Interference noise spectrum above a rough sea surface at small glancing angles

The interference noise spectrum due to sea clutter has been investigated using statistical scattering theory. The scattered field was calculated in the tangent-plane approximation. The bearings of a motionless source are taken in the bistatic case. Taking the function of shadows on a spatially inhomogeneous random surface into account, we were able to explain the nonmonotonic dependence of the width of the spectrum of arrival angle fluctuations on the distance as well as the presence of maxima in the spectrum at frequencies substantially higher than that of the maximum of a rough sea surface. Über eine Mikrofiltrierpipette für die Stäbchenmethode

Zusammenfassung Es wird eine Mikrofiltrierpipette für dieEmichsche Saugstäbchenmethode beschrieben, die sowohl an der Wasserstrahlpumpe, wie auch durch Ansaugen mit dem Mund oder einem dickwandigen Gummiballon zu Filtrationen aller Art brauchbar ist. Gegenüber den üblichen Einrichtungen bietet sie neben der Handlichkeit, die sie besonders für ortsbewegliche Laboratorien geeignet macht, den Vorteil, daß Verluste an Filtrat auch bei rascherer Filtration mit Sicherheit vermieden werden.

Résumé (W) L'auteur décrit une micropipette pour la méthode d'Emich (baguette filtrante); elle peut être employée aussi bien pour des filtrations à la trompe à eau que par succion à la bouche, ou pour aspiration avec un joint de caoutchouc à parois épaisses. Comparé aux autres dispositifs, cette micropipette présente, à côté de sa manipulation aisée qui est intéressante pour des laboratoires facilement déplaçables, l'avantage de pouvoir éviter, avec certitude, les pertes de filtrat même lors de filtrations rapides.

Über ein zur quantitativen Papierchromatographie besonders geeignetes Kapillar-Kolorimeter

Zusammenfassung Es wird ein Kapillarkolorimeter beschrieben, das sich wegen seiner großen Schichtdicken zur quantitativen Bestimmung kleinster Substanzmengen eignet. An Hand von Beleganalysen wird seine Brauchbarkeit besonders für die quantitative Papierchromatographie nachgewiesen.

Summary A capillary colorimeter is described, which because of its great layer thicknesses is suitable for the quantitative determination of very small amounts. Its efficiency was tested, particularly for quantitative paper chromatography, by check analyses.

Résumé On décrit un colorimètre capillaire qui convient pour le dosage de très petites quantités de substance à cause de l'épaisseur relativement grande de la couche. On démontre son utilité à l'aide d'analyses-témoins, particulièrement chez la chromatographie sur papier quantitative.
