Several CeO(2)-based mixed oxides with general composition Ce(1-x)Ln(x)O(2-x/2) (for 0 ≤ x ≤ 1 and Ln = La, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Er, or Yb) were prepared using an initial oxalic precipitation leading to a homogeneous distribution of cations in the oxides. After characterization of the Ce/Nd oxalate precursors and then thermal conversion to oxides at T = 1000 °C, investigation of the crystalline structure of these oxides was carried out by XRD and μ-Raman spectroscopy. Typical fluorite Fm ?3m structure was obtained for relatively low Ln(III) contents, while a cubic Ia ?3? superstructure was evidenced above x ≈ 0.4. Moreover, since Nd(2)O(3) does not crystallize with the Ia ?3?-type structure, two-phase systems composed with additional hexagonal Nd(2)O(3) were obtained for x(Nd) ≥ 0.73 in the Ce(1-x)Nd(x)O(2-x/2) series. The effect of heat treatment temperature on these limits was explored through μ-Raman spectroscopy, which allowed determining the presence of small amounts of the different crystal structures observed. In addition, the variation of the Ce(1-x)Ln(x)O(2-x/2) unit cell parameter was found to follow a quadratic relation as a result of the combination between increasing cationic radius, modifications of cation coordination, and decreasing O-O repulsion caused by oxygen vacancies.  相似文献

Three peroxomanganese(III) complexes [Mn(III)(O(2))(mL(5)(2))](+), [Mn(III)(O(2))(imL(5)(2))](+), and [Mn(III)(O(2))(N4py)](+) supported by pentadentate ligands (mL(5)(2) = N-methyl-N,N',N'-tris(2-pyridylmethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine, imL(5)(2) = N-methyl-N,N',N'-tris((1-methyl-4-imidazolyl)methyl)ethane-1,2-diamine, and N4py = N,N-bis(2-pyridylmethyl)-N-bis(2-pyridyl)methylamine) were generated by treating Mn(II) precursors with H(2)O(2) or KO(2). Electronic absorption, magnetic circular dichroism (MCD), and variable-temperature, variable-field MCD data demonstrate that these complexes have very similar electronic transition energies and ground-state zero-field splitting parameters, indicative of nearly identical coordination geometries. Because of uncertainty in peroxo (side-on η(2) versus end-on η(1)) and ligand (pentadentate versus tetradentate) binding modes, density functional theory (DFT) computations were used to distinguish between three possible structures: pentadentate ligand binding with (i) a side-on peroxo and (ii) an end-on peroxo, and (iii) tetradentate ligand binding with a side-on peroxo. Regardless of the supporting ligand, isomers with a side-on peroxo and the supporting ligand bound in a tetradentate fashion were identified as most stable by >20 kcal/mol. Spectroscopic parameters computed by time-dependent (TD) DFT and multireference SORCI methods provided validation of these isomers on the basis of experimental data. Hexacoordination is thus strongly preferred for peroxomanganese(III) adducts, and dissociation of a pyridine (mL(5)(2) and N4py) or imidazole (imL(5)(2)) arm is thermodynamically favored. In contrast, DFT computations for models of [Fe(III)(O(2))(mL(5)(2))](+) demonstrate that pyridine dissociation is not favorable; instead a seven-coordinate ferric center is preferred. These different results are attributed to the electronic configurations of the metal centers (high spin d(5) and d(4) for Fe(III) and Mn(III), respectively), which results in population of a metal-peroxo σ-antibonding molecular orbital and, consequently, longer M-O(peroxo) bonds for peroxoiron(III) species.  相似文献

The de novo synthesis of carbohydrates constitutes an important aspect of organic chemistry, and its application toward deoxy sugars is particularly noteworthy in targeting biologically active compounds. The enantioselective preparation of 4-deoxy-D-ribo-, 4-deoxy-D-lyxo-, and 4-deoxy-D-xylo-hexopyranosides, along with their uronate counterparts has been successfully accomplished using hetero-Diels-Alder reactions as the key step. Jacobsen chromium(III) catalyst and a titanium-binaphthol complex have been used to successfully catalyze diene and aldehyde cycloadditions, leading to optically active dihydropyran templates. 6-Hydroxydesosamine, orthogonally protected ezoaminuroic acid, and neosidomycin were synthesized using a comparative study. Also, a novel chiron approach to 4-deoxy-lyxo-hexopyranosiduronic acid methyl ester derivatives was efficiently accomplished starting from readily accessible starting materials. This work represents a systematic and comprehensive study toward a de novo synthesis of 4-deoxy-hexopyranoses via enantioselective hetero-Diels-Alder reactions.  相似文献

In the present paper we report direct experimental evidence of the existence of hydrogen bonds between poly(3,4-(ethylenedioxy)thiophene) (PEDOT) and DNA complexes and bring deeper knowledge about how such interactions can take place in such species. To this end, we used both experimental and theoretical methodologies to examine the interactions between the building blocks composing these two macromolecules. The specific interaction natures between 3,4-(ethylenedioxy)thiophene (EDOT, E) and doubly protonated guanine (GH(2)(2+)) monomers have been investigated using UV-vis spectroscopy. Quantum mechanical calculations in the density functional theory (DFT) and time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT) frameworks have been used to identify the structures of the possible complexes. These differ in the interaction pattern, and it was possible to interpret the absorption spectra in terms of intermolecular interactions. Our results allow verification of the previous hypothesis about the formation of specific N-H···O interactions between G-containing nucleotide sequences and PEDOT. Clearly, DFT calculations indicate that E:GH(2)(2+) complexes are stabilized by N-H···O interactions, which involve an E oxygen and the -NH and -NH(2) moieties of GH(2)(2+). Furthermore, TDDFT calculations are able to reproduce the absorption spectra (both energy gaps and relative oscillator strength magnitudes) of E and GH(2)(2+), as well as the complex.  相似文献

Non-nuclear local maxima, or attractors, of electron density are a rare but very interesting feature of the electron density distribution in molecules and solids. Recently, non-nuclear attractors (NNAs) and the corresponding pseudoatoms of electron density have been identified with the quantum theory of atoms in molecules for some anionic clusters formed by several polar solvent molecules and an excess electron bound in either a solvated-electron or dipole-bound fashion. This contribution reports a detailed study of the topology of the electron density for a series of dipole-bound water cluster anions, as calculated with Hartree-Fock, M?ller-Plesset perturbation theory, and coupled-cluster methods together with basis sets augmented with extra diffuse basis functions to accommodate the excess electron. For dipole-bound clusters, electron densities obtained with insufficient inclusion of electron correlation effects and tight basis sets feature a well-pronounced pseudoatom due to the excess electron, which ultimately disappears when a higher level of electronic structure theory and a more diffuse basis set are used. On the other hand, for solvated-electron clusters, where the excess electron is surrounded by solvent molecules, the existence of NNAs does not seem to be an artifact of the method employed, but rather a genuine feature of the electron density distribution. Pseudoatoms of electron density thus appear to be an exclusive feature of confined environments and are unlikely to be found on the tip of a cluster dipole or on solid surfaces.  相似文献

The conformational manifolds, scenarios of protonation, and hydrogen bond propensity of methyl formate and its mono and difluoro derivatives, which possess two oxygen atoms with different basicities, are studied at the B3LYP/6-311++G(3df,3pd) computational level. The optimized geometries of the title molecules, their energetics, and relevant harmonic vibrational frequencies, mainly of the ν(CH) mode of the H-C═O group, are of a primary focus. The Natural Bond Orbital analysis is invoked to obtain the second-order intra- or intermolecular hyperconjugation energies, occupations of antibonding orbitals, and hybridization of the carbon atoms. It is demonstrated that the Z conformers (and their rotamers) of the three title molecules are characterized by a higher stability compared to the E ones. The stabilities depend on the intramolecular hyperconjugative interaction and on the attraction or repulsion nonbonded interaction. The proton affinity of the carbonyl oxygen exceeds, by 15-20 kcal·mol(-1), that of the methoxy oxygen. Fluorine substitution causes a moderate lowering of the proton affinity of the oxygens. Protonation on the oxygen atoms yields a contraction of the C-H bond and large concomitant blue shift of the ν(CH) vibration. These changes are mainly determined by a lowering of the occupation of the corresponding σ*(CH) orbitals. The esters under consideration are probed on the interaction with the HF molecule. The complexes that are formed under this interaction on the oxygen of the H-C═O group are stronger than those formed on the oxygen belonging to the methoxy one. It is deduced that the hydrogen bond energies show a linear dependence on the proton affinities of the corresponding oxygen atoms. Hydrogen-bonded complexes of moderate strength are also formed, while HF interacts with the fluorine atoms of the fluorinated esters.  相似文献

The N-hexanoyl-homoserine lactone (C6-HSL) molecule has been investigated by means of infrared multiphoton dissociation (IRMPD) and Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) under different conditions in an attempt to mimic biological situations encountered in communication between bacteria for quorum sensing. The protonated molecular ion was studied in the gas-phase that corresponds to a solvent-free situation somewhat analogous to that encountered in the receptor. The simulation of the IRMPD spectrum of the isolated ion was then conducted by means of quantum chemistry calculations in vacuum. In the case of the neutral species, the FT-IR spectra were recorded in D(2)O, mimicking the cytosolic and extracellular media as well as in 1-octanol that is often used for simulation of cell membranes. The interpretation was conducted by considering a C6-HSL molecule in its endo or exo conformation hydrogen-bonded to, respectively, six D(2)O and four 1-octanol molecules. A satisfying agreement with the experimental FT-IR studies conducted in solution at room temperature was obtained as long as a continuum IEFPCM model was added to the explicit solvent environment.  相似文献
