Wormlike micellar solutions based on ionic surfactants typically show an exponential decrease in viscosity upon heating. Here, we report the unusual observation of an increasing viscosity with temperature in certain cationic wormlike micellar solutions. The solutions contain a cationic surfactant with an erucyl (C22, mono-unsaturated) tail and an organic salt, sodium hydroxynaphthalene carboxylate (SHNC). When these solutions are heated, their zero-shear viscosity increases over a range of temperatures. In some cases, the viscosity reaches a peak at a certain temperature and then decreases with further heating. The magnitude of the viscosity increase, the onset of this increase, and the peak temperature can all be tuned by varying the SHNC concentration. Small-angle neutron scattering is used to study the origin of this unusual rheological behavior. The data reveal that the contour length of the micelles increases with temperature, in tandem with the rise in viscosity. A possible explanation for the contour length increase, based on a temperature-dependent counterion binding, is discussed.  相似文献

L‐histidinium acetate dihydrate {abbreviated as LHAc; [C6H10 N3O2+ C2H3O2 2H2O], a new nonlinear optical (NLO) material has been grown from aqueous solution. The grown crystals were subjected to X‐ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT‐Raman analyses. Thermal studies have been carried out for its thermal stability. Optical behaviour such as UV‐Vis‐NIR spectrum and second harmonic generation (SHG) were also investigated. Its SHG efficiency was found as deff = 2.2 deff (KDP). (© 2007 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. A novel palladium catalysed three-component process is described involving an allene, an aryl iodide containing an activated alkene and TMSN3. The cascade proceeds via a (π-allyl)palladium species which is intercepted by azide anion followed by stereoselective intramolecular 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of the organoazide to afford substituted triazolo- and tetrazolo-tetrahydroisoquinolines in good yield. These latter products undergo extrusion of nitrogen to afford isoquinolines at 100 °C.  相似文献

In the present investigation we have synthesized a novel series of N-substituted-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-ethyl carboxylates, which are characterized by 1H NMR, UV–Vis and FT-IR spectroscopy methods. The optical nonlinearity of the compounds in chloroform solution has been studied at 532 nm using 5 ns laser pulses, employing the open-aperture z-scan technique. It is found that compound 3c having carboxylic acid group and ester substituent has maximum nonlinearity. From measurements we conclude that compounds 3c (4-[4-(ethoxycarbonyl)-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazol-1-yl]benzoic acid) and 3e (ethyl 1-(2-bromophenyl)-5-phenyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylate) are potential candidates for optical limiting applications.  相似文献

Abstract

The dislodgable residues of methomyl from leaves and vegtables were determined by a single-step methanol extraction followed by reversed-phase HPLC. The residues on the bhendi vegetables and leaves were several times higher than on the brinjal vegetables and leaves. The pesticide, however, dissipates rapidly under the South Indian climatic conditions resulting in undetectable residues within three days of spraying.  相似文献

A new synthetic route was developed for the synthesis of 4,6‐diaryl‐2‐methyl‐l,3‐benzoxazoles and their hydrogenated derivatives. The target compounds were obtained via the Neber rearrangement from 3,5‐diaryl‐2‐cyclohexen‐l‐ones. The formation of the isomers in the dihydro derivatives was explained by the [1,5] sigmatropic shift of hydrogen under thermal condition. DDQ was employed for the dehydrogenation of the dihydro benzoxazoles.  相似文献

A highly sensitive, specific and rapid LC‐ESI‐MS/MS method has been developed and validated for the quantification of rocilinostat in small volume mouse plasma (20 μL) using vorinostat as an internal standard (IS) as per regulatory guidelines. Sample preparation was accomplished through a protein precipitation procedure with acetonitrile. Chromatography was achieved on Prodigy ODS‐2 column using a binary gradient using mobile phase A (0.2% formic acid in water) and B (acetonitrile) at a flow rate of 0.38 mL/min. The total chromatographic run time was 4.1 min and the elution of rocilinostat and IS occurred at ~3.2 and 2.9 min, respectively. A linear response function was established in the concentration range of 0.28–1193 ng/mL in mouse plasma. The intra‐ and inter‐day accuracy and precisions were in the ranges of 3.12–8.93 and 6.41–11.6%, respectively. This novel method has been applied to a pharmacokinetic study in mice.
