh, Ir) spinels have been identified as potential p-type materials, with ZnIr(2)O(4) reported to be a transparent conducting oxide. In this article the geometry and electronic structure of ZnM(2)(III)O(4) are studied using the Perdew-Purke-Ernzerhof generalized gradient approximation (PBE-GGA) to density functional theory and a hybrid density functional, HSE06. The valence band features of all the spinels indicate that they are not conducive to high p-type ability, as there is insufficient dispersion at the valence band maxima. The trend of increasing band-gap as the atomic number of the M(III) cation increases, as postulated from ligand field theory, is not reproduced by either level of theory, and indeed is not seen experimentally in the literature. GGA underestimates the band-gaps of these materials, while HSE06 severely overestimates the band-gaps. The underestimation (overestimation) of the band-gaps by GGA (HSE06) and the reported transparency of ZnIr(2)O(4) is discussed.  相似文献

Desorption of carbon tetrachloride from beneath an amorphous solid water (ASW) overlayer is explored utilizing a combination of temperature programmed desorption and infrared spectroscopy. Otherwise inaccessible information about the dewetting and crystallization of ASW is revealed by monitoring desorption of the CCl(4) underlayer. The desorption maximum of CCl(4) on graphene occurs at ~140 K. When ASW wets the CCl(4) no desorption below 140 K is observed. However, the mobility of the water molecules increases with ASW deposition temperature, leading to a thermodynamically driven dewetting of water from the hydrophobic CCl(4) surface. This dewetting exposes some CCl(4) to the ambient environment, allowing unhindered desorption of CCl(4) below 140 K. When ASW completely covers the underlayer, desorption of CCl(4) is delayed until crystallization induced cracking of the ASW overlayer opens an escape path to the surface. The subsequent rapid episodic release of CCl(4) is termed a "molecular volcano". Reflection absorption infrared spectroscopy (RAIRS) measurements indicate that the onset and duration of the molecular volcano is directly controlled by the ASW crystallization kinetics.  相似文献

Chlorinated compounds are important environmental pollutants whose biodegradation may be limited by inefficient dechlorinating enzymes. Dictyostelium amoebae produce a chlorinated alkyl phenone called DIF which induces stalk cell differentiation during their multicellular development. Here we describe the identification of DIF dechlorinase. DIF dechlorinase is active when expressed in bacteria, and activity is lost from Dictyostelium cells when its gene, drcA, is knocked out. It has a K(m) for DIF of 88 nM and K(cat) of 6.7 s(-1). DrcA is related to glutathione S-transferases, but with a key asparagine-to-cysteine substitution in the catalytic pocket. When this change is reversed, the enzyme reverts to a glutathione S-transferase, thus suggesting a catalytic mechanism. DrcA offers new possibilities for the rational design of bioremediation strategies.  相似文献
