Shear band spacing in Zr-based bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) under dynamic loads is found to vary with position and local strain rate in the indented region. To investigate the dependence of shear band evolution characteristics on local strain rate and normal stress, a micromechanical model based on momentum diffusion is proposed. The thermo-mechanical model takes into account the normal stress dependence of yield stress, the free volume theory and the associated viscosity change within the shear band region. Temperature rise is obtained from the balance between the heat diffusion to the adjacent regions from a shear band and the heat generation due to the accumulated plastic work in a shear band. The parametric study has revealed that thermal effects play a minor role when the critical shear displacement is below 10 nm (as in nanoindentation) but become significant when the shear displacement accumulated in a shear band is of the order of hundreds of nanometers (as in uniaxial compression and in dynamic indentations). Finally, it is found that the normal stress plays a crucial role in the deformation behavior of BMGs by not only decreasing the time for shear band formation but also increasing the temperature rise significantly.  相似文献

The horizon of ultrasound-assistance has been expanded to palladium-catalyzed distal C−H functionalization of arenes. Compared to thermal conditions, operationally simple ultrasound mediated distal C−H functionalization occurred with a shorter reaction time and enhanced reactivity of reactants to give superior yields with improved selectivity both in terms of meta:others and mono:di. A wide variety of meta-functionalizations such as olefination, alkylation, acetoxylation, allylation and cyanation were successfully carried out under ambient temperature.  相似文献

Oxidative transformations utilizing molecular oxygen (O2) as the stoichiometric oxidant are of paramount importance in organic synthesis from ecological and economical perspectives. Alcohol oxidation reactions that employ O2 are scarce in homogeneous catalysis and the efficacy of such systems has been constrained by limited substrate scope (most involve secondary alcohol oxidation) or practical factors, such as the need for an excess of base or an additive. Catalytic systems employing O2 as the “primary” oxidant, in the absence of any additive, are rare. A solution to this longstanding issue is offered by the development of an efficient ruthenium‐catalyzed oxidation protocol, which enables smooth oxidation of a wide variety of primary, as well as secondary benzylic, allylic, heterocyclic, and aliphatic, alcohols with molecular oxygen as the primary oxidant and without any base or hydrogen‐ or electron‐transfer agents. Most importantly, a high degree of selectivity during alcohol oxidation has been predicted for complex settings. Preliminary mechanistic studies including 18O labeling established the in situ formation of an oxo–ruthenium intermediate as the active catalytic species in the cycle and involvement of a two‐electron hydride transfer in the rate‐limiting step.  相似文献

This is the first report on the inventory of radionuclides produced in 1.4 GeV proton induced reaction on Lead–Bismuth Eutectic (LBE) targets. LBE targets of 6 mm diameter and 1 to 8 mm lengths were irradiated with 1.4 GeV protons. The radionuclides ranging from 7Be (53.12 days) to 207Po (5.8 h) were identified in the samples with the help of time resolved γ-ray spectroscopy. However, there is no signature of formation of At radioisotopes, which can be produced by the interaction of secondary particles, typical for thick targets.  相似文献

Divinylbenzene derivatives represent an important class of molecular building blocks in organic chemistry and materials science. Reported herein is the palladium‐catalyzed synthesis of divinylbenzenes by meta‐C H olefination of sulfone‐based arenes. Successful sequential olefinations in a position‐selective manner provided a novel route for the synthesis of hetero‐dialkenylated products, which are difficult to access using conventional methods. Additionally, 1,3,5‐trialkenylated compounds can be generated upon successful removal of the directing group.  相似文献

The paper presents an exact analysis of the dispersion of a passive contaminant in a viscous fluid flowing in a parallel plate channel driven by a uniform pressure gradient. The channel rotates about an axis perpendicular to its walls with a uniform angular velocity resulting in a secondary flow. Using a generalized dispersion model which is valid for all time, we evaluate the longitudinal dispersion coefficientsK i (i=1, 2, ...) as functions of time. It is shown thatK 1=0 andK 3,K 4, ... decay rapidly in comparison withK 2. ButK 2 decreases with increasing (the dimensionless rotation parameter) for values of upto approximately =2.2. ThereafterK 2 increases with further increase in and its value gets saturated for large values of (say, 500) and does not change any further with increase in . A physical explanation of this anomalous behaviour ofK 2 is given.

Zusammenfassung In dieser Untersuchung wird eine exakte Analyse der Ausbreitung eines passiven Kontaminierungsstoffes in einer zähen Flüssigkeit gegeben, die, befördert durch einen gleichförmigen Druckgradienten, in einem Parallelplattenkanal strömt. Der Kanal rotiert mit gleichförmiger Winkelgeschwindigkeit um eine zu seinen Wänden senkrechte Achse, wodurch sich eine Sekundärströmung ausbildet. Unter Verwendung eines generalisierten, für alle Zeiten gültigen Dispersionsmodells werden die longitudinalen DispersionskoeffizientenK i (i=1, 2, ...) als Funktionen der Zeit ermittelt. Es wird gezeigt, daßK 1=0 gilt und dieK 3,K 4, ... gegenüberK 2 schnell abnehmen.K 2 nimmt ab, wenn , der dimensionslose Rotationsparameter, bis etwa zum Wert 2,2 ansteigt. Danach wächstK 2 mit bis auf einem Endwert an, der etwa ab =500 erreicht wird. Dieses anomale Verhalten vonK 2 findet eine physikalische Erklärung.

This paper is concerned with the generation of water waves due to prescribed initial axisymmetric disturbances in a deep ocean with an ice-cover modelled as a thin elastic plate. The initial disturbances are either in the form of an impulsive pressure distributed over a certain region of the ice-cover or an initial displacement of the ice-cover. Assuming linear theory, the problem is formulated as an initial-value problem in the velocity potential describing the ensuing motion in the fluid. In the mathematical analysis, the Laplace and Hankel transform techniques have been utilised to obtain the deformation of the ice-covered surface as an infinite integral in each case. The method of stationary phase is used to evaluate the integral for large values of time and distance. Figures are drawn to show the effect of the presence of ice-cover on the wave motion.  相似文献
