New Functional Polyolefins: Towards a Bridge Between Catalytic and RAFT Polymerizations?

Summary: Di‐polyethylenyl magnesium compounds, obtained by a transition metal catalyzed chain growth reaction on butyloctyl magnesium, are reacted with a range of disulfides of thiocarbonylated compounds (RC(S)SSC(S)R). Xanthate, dithiocarbamate, dithioester, and trithiocarbonate‐functionalized polyethylenes are thus obtained and characterized by ¹H NMR and IR spectroscopy, and MALDI TOF mass spectrometry. These macroRAFT agents may serve as building blocks for the synthesis of block copolymers based on polyolefins and polar segments.

Thio thiocarbonylate‐terminated polyethylene chains are easily prepared in high yield by a two step reaction and analyzed by MALDI‐TOF mass spectrometry.

Periodic parabolic problems with concave and convex nonlinearities

Let be a smooth bounded domain, let a, b be two functions that are possibly discontinuous and unbounded with a ≥ 0 in and b > 0 in a set of positive measure and let 0 < p < 1 < q. We prove that there exists some 0 < Λ < ∞ such that the nonlinear Dirichlet periodic parabolic problem in has a positive solution for all 0 < λ < Λ and that there is no positive solution if λ > Λ. In some cases we also show the existence of a minimal solution for all 0 < λ < Λ and that the solution u _λ can be chosen such that λ → u _λ is differentiable and increasing. We also give some upper and lower estimates for such a Λ. All results remain true for the analogous elliptic problems. 为支持在并行设计过程中设计特征模型到加工特征模型的逐步转换，提出了局部特征识别的方法．在并行设计中，设计特征模型和加工特征模型通过面名历史图共享零件的实体模型，设计特征的变动通过局部特征识别自动地转换为相应的加工特征．局部特征识别是由基于最小条件子图特征识别方法改进来的，它以零件的局部区域为识别对象，通过搜索匹配局部区域构成的边界模式，识别出该局部区域中所包含的加工特征．局部特征识别方法的特点是只对设计中发生变动的区域进行识别．

Navier–Stokes Equations on Weighted Graphs

Navier–Stokes equations arise in the study of incompressible fluid mechanics, star movement inside a galaxy, dynamics of airplane wings, etc. In the case of Newtonian incompressible fluids, we propose an adaptation of such equations to finite connected weighted graphs such that it produces an ordinary differential equation with solutions contained in a linear subspace, this subspace corresponding to the Newtonian conservation law. We discuss the particular case when the graph is the complete graph K _m , with constant weight, and provide a necessary and sufficient condition for it to have solutions.

Considerations about the226Ra gross alpha counting determination

Chemical elemental compositions of some silicate, magnetic and glass spherules were investigated with INAA. The elements determined include Os, Ir, Ni, Co, Fe, Cr, Au, La, Ce, Sm, Eu, Yb, Lu and Sc etc. The elemental correlation, as well as their enrichment (or depletion) factors relative to Cl chondrite were examined. The high concentrations of the refractory siderophile elements contained in these spherules support the proposal that they originate from extraterrestrial substances. Some useful chemical criteria for identifying the sources of silicate, magnetic and glass spherules are put forward.
