This research work was executed to determine chemical composition, anti-oxidant and anti-microbial potential of the essential oils extracted from the leaves and stem of Daphne mucronata Royle. From leaves and stem oils fifty-one different constituents were identified through GC/MS examination. The antioxidant potential evaluated through DPPH free radical scavenging activity and %-inhibition of peroxidation in linoleic acid system. The stem’s essential oil showed the good antioxidant activity as compared to leaves essential oil. Results of Antimicrobial activity revealed that both stem and leaves oils showed strong activity against Candida albicans with large inhibition zone (22.2?±?0.01, 18.9?±?0.20 mm) and lowest MIC values (0.98?±?0.005, 2.44?±?0.002 mg/mL) respectively. Leaves essential was also active against Escherichia coli with inhibition zone of 8.88?±?0.01 mm and MIC values of 11.2?±?0.40 mg/mL. These results suggested that the plant’s essential oils would be a potential cradle for the natural product based antimicrobial as well as antioxidant agents.

A series of mixed-ligand copper(II) chelates containing the anion of 2-hydroxyaryloxime(oxime) and N,N-disubstituted dithiocarbamate(dtc), [Cu(dtc)(oxime)], was prepared and characterised. The spectra (IR, ESR, electronic excitation) indicate that the CuNOS2 chromophore attains square planar geometry. The ESR observables suggest appreciable covalency. In the case of [Cu(Et2dtc)(oxime)] chelates, however, the observed data suggest distortion from square planar arrangement to a square pyramidal, indicative of a possible dimerism. In addition, the structure of the trans-bis[propanone, 1-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-oximato]copper(II), Cu(C9H10NO2)2 was determined by X-ray diffraction (monoclinic, space group P21/n, a = 12.072(7) Å, b = 5.204(2) Å, c = 13.571(6) Å, β = 103.72(1)°, Z = 2). The molecule consists of discrete Cu(ppox)2 monomeric units, where the Cu atom is in the equatorial plane bonded to two nitrogen atoms and two oxygen at distances of 1.949(2) and 1.882(2) Å, respectively.  相似文献

Two semicrystalline low band gap polymers based on highly electron‐deficient 2,1,3‐benzothiadiazole‐5,6‐dicarboxylicimide (BTI) were synthesized by considering the chain planarity via intrachain noncovalent coulombic interactions. The thiophene‐BTI and thienothiophene‐BTI based PPDTBTI and PPDTTBTI have a low band gap (~1.5 eV) via strong intramolecular charge transfer interaction, showing a broad light absorption covering 300~850 nm. Semicrystalline film morphology was observed for both polymers in the grazing incidence wide angle X‐ray scattering measurements. Interestingly, PPDTBTI showed a pronounced edge on packing structure but PPDTTBTI showed predominantly a face on orientation in both pristine and blend films. Different packing patterns influenced significantly the charge carrier transport, recombination and resulting photovoltaic characteristics. The best power conversion efficiency was measured to be 5.47% for PPDTBTI and 6.78% for PPDTTBTI, by blending with the fullerene derivative, PC71BM. Compared to the PPDTBTI blend, PPDTTBTI: PC71BM suffered from the lower open‐circuit voltage but showed the substantially higher hole mobility and short‐circuit current density with smaller charge recombination, showing very good agreements with molecular structures and morphological characteristics. © 2016 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. We propose and demonstrate directed optical digital logic function which can perform several logic gates using a single microring resonator. The mode operations achieved are logic buffer, inverter, AND, NAND, OR and NOR operations. Numerical simulations, in order to analyze its static as well as dynamic responses, are carried out. In addition, we also present the fundamental numerical principles used by the simulation software in order to fully justify the simulation results. These principles are divided into three components, structure based free carrier distribution principles, change in refractive index of the waveguide and the scattering analysis on the microring resonator coupling region.  相似文献

Abstract

It is fairly common, following a principal component analysis, to rotate components in order to simplify their structure. Here, we propose an alternative to this two-stage procedure which involves only one stage and combines the objectives of variance maximization and simplification. It is shown, using examples, that the new technique can provide alternative ways of interpreting a dataset. Some properties of the technique are investigated using a simulation study.  相似文献

Two new acylated flavonol glycosides, 3‐O‐{[2‐O‐β‐D ‐glucopyranosyl]‐3‐[O‐β‐D ‐glucopyranosyl]‐4‐[(6‐Op‐coumaroyl)‐O‐β‐D ‐glucopyranosyl]}‐α‐L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐kaempferol 7‐O‐α‐L ‐rhamnopyranoside and 3‐O‐{2‐[(6‐Op‐coumaroyl)‐O‐β‐D ‐glucopyranosyl]‐3‐[O‐β‐D ‐glucopyranosyl]‐4‐[(6‐Op‐coumaroyl)‐O‐β‐D ‐glucopyranosyl]}‐α‐L ‐rhamnopyranosyl‐kaempferol 7‐O‐α‐L ‐rhamnopyranoside, trivially named as brauhenefloroside E (1) and F (2), respectively, were isolated from the fruits of Stocksia brauhica and their structures were elucidated using spectroscopic methods, including 2D NMR experiments. Contamination has previously been invoked to explain the flat shape and the long lifetimes of interfacial nanobubbles (INBs). In this study, the effects of surfactants on the formation and the stability of INBs were investigated when surfactants were added to the system before, during, and after the standard solvent exchange procedure (SSEP) for the formation of INBs. The solutions of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) above critical micelle concentration were found to have little effect on the bubble stability. Likewise, cleaning of the substrate with a surfactant solution had little effect. In contrast, addition of a water-insoluble surfactant during the formation dramatically reduced the INBs. Finally, repeated application of SSEP to surfactant-coated substrates progressively rinsed the surfactant off the system. Thus, we found no evidence to support the hypothesis that (1) INBs are stabilized by a layer of insoluble organic contaminant or that (2) SSEP introduces surface-active materials to the system that could stabilize INBs.  相似文献
