In this review, we are reporting the catalytic reforming of liquid hydrocarbon fuels carried out in our research group, covering the catalytic reforming of iso-octane and toluene as surrogate of gasoline, gasoline fuel processor system and steam reforming of n-hexadecane and decahydronaphthalene, main constituents of diesel. The commercial ICI reforming catalyst is prone to be poisoned by sulfur contained in iso-octane. We investigated various supported transition metal formulations and developed Ni/Fe/MgO/Al2O3 (KIST-5) catalyst with prolonged catalytic stability (>760 h), higher activity and sulfur tolerance ability over commercial ICI and HT catalysts for ATR reaction of iso-octane. We found that the concentration of CO can be reduced to <1,800 ppm by the gasoline fuel processor system charged with KIST-5 reforming catalyst, commercial HTS catalyst and KIST Pt–Ni/CeO2 LTS catalyst. The addition of Rh metal to spc-Ni/MgAl catalyst as promoter was found to be very effective in inhibiting the deactivation of spc-Ni/MgAl catalyst by sintering of reduced Ni metal at high temperature during steam reforming of n-hexadecane. A 0.3 wt% Rh loading on spc-Ni/MgAl catalyst was optimized to have the best performance for steam reforming of n-hexadecane among the prepared catalysts. The addition of Rh to spc-Ni/MgAl catalyst also restricted the deactivation of the catalyst due to carbon formation at high reaction temperature. In view point of prolonged stability and higher activity, these developed reforming catalysts have a good scope in the reforming process of gasoline and diesel for hydrogen station and fuel processor system applications.  相似文献

Given a tournament T?=?(X, A), we consider two tournament solutions applied to T: Slater’s solution and Copeland’s solution. Slater’s solution consists in determining the linear orders obtained by reversing a minimum number of directed edges of T in order to make T transitive. Copeland’s solution applied to T ranks the vertices of T according to their decreasing out-degrees. The aim of this paper is to compare the results provided by these two methods: to which extent can they lead to different orders? We consider three cases: T is any tournament, T is strongly connected, T has only one Slater order. For each one of these three cases, we specify the maximum of the symmetric difference distance between Slater orders and Copeland orders. More precisely, thanks to a result dealing with arc-disjoint circuits in circular tournaments, we show that this maximum is equal to n(n???1)/2 if T is any tournament on an odd number n of vertices, to (n 2???3n?+?2)/2 if T is any tournament on an even number n of vertices, to n(n???1)/2 if T is strongly connected with an odd number n of vertices, to (n 2???3n???2)/2 if T is strongly connected with an even number n of vertices greater than or equal to 8, to (n 2???5n?+?6)/2 if T has an odd number n of vertices and only one Slater order, to (n 2???5n?+?8)/2 if T has an even number n of vertices and only one Slater order.  相似文献

This paper proposes to use local search inside filtering algorithms of combinatorial structures for which achieving a desired level of consistency is too computationally expensive. Local search quickly provides supports for many variable-value pairs, thus reducing the effort required to check and potentially filter the rest of them. The idea is demonstrated on the SomeDifferent constraint, a graph coloring substructure. An experimental evaluation confirms its significant computational gain in many cases.  相似文献

The main purpose of this paper is to introduce and investigate a new class of generalized Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials based on a definition given by Natalini and Bernardini (2003) [22] for the generalized Bernoulli polynomials. We obtain a generalization of the Srivastava–Pintér addition theorem (Srivastava and Pintér (2004) [23]). We also give a list of expressions involving special functions that could be used to obtain some analogues of the Srivastava–Pintér addition theorem. Finally, we give an analogue featuring the new class of generalized Apostol–Bernoulli polynomials.  相似文献

In the investigation of chemical pollutants, such as PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) at low concentration in aqueous medium, Surface-Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) stands for an alternative to the inherent low cross-section of normal Raman scattering. Indeed, SERS is a very sensitive spectroscopic technique due to the excitation of the surface plasmon modes of the nanostructured metallic film. The surface of quartz substrates was coated with a hydrophobic film obtained by silanization and subsequently reacted with polystyrene (PS) beads coated with gold nanoparticles. The hydrophobic surface of the SERS substrates pre-concentrates non-polar molecules such as naphthalene. Under laser excitation, the SERS-active substrates allow the detection and the identification of the target molecules localized close to the gold nanoparticles. The morphology of the SERS substrates based on polystyrene beads surrounded by gold nanoparticles was characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Furthermore, the Raman fingerprint of the polystyrene stands for an internal spectral reference. To this extent, an innovative method to detect and to quantify organic molecules, as naphthalene in the range of 1 to 20 ppm, in aqueous media was carried out. Such SERS-active substrates tend towards an application as quantitative SERS sensors for the environmental analysis of naphthalene.  相似文献

In order to facilitate the determination of the primary and secondary origin of atmospheric organic aerosols, a novel method involving chiral capillary gas chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry has been developed and validated. The method was focused on the analysis of 2-methylerythritol and 2-methylthreitol, considered to be tracers of secondary organic aerosols from the oxidation of atmospheric isoprene. The method was validated by performing various tests using authentic standards, including pure enantiomeric standards. The result showed that the analytical method itself does not affect the enantiomeric composition of the samples analyzed. The method was applied on atmospheric aerosols from a boreal forest collected in Aspvreten, Sweden and on laboratory samples obtained from liquid phase oxidation of isoprene and smog chamber experiments. Aerosol samples contained one enantiomer of 2-methylerythritol in significantly larger quantities than the others. In contrast, the liquid-phase oxidation of isoprene and its gas-phase oxidation in the smog chamber produced all enantiomers in equal quantities. The results obtained where the enantiomer fraction, EF, is larger than 0.50 suggest that 2-methyltetrols in atmospheric aerosols may also have biological origin. Information about the differences between enantiomer fractions obtained using this method brings new insights in the area of atmospheric aerosols.  相似文献

The adsorption behavior of poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(L-lysine) (PEO(113)-b-PLL(10)) copolymer onto silica nanoparticles was investigated in phosphate buffer at pH 7.4 by means of dynamic light scattering, zeta potential, adsorption isotherms and microcalorimetry measurements. Both blocks have an affinity for the silica surface through hydrogen bonding (PEO and PLL) or electrostatic interactions (PLL). Competitive adsorption experiments from a mixture of PEO and PLL homopolymers evidenced greater interactions of PLL with silica while displacement experiments even revealed that free PLL chains could desorb PEO chains from the particle surface. This allowed us to better understand the adsorption mechanism of PEO-b-PLL copolymer at the silica surface. At low surface coverage, both blocks adsorbed in flat conformation leading to the flocculation of the particles as neither steric nor electrostatic forces could take place at the silica surface. The addition of a large excess of copolymer favoured the dispersion of flocs according to a presumed mechanism where PLL blocks of incoming copolymer chains preferentially adsorbed to the surface by displacing already adsorbed PEO blocks. The gradual addition of silica particles to an excess of PEO-b-PLL copolymer solution was the preferred method for particle coating as it favoured equilibrium conditions where the copolymer formed an anchor-buoy (PLL-PEO) structure with stabilizing properties at the silica-water interface.  相似文献

In this contribution we present two ligands based on a do3a platform containing a picolinate group attached to the fourth nitrogen atom of the cyclen unit, which are designed for stable lanthanide complexation in aqueous solutions. Potentiometric measurements reveal that the thermodynamic stability of the complexes is very high (log K = 21.2-23.5), being comparable to that of the dota analogues. Luminescence lifetime measurements performed on solutions of the Eu(III) and Tb(III) complexes indicate that the complexes are nine coordinate with no inner-sphere water molecules. A combination of density functional theory (DFT) calculations and NMR measurements shows that for the complexes of the heaviest lanthanides there is a major isomer in solution consisting of the enantiomeric pair Λ(δδδδ) and Δ(λλλλ), which provides square antiprismatic coordination (SAP) around the metal ion. Analysis of the Yb(III)-induced paramagnetic shifts unambiguously confirms that these complexes have SAP coordination in aqueous solution. For the light lanthanide ions however both the SAP and twisted-square antiprismatic (TSAP) isomers are present in solution. Inversion of the cyclen ring appears to be the rate-determining step for the Λ(δδδδ) ? Δ(λλλλ) enantiomerization process observed in the Lu(III) complexes. The energy barriers obtained from NMR measurements for this dynamic process are in excellent agreement with those predicted by DFT calculations. The energy barriers calculated for the arm-rotation process are considerably lower than those obtained for the ring-inversion path. Kinetic studies show that replacement of an acetate arm of dota by a picolinate pendant results in a 3-fold increase in the formation rate of the corresponding Eu(III) complexes and a significant increase of the rates of acid-catalyzed dissociation of the complexes. However, these rates are 1-2 orders of magnitude lower than those of do3a analogues, which shows that the complexes reported herein are remarkably inert with respect to metal ion dissociation.  相似文献

We report the syntheses, crystal structures, and magnetic properties of KMn(2)(H(3)O(2))(MoO(4))(2) (MnH), KMn(2)(D(3)O(2))(MoO(4))(2) (MnD), KFe(2)(H(3)O(2))(MoO(4))(2) (FeH), KFe(2)(D(3)O(2))(MoO(4))(2) (FeD), KCo(2)(H(3)O(2))(MoO(4))(2) (CoH), and KCo(2)(D(3)O(2))(MoO(4))(2) (CoD), and the magnetic structures of MnD and FeD. They belong to the structural variant (space group I2/m) of the mineral natrochalcite NaCu(2)(H(3)O(2))(SO(4))(2) (space group C2/m) where the diagonal within the ac-plane of the latter become one axis of the former. The structure of MnD, obtained from Rietveld refinement of a high-resolution neutron pattern taken at 300 K, consists of chains of edge-sharing octahedra bridged by MoO(4) and D(3)O(2) to form layers, which are connected to K through the oxygen atoms to form the three-dimensional (3D)-network. The X-ray powder diffraction patterns of the other two compounds were found to belong to the same space group with similar parameters. The magnetic susceptibilities of MnH and FeH exhibit long-range ordering of the moments at a Ne?el temperature of 8 and 11 K, respectively, which are accompanied by additional strong Bragg reflections in the neutron diffraction in the ordered state, consistent with antiferromagnetism. Analyses of the neutron data for MnD and FeD reveal the presence of both long- and short-range orderings and commensurate magnetic structures with a propagation vector of (?, 0, ?). The moments are antiferromagnetically ordered within the chains with alternation between chains to generate four nonequivalent nuclear unit cells. For MnD the moments are perpendicular to the chain axis (b-axis) while for FeD they are parallel to the b-axis. The overall total is a fully compensated magnetic structure with zero moment in each case. Surprisingly, for KCo(2)(D(3)O(2))(MoO(4))(2) neither additional peaks nor increase of the nuclear peaks' intensities were observed in the neutron diffraction patterns below the magnetic anomaly at 12 K which was identified to originate from a small quantity of a ferromagnetic compound, Co(2)(OH)(2)MoO(4).  相似文献

Using time‐dependent density functional theory and the polarizable continuum model, we have simulated the absorption spectra of an extended series of azobenzene dyes. First, we have determined a theoretical level optimal for this important class of dyes, and it turned out that a C‐PCM‐CAM‐B3LYP/6‐311+G(d,p)//C‐PCM‐B3LYP/6‐311G(d,p) approach represents an effective compromise between chemical accuracy and computational cost. In a second stage, we have compared the theoretical and experimental transition energies for 46 n → π and 141 π → π excitations. For the full set, that spans over a 302–565 nm domain, we obtained a mean absolute deviation of 13 nm (0.10 eV) and a linear correlation coefficient of 0.95, illustrating the accuracy of our approach, though some significant outliers pertained. In a last step, the impact of several modifications, that is, trans/cis isomerization, variation of the acidity of the medium and azo/hydrazo tautomerism have been modeled with two functionals. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
