Synthesis oftert-butyl substituted polymethine 1-benzothiopyrylium dyestuffs

A series of polymethine thiopyrylium dyestuffs of symmetrical and unsymmetrical structure, containing one to fourtert-butyl groups, has been synthesized from 6-tert-butyl-2-(p-tert-butylphenyl)-4-methyl-, 4,6-di(tert-butyl)-2-methyl-, and 6-tert-butyl-2,4-dimethyl-1-benzothiopyrylium perchlorates.     

Synthesis of carbon nanofibers by catalytic pyrolysis of ethylene in the presence of vapors of volatile components

Catalytic pyrolysis of ethylene was carried out at 700 °C in the presence of vapors of H₂O, EtOH, NH₄OH, PCl₃, (MeO)₃P, Me₂SO₄, (MeO)₃B, and HCl. The composition of solid pyrolysis products was studied using the elemental analysis, X-ray diffraction analysis, and electron microscopy. The composition of the gaseous pyrolysis products was studied using mass spectrometry. The processes in the gas phase were characterized, and the relationship between conditions of ethylene pyrolysis and the structure of formed carbon nanofibers was revealed. The introduction of gaseous additives has a substantial effect on the formation, growth, and structure of the carbon nanofibers formed.     

Oxidation of pentafluoro-N-(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzylidene) aniline

Conclusions The reaction of pentafluoro-N-(2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzylidene) aniline with peracetlc acid or 90% hydrogen peroxide in CH₂Cl₂ at 20°C yields -pentafluoroanilino-2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzylhydroperoxide. Its capability for thermal and photolytic transformation into bis (-pentafluoroanilino-2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorobenzyl) peroxide was shown.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Seriya Khimicheskaya, No. 3, pp. 665–668, March, 1985.     

2-[2-(Dimethylamino)vinyl]-6-pentafluorophenyl-4-phenylpyrylium perchlorate and its hydrolysis products: Synthesis and isomerism

2-(2-(Dimethylamino)vinyll-6 pentafluorophenyl-4-phenylpyryliunt perchlorate has been synthesized and it was shown that it is readily converted into 2-fornrylntethylene-6-pentafluorophenyl-4-phenyl-2H-pyran on chromatography on alkaline Al₂O₃. Sorption properties of a composite material based on titanium phosphate in relation to nonferrous metal ions

Sorption of nonferrous metal ions under static conditions by a composite sorbent based on titanium phosphate was studied. The distribution coefficients and exchange constants for Cu(II), Ni(II), and Co(II) were calculated from the experimental data. The kinetics of the sorption of multiply charged ions from dilute hydrochloric acid solutions was studied, and the diffusion coefficients of exchanging ions were determined.
