We present a microscopic theory of polariton–polariton (PP) scattering in quantum microcavities, which is developed with allowance for the composite nature of polaritons. Analytical estimations of the effective scattering rate for PP scattering with parallel spin configuration are presented, and the role of dark excitons in the opposite spin configuration is discussed.  相似文献

The generation of higher harmonics by semiconductor carbon nanotubes in the presence of constant electric field polarized along the nanotube axis is considered. The analysis is performed in the semiclassical model of electron motion without taking into account interband transitions. The electron system of carbon nanotubes is described using the kinetic Boltzmann equation in the relaxation time approximation. A formation model for optical-beam deflection signals in ceramics is constructed. The generation of temperature waves by laser radiation in ceramics with regard for the anisotropy of their thermal physical properties is considered. The thermal physical parameters of silicon nitride ceramic are measured with a laser optical-beam deflection method. The one-electron quantum-electrodynamic corrections to the magnetic-dipole transition amplitude between the fine-structure levels (1s2 2s2 2p) 2P3/2 - 2P1/2 in boronlike ions are calculated to all orders in αZ. The results obtained serve for improving the theoretical accuracy of the lifetime of the (1s2 2s2 2p) 2P3/2 level in boronlike argon.  相似文献

We observe photocurrents induced in single-layer graphene samples by illumination of the graphene edges with circularly polarized terahertz radiation at normal incidence. The photocurrent flows along the sample edges and forms a vortex. Its winding direction reverses by switching the light helicity from left to right handed. We demonstrate that the photocurrent stems from the sample edges, which reduce the spatial symmetry and result in an asymmetric scattering of carriers driven by the radiation electric field. The developed theory based on Boltzmann's kinetic equation is in a good agreement with the experiment. We show that the edge photocurrents can be applied for determination of the conductivity type and the momentum scattering time of the charge carriers in the graphene edge vicinity.  相似文献

A novel type of exciton–phonon bound state—interlayer polaron—in a double-layer 2D semiconductor with transition metal dichalcogenides as an example, is predicted. In these systems, the interaction of the interlayer exciton with the soft modes of out-of-plane lattice vibrations caused by van der Waals forces and flexural rigidity gives rise to a bound quasiparticle. The energy and effective mass of the formed polaron for weak and strong exciton–phonon coupling regimes are calculated and analyzed. Possible manifestations of these effects in transport- and spectroscopy-related experiments are discussed.  相似文献

The nuclear recoil effect on the g-factor of H- and Li-like heavy ions is evaluated to all orders in αZ. The calculations include an approximate treatment of the nuclear size and the electron–electron interaction corrections to the recoil effect. As the result, the second largest contribution to the theoretical uncertainty of the g-factor values of 208Pb79+ and 238U89+ is strongly reduced. Special attention is paid to tests of the QED recoil effect on the g-factor in experiments with heavy ions. It is found that, while the QED recoil effect on the gfactor value is masked by the uncertainties of the nuclear size and nuclear polarization contributions, it can be probed on a few-percent level in the specific difference of the g-factors of H- and Li-like heavy ions. This provides a unique opportunity to test QED in a new region of the strong-coupling regime beyond the Furry picture.  相似文献

The nuclear recoil correction to the g factor of boronlike ions is evaluated within the lowest-order relativistic (Breit) approximation. The interelectronic-interaction effects are taken into account to the first order of the perturbation theory in 1/Z. Higher orders in 1/Z are partly accounted for by means of the effective screening potential. The most accurate up-to-date values of this contribution are presented for the ions in the range Z = 10–20.  相似文献
