The paper discusses the design of a low cost Raman spectrometer. Single-walled nanotubes (SWNT) have been studied to demonstrate
the reach of such a system. We observe both the radial-breathing mode (RBM) and the tangential mode from the SWNT. The tube
diameters of the SWNT used in these experiments have been determined using RBM to be predominantly 1.4 and 1.6 nm. These are
consistent with the TEM images taken of the same sample. The new method of producing SWNT using Ni-Y catalyst in electric-arc
discharge method produces nanotubes with very small dispersion in diameter and high yields. The chirality of the SWNT can
be deduced from their radial breathing modes, and it suggests that they are metallic in nature.

Syntheses of several new 3,4‐dihydropyrimidinones (DHPMs) on sodium sulfate solid support have been reported. The microwave enhanced rapid synthesis of the title compounds yielded a good percentage of the DHPMs. The catalytic activity of indium triflate enables to prepare a wide range of DHPMs. Syntheses of 2‐hydroxyphenyl, 2‐hydroxy‐4‐methoxyphenyl pendant groups on DHPMs scaffold are advantages of the present method, which are rather prone towards cyclization and the presence of free hydroxyl groups on the phenyl ring is confirmed via D2O exchange study. The mechanism of the reaction is expected to proceed via absorption of substrates on the solid support followed by promotion of the reaction by In(OTf)3 coupled with microwave irradiation. 相似文献

Facile, three‐component domino reactions of readily available thioglycolic acid/ethyl thioglycolate, aromatic aldehydes, and malononitrile/ethyl cyanoacetate in aqueous potassium carbonate at room temperature afforded thiazolo[3,2‐a]pyridine derivatives chemoselectively in good to excellent yield. Time differential perturbed angular correlation measurements done on the 482 keV level of181Ta probe nuclei in well annealed reference foil samples ofα-ZrHf,α-TiHf andα-Hf indicate that all probe nuclei are defect free, substitutional and experience quadrupole frequencies characteristic of
these matrices. But mostly the ratio of the intensities of the harmonic components of the quadrupole frequency is never in
3:2:1, which is understood to be due to the selective orientation of microcrystallites brought out by the pre thermo-mechanical
treatments on the sample. This paper illustrates as to how texturing in general could cause ambiguities in the measurements
of the hyperfine interaction parameters of probe nuclei particularly in hcp foil samples with or without the association of

The loss of local dielectric integrity in ultrathin Al2O3 films grown by atomic layer deposition is investigated using conducting atomic force microscopy. I–V spectra acquired at different regions of the samples by constant and ramping voltage stress are analyzed for their pre- and post-breakdown signatures. Based on these observations, the thickness dependent dielectric reliability and failure mechanism are discussed. Our results show that remarkable enhancement in breakdown electric field as high as 130 MV/cm is observed for ultrathin films of thickness less than 1 nm. 相似文献
