The KTeV E799 experiment has conducted a search for the rare decays, K(L)→π(0)π(0)μ(+)μ(-) and K(L)→π(0)π(0)X(0)→π(0)π(0)μ(+)μ(-), where the X(0) is a possible new neutral boson that was reported by the HyperCP experiment with a mass of (214.3 ± 0.5) MeV/c(2). We find no evidence for either decay. We obtain upper limits of Br(K(L)→π(0)π(0)X(0)→π(0)π(0)μ(+)μ(-)) < 1.0 × 10(-10) and Br(K(L)→π(0)π(0)μ(+)μ(-)) < 9.2 × 10(-11) at the 90% confidence level. This result rules out the pseudoscalar X(0) as an explanation of the HyperCP result under the scenario that the dsX(0) coupling is completely real.  相似文献

It is shown that the D’yakonov-Perel’ spin relaxation mechanism in a two-dimensional electron gas is controlled not only by the electron-momentum relaxation that accounts for the electron mobility but also by the electron-electron collisions. The kinetic equation describing the mixing of electron spin in the k space was solved, and the spin relaxation time τs caused by frequent electron-electron collisions was determined. The time τ s was calculated for a nondegenerate electron gas both with and without allowance for the exchange interaction.  相似文献

Calculations of spectroscopic properties of the CnO and FlO molecules are performed using ab initio all-electron 4c- and 2c-relativistic coupled-cluster approaches with single, double, and perturbative triple excitations. The corresponding calculation for HgO is also accomplished for comparison with the published data. The dependence of the results on the parameters of the basis set and approximations used is investigated in detail. The overall relative uncertainties of the recommended values on the level of 1–2 % are reached. The calculated spectroscopic constants are indicative of the following trend in the reactivity of the oxides HgO>FlO>CnO. This is confirmed by the trend in the adsorption energies, Eads, of these molecules on the surfaces of gold, quartz, and Teflon. The predicted rather low Eads values for the latter case should guarantee their delivery from the recoil chamber to the chemistry set up in gas-phase experiments.  相似文献

Effects that are related to deviations from thermodynamic equilibrium have a special place in modern physics. Among these, nonequilibrium phenomena in quantum systems attract the highest interest. The experimental technique of spin-noise spectroscopy has became quite widespread, which makes it possible to observe spin fluctuations of charge carriers in semiconductors under both equilibrium and nonequilibrium conditions. This calls for the development of a theory of spin fluctuations of electrons and electron–hole complexes for nonequilibrium conditions. In this paper, we consider a range of physical situations where a deviation from equilibrium becomes pronounced in the spin noise. A general method for the calculation of electron and exciton spin fluctuations in a nonequilibrium state is proposed. A short review of the theoretical and experimental results in this area is given.  相似文献

The hyperfine structure of the ground state of the lithium-like scandium ion (Z = 21) is considered. The effects of electron-electron interaction are taken into account in the first order in 1/Z using the quantum electrodynamic perturbation theory and in higher orders using the method of configuration interaction in the Dirac-Fock-Sturm basis. One-loop radiative corrections are calculated in all orders in αZ with an effective local screening potential. The corrections for the finite nuclear size and the distribution of the magnetic moment over the nucleus have been refined.  相似文献

The generation of high harmonics of current density in a superlattice based on graphene on a striped substrate is considered under the influence of static and alternating electric fields polarized along the superlattice axis. The studies of spin phenomena in semiconductor low-dimensional systems have grown into the rapidly developing area of the condensed matter physics: spintronics. The most urgent problems in this area, both fundamental and applied, are the creation of charge carrier spin polarization and its detection, as well as electron spin control by nonmagnetic methods. Here, we present a review of recent achievements in the studies of spin dynamics of electrons, holes, and their complexes in the pump-probe method. The microscopic mechanisms of spin orientation of charge carriers and their complexes by short circularly polarized optical pulses and the formation processes of the spin signals of Faraday and Kerr rotation of the probe pulse polarization plane as well as induced ellipticity are discussed. A special attention is paid to the comparison of theoretical concepts with experimental data obtained on the n-type quantum well and quantum dot array samples.  相似文献

Using the complete KTeV data set of 5,241 candidate K(L)--> pi(+) pi(-) e(+) e(-) decays (including an estimated background of 204 +/- 14 events), we have measured the coupling g(CR)= 0.163 +/- 0.0149(stat) +/- 0.023(syst) of the CP conserving charge radius process and from it determined a K(0) charge radius of = [-0.077 +/- 0.007(stat) +/- 0.011(syst)]fm(2). We have determined a first experimental upper limit of 0.04 (90% C.L.) /g(e1)/ / /g(M1)/ of the couplings for the E1 and M1 direct photon emission processes. We also report the measurement of /g(M1)/ including a vector form factor /g(M1)/(1 + (a(1)/a(2))/((M(2)(p)-(M(2)(k))= 2M(K)E(gamma*)), where vector /g(M1)/= 1.11+/- 0.12(stat) +/- 0.08(syst) and a(1)/a(2) = [-0.744 +/- 0.027(stat) +/- 0.032(syst)] GeV(2)/c(2). Finally, a CP-violating asymmetry of [13.6 +/- 1.4(stat) +/- 1.5(syst)]% in the CP and T odd angle phi between the decay planes of the e(+) e(-) and pi(+) pi(-) pairs in the K(L) center of mass is reported.  相似文献

The images of Vickers indentations in titanium are obtained by photoacoustic microscopy with piezoelectric-signal detection. It is shown that the analysis of the photoacoustic-image features makes it possible to obtain information on the nature of internal stresses in metal. In the framework of the single-temperature model of material thermoelasticity, it is demonstrated that the detected changes in the structure of photoacoustic images may be caused by the dependence of the thermal-expansion coefficient on stresses and by the presence of stress concentrators within the indentation.  相似文献

The Bose–Einstein condensation of excitons in two-dimensional (2D) systems has been studied theoretically, taking into account both the random potential associated with imperfections of the structure and the finite exciton lifetime. It is shown that the disorder existing in the system makes condensation possible. The finite exciton lifetime limits the thermalization of excitons in the disordered system and sets an additional limit on the critical temperature of the transition. The effects of interparticle interaction and pump fluctuations have been analyzed. The phase correlator has been calculated and the failure of the condensate due to the effects of interaction and fluctuations has been analyzed. The propagation of perturbations in the condensate has been investigated.  相似文献
