Interdiffusion of hydroxyl groups and of doping additions between a bearing pipe and a deposited layer in billets of fiber light guides

Using Raman spectroscopy, a quantitative analysis of the distribution of OH⁻ ions on the boundary between a bearing pipe and a glass layer deposited from chlorides in billets for quartz fiber light guides is carried out. Water penetrated into the light-reflecting shell to a depth of several tenths of a millimeter, depending on the composition of the doping layer (i.e., ultimately on the temperature of the depsoition process). Electronic phase separation in a low-temperature tetragonal phase of lanthanum-strontium cuprates according to 139La NQR data

A nonuniform electron density distribution is observed in La_{1−x− y} Nd_ySr_xCuO₄ and La_1−x−y Eu_ySr_xCuO₄, and long-lived magnetic fluctuations in these compounds are studied. The dynamics of the magnetic fluctuations depends strongly on the magnetic properties of the rare-earth ions, which stabilize the low-temperature tetragonal phase. Pis’ma Zh. éksp. Teor. Change in the nature of the Ni diffusion mechanism on the Si(111) surface with adsorption of Co atoms

The diffusion of Ni on a Si (111) surface is investigated by LEED and Auger electron spectroscopy. It is found that, in contrast to the process on the initially clean Si (111)−7×7 surface, on Si (111) surfaces with submonolayer Co coverages the nature of the Ni transport mechanism changes at a temperature of about 750 °C, and the Ni surface diffusion coefficients increase sharply below this temperature. Application of a separating transformation to estimates of inner radii of open sets

We obtain solutions of new extremal problems of the geometric theory of functions of a complex variable related to estimates for the inner radii of nonoverlapping domains. Singular numbers of the monodromy operator and sufficient conditions of the asymptotic stability of periodic system of differential equations with fixed delay

To obtain sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability of linear periodic systems with fixed delay commensurable with the period of coefficients, singular numbers of the monodromy operator are used. To find these numbers, a self-adjoint boundary value problem for ordinary differential equations is applied. We study the motion of eigenvalues of this boundary value problem under a variation of a parameter. Obtaining sufficient conditions for the asymptotic stability is reduced to finding the bifurcation value of the parameter for the boundary value problem.     

Interaction between large and small signals in a resonant transmission line based on magnetostatic waves

The influence of a large signal on the characteristics of a small signal near the frequency of the former is experimentally studied for the case of their simultaneous propagation through a resonant transmission line based on backward volume magnetostatic waves. The effects observed are caused by the excitation of spin waves in a ferromagnetic film at different large-signal frequencies and by the back influence of excited spin-wave packets on the amplitude and phase characteristics of the small signal.     

Utilization of waste solutions in perovskite technology

A scheme for utilization of chloride solutions of complex composition with α-and β-activity of up to 35 and 28 kBq 1^?1, respectively, is suggested.     

On a certain nonlocal problem for a hyperbolic equation

The author proves the existence and uniqueness of a generalized solution of a nonlocal problem with an integral condition for a hyperbolic equation with n spatial variables. Electronic spectrum and ballistic transport in a helical nanotube

A model of a helical nanotube permitting analytical calculation of the spectrum and wave functions is proposed and studied. It is shown that the specific character of the symmetry of the Hamiltonian results in an electronic spectrum having no band structure despite the periodicity of the potential along the system axis. A two-dimensional ribbon rolled into a helix and a quasi-one-dimensional helix in a magnetic field are considered as limiting cases of the model. It is shown that the presence of additional local minima in the subbands of the electronic spectrum leads to a nonmonotonic dependence of the ballistic conductance of the system on the chemical potential.     

First synthesis of magnesacyclopentadienes from acetylenes by treatment with BuMgHlg in the presence of Zr complexes

Treatment of internal acetylenes and allenes with BuMgHlg (Hlg = Cl, Br) in the presence of Cp₂ZrCl₂ selectively leads to the formation of substituted magnesacyclopenta-2,4-dienes and alkylidenemagnesacyclopentenes.
