Vibrational redistribution effects in the time resolved emission of isolated pyrene molecules

Arguments are given that the appearance of a short component in the fluorescence decay of pyrene after excitation in a vibronic origin of the S₀ → S₁ transition, has to be ascribed to a redistribution of vibrational energy of the inducing mode over the other vibrational modes in the molecule.     

The Iterative Convex Minorant Algorithm for Nonparametric Estimation

Abstract

The problem of minimizing a smooth convex function over a specific cone in IRⁿ is frequently encountered in nonparametric statistics. For that type of problem we suggest an algorithm and show that this algorithm converges to the solution of the minimization problem. Moreover, a simulation study is presented, showing the superiority of our algorithm compared to the EM algorithm in the interval censoring case 2 setting.
