Numerous gold nanostructures have the potential for photothermal therapy in cancers. Here, gold nanocages and gold nanoshells are synthesized, the sizes of which are fine‐tuned for a response at 750 nm wavelength. Their photothermal therapeutic efficiency is compared at gold concentration of 100 lg mL?1 using a near‐infrared laser (750 nm). The biocompatibility for varying concentrations of gold (1 to 100 lg mL?1) is performed in a normal cell line and laser‐mediated cell cytotoxicity for varying time intervals (7.5 and 10 min) is carried out in breast cancer cells. This study shows that when analyzed under similar conditions, the gold nanocages show better biocompatibility and are more efficient in near‐infrared absorption and photothermal conversion in comparison with conventional gold nanoshells. When subjected to photothermal laser ablation of breast cancer cell line for 7.5 min and 10 min, the nanocages are able to induce 62.92 ± 3.25% and 96.41 ± 3.04% reduction in cell viability, respectively, in comparison to nanoshells, in which a 43.35 ± 1.91% and 79.89 ± 4.74% reduction in cell viability is observed. The current study shows that the gold nanocages can outperform gold nanoshells and effectively kill cancer cells without any significant cytotoxic effect on normal cells.  相似文献

A sugar-based photoresponsive supergelator, N-glycosylazobenzene that shows selective gelation of aromatic solvents is described. The partial trans-cis isomerization of the azobenzene moiety allows photoinduced chopping of the entangled gel fibers to short fibers, resulting in controlled fiber length and gel-sol transition. The gelator is useful for the selective removal of toxic aromatic solvents from water.  相似文献

A simple, green and catalyst free one pot synthesis of 7-phenyl-1,4,6,7-tetrahydro-thiazolo[5,4-d]pyrimidine-2,5-diones via a multicomponent reaction between thiazolidine-2, 4-dione (TZD), aromatic aldehyde and urea analogues is described. The ionic liquid has been used as a solvent as well as catalyst for this reaction. This reaction proceeded smoothly in good to excellent yields and offered several other advantages including short reaction time, simple experimental workup procedure and no by-products.  相似文献

Iterated stockholder atoms are produced by dividing molecular electron densities into sums of overlapping, near-spherical atomic densities. It is shown that there exists a good correlation between the overlap of the densities of two atoms and the order of the covalent bond between the atoms (as given by simple valence rules). Furthermore, iterated stockholder atoms minimise a functional of the charge density, and this functional can be expressed as a sum of atomic contributions, which are related to the deviation of the atomic densities from spherical symmetry. Since iterated stockholder atoms can be obtained uniquely from the electron density, this work gives an orbital-free method for predicting bond orders and atomic anisotropies from experimental or theoretical charge density data.  相似文献

A simple tris(2-aminoethyl)amine based meta-chloro substituted tripodal thiourea receptor L has been extensively studied with two divalent oxyanions of sulfur, such as sulfate and thiosulfate, with identical dimensionality. The solid state crystal structure of the anion complexes with L reveal that the anions are encapsulated within the dimeric rigid capsular assembly of the receptor via N-Hanion interactions. To the best of our knowledge this is the first report on the encapsulation of thiosulfate within dimeric capsular assembly of a neutral receptor. The tight capsular sizes for both anion complexes are quite comparable, whereas the coordination mode of the anions and the hydrogen bonding parameters are significantly varied. The three dimensional solid state structural orientations of the capsular complexes are mainly governed by the ClCl (for thiosulfate complex) and ClS (for sulfate complex) halogen bonding interactions. The solution-state binding and encapsulation of oxyanions by N-Hanion hydrogen bonding has also been confirmed by quantitative (1)H NMR titration and 2D NOESY NMR experiments. Both the experiments confirm that in contradiction of 2?:?1 solid state binding, in solution the studied anions are bound within the pseudocavity of the receptor with 1?:?1 binding stoichiometry. Moreover, the change in chemical shifts of thiourea -NH protons and the binding constant values suggest the receptor-sulfate interaction is more energetically favorable compared to the receptor thiosulfate interaction.  相似文献

N,N′‐dioxide ligands such as 2, 2′‐bipyridine‐N,N‐dioxide (BPDO‐I) and 4, 4′‐bipyridine‐N,N‐dioxide (BPDO‐II) were used to trap the hydrated dimethyltin cations under controlled hydrolysis. The use of the chelating ligand BPDO‐I leads to the isolation of the discrete monocation [Me2Sn(BPDO‐I)(OH2)(NO3)]+[NO3] ( 2 ), whereas the linear ligand BPDO‐II directs the construction of cationic polymers, [{Me2Sn(OH2)2(μ‐BPDO‐II)}2+{NO3}2 · 2H2O]n ( 3· 2H2O) and [{Me2Sn(μ‐OH)(BPDO‐II)}22+{NO3}2 · H2O]n ( 4· H2O) under different reaction conditions.  相似文献

Zircon is an accessory mineral, which occurs at low concentrations in a wide variety of rocks and is a host for hafnium, rare-earth elements (REE) and radio active elements like uranium and thorium. The presence of uranium in zircon has led to its increased use in the age determination of rocks. Zirconium is also considered as a strategic, hi-tech element because of its various applications, especially in the manufacturing, nuclear and aerospace industries. Analysis of zircon constitutes one of the tough tasks in analytical chemistry as it is a highly resistant mineral and it is extremely difficult to achieve its complete decomposition. In the present work, inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry has been applied to the determination of hafnium, REE, uranium and thorium in zircon samples using two different sample dissolution procedures, one employing sodium peroxide fusion and another using a fusion mixture of KHF2 and NaF in 3:1 ratio. Some selected zircon samples originating from different places on the eastern coast of India have been analysed by both the methods and values obtained by both methods were found to be in good agreement with each other. Though a number of international zircon reference materials are available, certified or even proposed values are available only for a very few elements in them. Two zircon reference materials have also been analysed by both methods and usable values have been proposed in this paper. The values obtained by both methods were found to compare well with each other and as well with those reported in literature. The % RSD for all the estimated elements varied from 1.0 to 12.0% at different concentration levels.  相似文献

Indium Antimonide (InSb) thin films were grown onto well cleaned glass substrates at different substrate temperatures (303, 373 and 473 K) by vacuum evaporation. The elemental composition of the deposited InSb film was found to be 52.9% (In) and 47.1% (Sb). X‐ray diffraction studies confirm the polycrystallinity of the films and the films show preferential orientation along the (111) plane. The particle size (D), dislocation density (δ) and strain (ε) were evaluated. The particle size increases with the increase of substrate temperature, which was found to be in the range from 22.36 to 32.59 nm. In Laser Raman study, the presence of longitudinal mode (LO) confirms that the deposited films were having the crystalline nature. Raman peak located at 191.26 cm–1 shift towards the lower frequencies and narrows with increase in deposition temperature. This indicates that the crystallinity is improved in the films deposited at higher substrate temperatures. Hall measurements indicate that the films were p‐type, having carrier concentration ≅1016 cm–3 and mobility (4–7.7) ×103 cm2/Vs. It is observed that the carrier concentration (N) decreases and the Hall mobility (μ) increases with the increase of substrate temperature. (© 2005 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Indium Selenide (InSe) thin films were deposited from a mixture of Indium chloride and selenium dioxide in aqueous solution by electrodeposition technique on Indium Tin oxide coated glass substrates. The effects of the parameters during deposition such as current density, deposition potential versus saturated calomel electrode, pH value and concentration of source material were studied. X‐ray diffraction studies were carried out on the films to analyze the microstructure using an x‐ray diffractometer and were examined by RAMAN spectroscopy. The Raman peak position did not change much with chemical concentrations. Raman scattering due to the (LO) phonon was observed at 211 cm–1. Optical absorption studies were performed with a double beam ultra violet‐visible –NIR spectrophotometer in the wavelength 300–1100 nm. The surface morphology of the layer was examined using a scanning electron micrograph. The composition of the films was studied using an Energy Dispersive Analysis by X‐Rays (EDAX).  相似文献
