Investigation of the chemical state of ultrathin Hf-Al-O films during high temperature annealing

Al₂O₃ incorporated HfO₂ films grown by atomic layer deposition (ALD) were investigated by high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (HRXPS). The core level energy state of a 15 Å thick film showed a shift to higher binding energy, as the result of a silicate formation and Al₂O₃ incorporation. The incorporation of Al₂O₃ into the HfO₂ film had no effect on silicate formation at the interface between the film and Si, while the ionic bonding characteristics and hybridization effects were enhanced compared to a pure HfO₂ film. The dissociation of the film in an ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) is effectively suppressed compared to a pure HfO₂ film, indicating an enhanced thermal stability of Hf-Al-O. Any dissociated Al₂O₃ on the film surface was completely removed into the vacuum by vacuum annealing treatment over 850 °C, while HfO₂ contributed to Hf silicide formation on the film surface.     

One Alkenylphenol and Steroids from the Aquatic Plant Monochoria Vaginalis

Two new compounds have been isolated from the whole plant of Monochoria vaginalis and characterized as: (10Z)‐1‐(2,6‐dihydroxyphenyl)octadec‐10‐en‐1‐one ( 1 ) (20R, 24R)‐campest‐5‐ene‐3β, 4β‐diol ( 2 ) together with nine known ones. The structures of these compounds were elucidated on the basis of spectral data and chemical evidence.     

Preparation and microwave absorption properties of electroless Co-Ni-P coated strontium ferrite powder

A new type of Co-Ni-P coated strontium ferrite nanocomposite was prepared with electroless plating enhanced by ultrasonic wave at room temperature. The plating process was studied carefully. The morphology, crystal structure and microwave absorption properties of the Co-Ni-P coated powder were studied with field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), energy dispersive analysis of X-rays (EDX) and vector network analyzer. The results show that the strontium ferrite powder was successfully coated with Co-Ni-P alloy and possesses excellent microwave absorption properties. The maximum microwave loss of the composite powder reaches −44.12 dB. The bandwidth with the loss above −10 dB exceeds 13.8 GHz.     

Insight into chain dimensions in PEO/water solutions

Small‐Angle Neutron Scattering has been performed from poly(ethylene oxide) in deuterated water at temperature ranging from 10 to 80 °C. A simple fitting model was used to obtain a correlation length and a Porod exponent. The correlation length L characterizes the average distance between entanglements in the semidilute region and is proportional to the individual coil sizes in the dilute region. L was found to increase with temperature in the semidilute region but it decreases with temperature in the dilute region. This decrease is the precursor to the single‐chain collapse which applies to very dilute polymer solutions. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 45: 2196–2200, 2007     

Several parameters of generalized Mycielskians

The generalized Mycielskians (also known as cones over graphs) are the natural generalization of the Mycielski graphs (which were first introduced by Mycielski in 1955). Given a graph G and any integer m?0, one can transform G into a new graph μ_m(G), the generalized Mycielskian of G. This paper investigates circular clique number, total domination number, open packing number, fractional open packing number, vertex cover number, determinant, spectrum, and biclique partition number of μ_m(G).     

脉冲激光偏振方向对氮分子高次谐波的影响——基于含时密度泛函理论的模拟

采用含时密度泛函方法,结合赝势模型和电子交换相关作用的广义梯度近似,模拟了氮分子在超强飞秒激光脉冲作用下的高次谐波产生现象,并研究了激光脉冲偏振方向对氮分子高次谐波的影响.结果表明氮分子的高次谐波谱具有典型原子谐波谱的特征;谐波谱强度随着θ(激光偏振方向与分子轴向夹角)的增大而减小.这与J.Itatanl在Nature上报道的实验结果基本一致.     

SiO2-羟基表面上金属原子的第一性原理研究

采用第一性原理方法研究了SiO2-羟基表面上几种金属原子的吸附性质,发现In和Ga在SiO2-羟基表面上的结合很弱,而Fe,Co,Ni在该表面上与Si,O形成强的化学键.等势能面和扩散势垒计算表明In(Ga)的扩散激活能只有0.1-0.3 eV,表明这两种原子容易在表面上扩散.这些结果可以定性地解释纳米合成中的一些实验现象.     

Spin tunneling properties in mesoscopic magnets: effects of a magnetic field

The tunneling of a giant spin at excited levels is studied theoretically in mesoscopic magnets with a magnetic field at an arbitrary angle in the easy plane. Different structures of the tunneling barriers can be generated by the magnetocrystalline anisotropy, the magnitude and the orientation of the field. By calculating the nonvacuum instanton solution explicitly, we obtain the tunnel splittings and the tunneling rates for different angle ranges of the external magnetic field ( θ _H = π/2 and π/2 < θ _H < π). The temperature dependences of the decay rates are clearly shown for each case. It is found that the tunneling rate and the crossover temperature depend on the orientation of the external magnetic field. This feature can be tested with the use of existing experimental techniques. Received 12 March 2001 and Received in final form 18 October 2001
