In this paper, we have reported the anti‐corrosion performance of ceria / poly (indole‐co‐pyrrole) (Ce/(poly(In‐co‐Py)) bilayer coating on low nickel stainless steel (LN SS). Electrochemical polymerization of (poly (In‐co‐Py)) was achieved on ceria‐coated LN SS (CeO2/LN SS) in acetonitrile medium containing LiClO4 (ACN‐LiClO4) by cyclic voltammetric technique. The coatings were characterized by analytical techniques like Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy with energy dispersive analysis of X‐ray, respectively. The mechanical behavior of the coatings was studied using peel test, hardness and wear resistance tests. The corrosion defensive performance of this bilayer coating on LN SS was investigated using electrochemical techniques such as potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in 0.5 M H2SO4. These results show that the bilayer coating on LN SS lowered the permeability of corrosive ions present in the acidic medium and thus acts as a barrier against the attack of corrosive environment. Recently, considerable interest has been focused on developing greener and biodegradable materials due to growing environmental concerns. Owing to their low cost, biodegradability, and good mechanical properties, plant fibers have substituted synthetic fibers in the preparation of composites. However, the poor interfacial adhesion due to the hydrophilic nature and high-water absorption limits the use of plant fibers as a reinforcing agent in polymer matrices. The hydrophilic nature of the plant fibers can be overcome by chemical treatments. Cellulose the most abundant natural polymer obtained from sources such as plants, wood, and bacteria has gained wider attention these days. Different methods, such as mechanical, chemical, and chemical treatments in combination with mechanical treatments, have been adopted by researchers for the extraction of cellulose from plants, bacteria, algae, etc. Cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), cellulose nanofibrils (CNF), and microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) have been extracted and used for different applications such as food packaging, water purification, drug delivery, and in composites. In this review, updated information on the methods of isolation of nanocellulose, classification, characterization, and application of nanocellulose has been highlighted. The characteristics and the current status of cellulose-based fiber-reinforced polymer composites in the industry have also been discussed in detail.  相似文献

Drug delivery systems (DDS) are used to achieve a higher therapeutic effects of a pharmaceutical drug or natural compound in a specific diseased site with minimal toxicological effect and these systems consists of liposomes, microspheres, gels, prodrugs and many. Nanotechnology is a rapidly developing multi-disciplinary science that ensures the fabrication of the polymers to nanometer scale for various medical applications. Uses of biopolymers in DDS ensure the biocompatibility, biodegradability and low immunogenicity over the synthetic ones. Biopolymers such as silk fibroins, collagen, gelatin, albumin, starch, cellulose and chitosan can be easily made into suspension that serve as delivery vehicles for both macro and mini drug molecules. There are various methods such as supercritical fluid extraction, desolvation, electrospraying, spray-drying, layer-by-layer self-assembly, freeze-drying and microemulsion introduced to make these DDS. This drug carrier systems enhance the drug delivery actively and can be used in ocular, transdermal, dental or intranasal delivery systems. This review describes the new trends in nanomaterials based drug delivery systems mainly using biopolymers such as proteins (silk fibroin, collagen, gelatin and albumin) and polysaccharides (chitosan, alginate, cellulose and starch).  相似文献

Chemical investigation of the rhizomes of Costus speciosus led to the isolation of a new compound, 22-ketocholesteryl palmitate (1) along with four known compounds, 24-methylenecycloartanol (2), cycloartanol (3), stigmasterol (4) and linoleic acid (5). Lattice strains in Mg, Zn and Cd powders produced by grinding have been analyzed by X-ray powder diffraction. The lattice strain (ɛ) and Debye-Waller factor (B) are determined from the half-widths and integrated intensities of the Bragg reflections. In all three cases viz. Mg, Zn and Cd, the Debye-Waller factor is found to increase with the lattice strain. From the correlation between the strain and effective Debye-Waller factor, the Debye-Waller factors for zero strain have been estimated for Mg, Zn and Cd. The variation of energy of vacancy formation as a function of lattice strain has been studied.  相似文献

We report the modulational instability (MI) analysis for the modulation equations governing the propagation of coherent polarized light through a nematic liquid crystal (NLC) slab, in the limit of low light intensity and local material response. The linear stability analysis of the nonlinear plane wave solutions is performed by considering both the wave vectors (k,l) of the basic states and wave vectors (K,L) of the perturbations as free parameters. We compute the MI gain, and the MI gain peak is reduced and the stable bandwidth is widened with the increase of the strength of the applied electric field. Further, we invoke the extended homogeneous balance method and Exp-function method aided with symbolic computation and obtain a series of periodic solitonic humps of nematicon profiles admitting the propagation of laser light in the NLC medium.  相似文献

A rapid, sensitive and selective method is described for the determination of chromium(VI) in presence of 100-fold amounts of chromium(III) by flame atomic absorption spectrometry (FAAS) in conjunction with coprecipitative preconcentration of its ethyl xanthate complex onto naphthalene. The solid mixture consisting of the chromium(VI) complex together with naphthalene is dissolved in 8.0 ml of dimethyl formamide (DMF) and chromium(VI) content was established by FAAS. Calibration graphs were rectilinear over the chromium(VI) concentration in the range 0-200 μg l−1. Five replicate determinations of 20 μg of chromium(VI) present in 1.0 l of sample solution gave a relative standard deviation of 3.1%. The detection limit corresponding to three times the standard deviation of the blank was found to be 0.5 μg l−1. The developed procedure has been successfully utilized for the estimation of chromium(VI), chromium(total) (after oxidation with bromate) and chromium(III) (by subtracting chromium(VI) content from chromium(total) value contents of several tannery industries.  相似文献
