A biocompatible and elastomeric PU was synthesized from low-molecular-weight PCL as macrodiol, CMD as chain extender and HDI as chain linker for applications in the field of peripheral nerve repair. PU cast films supported in vitro attachment and proliferation of NOBEC. The in vitro adhesion and proliferation of S5Y5 neuroblastoma cells on the inner surface of uncoated, gelatin- and PL-coated PU guides were compared. Due to their superior in vitro performance, PL-coated PU guides were tested in vivo for the repair of 1.8 cm-long defects in rat sciatic nerves. The progressive regeneration was confirmed by EMG and histological analysis showing the presence of regenerating fibers in the distal stumps.  相似文献

Elliptic droplets of nematic liquid crystal dispersed in a fluid organic monomer were obtained by phase separation from an isotropic mixture consisting of an organic monomer and a nematic liquid crystal contained in a poly(ethylene terephthalate) cell with inner surfaces treated with rubbed polyimide. The elliptic shape is a consequence of the constraint upon droplet growth along the direction perpendicular to the cell surfaces owing to the small thickness. Then, the resulting droplets will have a contact area with the inner surfaces of the cell treated with polyimide, which will impart a planar orientation on the liquid crystal in the droplet. By means of an optical microscope, using a simple pin hole of 5 μ m, we have selected single droplets for a series of samples having different contact areas. By polarized infrared spectroscopy we have also studied the liquid crystal orientation in selected areas of the droplets. We then report the dependence of the order parameter of the liquid crystal on different contact areas with the alignment surface of the cell. The good degree of planar alignment of the liquid crystal in the elliptic droplets allows the use of such a technique for realizing electro-optical films operating in the reverse mode. We report the electro-optical transmission of reverse mode films with different sizes of elliptic droplet.  相似文献

(2Z,1S)-1,3-diphenyl-2-propenol (3) is obtained from the chiral 5,6-dihydro-1,4-dithiin 1b in two steps and 60% enantiomeric excess. A study was undertaken to develop a method for the chemical speciation of As in rice on the basis of current knowledge in this field for use in preparing a certified reference material (CRM). Samples of the Arborio rice variety were ground to a fine powder, which was extracted under sonication with a water-methanol mixture (1 + 1, v/v). The resulting solutions were injected into a high-performance liquid chromatograph combined on-line with a quadrupole inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometer. This hyphenated system allowed for the quantification of As species in one analytical step. Four forms of As were detected: inorganic As (III), dimethylarsinic acid (DMA), monomethylarsonic acid (MMA), and inorganic As (V) at concentrations of 88.2 +/- 7.1, 50.8 +/- 5.0, 15.2 +/- 1.7, and 51.2 +/- 3.5 ng/g, respectively. The concentration of total As was 211 +/- 7 ng/g. The limits of detection (3sigma criterion) and the quantitation (10sigma criterion) were, respectively, as follows (in ng/g): As (III), 0.095 and 0.320; As (V), 0.082 and 0.273; MMA, 0.110 and 0.367; and DMA, 0.145 and 0.480. Ten hours were needed for the extraction procedure, 6 h for the evaporation, and 30 min for quantification of the analytes. This investigation was performed in the frame of a European Commission Project on the feasibility of CRMs for As and Se species.  相似文献

Nine samples of N-acetyl-3,4-methylenedioxyamphetamine (N-acetyl-MDA), prepared according to the most common synthetic procedures, are submitted to (2)H NMR spectroscopy. The relative deuterium content at the various sites of the molecule is shown to depend on its synthetic history. The technique provides a chemical fingerprint of N-acetyl-MDAs and it can be used to trace back the precursor materials and the synthetic pathways employed in the preparation of the samples.  相似文献

A new analytical approach, using paper spray tandem mass spectrometry, has been developed for assay of carnitine and acylcarnitines in urine. Paper spray (PS) is a very promising technique, especially in clinical investigations, because of its simplicity, low cost, and rapid sample preparation. A home-made paper spray device was used for assay of urinary acylcarnitines (C2–C18). The performance of solvents with different elution efficiency and paper substrates with different porosity grade and structure were tested by use of spiked synthetic urine. Tandem mass spectrometry in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) mode was optimized to obtain better specificity and sensitivity. Analyte signals were evaluated for stability and reproducibility. Calibration with [2H3]propionylcarnitine (C3-d3), [2H3]octanoylcarnitine (C8-d3), and [2H3] palmitoylcarnitine (C16-d3) as internal standards was used for quantification. Very good linearity was obtained, with correlation coefficients >0.99 for C0–C12 and C16 acylcarnitines and >0.96 for C14 and C18 acylcarnitines. Accuracy and precision (RSD, %) of the proposed procedure were tested at concentrations of 0.8, 8, and 20 mg L?1 with very satisfactory results: overall mean accuracy was 98.9 % and overall mean relative standard deviation 1 %. Limits of detection (LOD) between 6 and 208 μg L?1 for propionylcarnitine and tetradecanoylcarnitine, respectively, can be regarded as very satisfactory. Application of the method to real urine proved that paper spray tandem mass spectrometry is a simple, rapid, and direct tool (no derivatization is required) for assay of carnitine and C2–C12 acylcarnitines in urine.  相似文献
