Water-soluble carbon-nanohorn-tetrathiafulvalene (CNH-TTF) nanoensembles were prepared by utilizing positively charged pyrene as an assembly medium and characterized by spectroscopy and electron microscopy. Electronic interactions within the nanoensemble were probed by optical spectroscopy, indicating electron transfer between the TTF units and CNHs after light illumination.  相似文献

Several techniques have been applied for the characterization of three PET films surfaces: homopolymer PET film, corona treated PET film and a poly(ethylene terephthalate-co-1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol) film. The objective of this work is to investigate and to apply precise and mutually complementary techniques which give detailled information about theses surfaces, as there are few papers with global and conclusive results. The film surfaces were investigated to support the development of new products and envisage new apllications to the existent films. Scanning electron micrographs, attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR-ATR) and multiple internal reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR-MIR) spectra show that the chemical composition, topography and surface roughness of the films are different. The corona-treated PET film shows high surface tension value due to the major contribution on the polar groups and oxidation level acquired. The copolyester film is much less crystalline than the other films analyzed, as demonstrated by refractive index measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The amorphous structures obtained and the high tension level of the corona-treated films provide a better understanding of the adhesion phenomena. In view of results obtained, one can assume that corona treated films owing to its higher surface tension and films with CHDM owing to its surface amorphization should provide manufacturing industries better processing conditions than films without surface treatment and also higher levels of adhesion to paints and coatings.  相似文献

A proposed theory for evaluating the chain length distribution (CLD) using the numerical fractionation (NF) technique was extended to the vinyl‐divinyl (VDV) copolymerization. The CLD is reconstructed for this system, in which pendant double bond propagation leads to crosslinking and gel formation. The method was earlier developed for a non‐linear free‐radical polymerization scheme where chain transfer to polymer and termination by combination resulted in gel formation. The VDV study presented indicates that the proposed method of weighted summation (WS) accurately predicts the resulting CLDs evaluated using NF.

Fluorographene, a two-dimensional derivative of graphene, is an excellent starting material for the synthesis of graphene derivatives. In this work, a one-step, substrate-free method for the asymmetric functionalization of fluorographene layers with hydroxyl groups by a facile nucleophilic substitution reaction is reported. Such a chemical modification occurs in a biphasic aqueous–organic system under mild conditions, leading to Janus graphene nanosheets functionalized by hydroxyl groups on one side and retaining fluorine atoms on the other. The reported experimental route paves the way for two-dimensional bifacial graphene templates, thus broadening the application potential of graphene materials.  相似文献

A dimeric β-diketiminato ytterbium(II) hydride affects both the two-electron aromatization of 1,3,5,7-cyclooctatetraene (COT) and the more challenging two-electron reduction of polyaromatic hydrocarbons, including naphthalene (E0=−2.60 V). Confirmed by Density Functional Theory calculations, these reactions proceed via consecutive polarized Yb−H/C=C insertion and deprotonation steps to provide the respective ytterbium (II) inverse sandwich complexes and hydrogen gas. These observations highlight the ability of a simple ytterbium(II) hydride to act as a powerful two-electron reductant at room temperature without the necessity of an external electron to initiate the reaction and avoiding radicaloid intermediates.  相似文献

Saturn's satellite Enceladus is proposed to have a soda-type subsurface ocean with temperature able to support life and an iron ore-based core. Here, it was demonstrated that ocean chemistry related to Enceladus can support the development of Fe-based hydrothermal vents, one of the places suggested to be the cradle of life. The Fe-based chemical gardens were characterized with Fourier-transform (FT)IR spectroscopy and XRD. The developed chemobrionic structures catalyzed the condensation polymerization of simple organic prebiotic molecules to kerogens. Further, they could passively catalyze the condensation of the prebiotic molecule formamide to larger polymers, suggesting that elementary biochemical precursors could have emerged in Enceladus.  相似文献

Local depletion of intestinal phosphate triggers changes in bacterial phenotypes that adversely affect the health of the host. This article describes a process for encapsulating phosphates in crosslinked poly(ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA) nanoparticles using inverse miniemulsion polymerization as a drug delivery approach for sustained release of phosphates to the intestinal epithelium. The effects of crosslinker, PEGDA co‐monomer, N‐vinyl pyrrolidone, (NVP) and surfactant concentrations on the nanoparticle size distribution, swelling ratio and monomer conversion are investigated. Increased surfactant and PEGDA concentrations result in smaller particle size and swelling ratio. A copolymerization model of crosslinking is used to predict conversion and gelation dynamics as a function of polymerization conditions. The model assumes that bulk polymerization can be used to approximate inverse miniemulsion polymerization with an aqueous‐phase initiator. The initiator efficiency is used as an adjustable parameter to simulate the conversion dynamics, thus accounting for radical confinement effects and interaction with emulsifier molecules.  相似文献

A coumarin derivative with a malonate unit has been synthesized and used for the preparation of a fullerene–coumarin dyad through the Bingel cyclopropanation method. The newly synthesized dyad is soluble in organic solvents and has been fully characterized with traditional spectroscopic techniques. Electronic interactions between the two components of the dyad were probed with the aid of UV/Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence emission, and electrochemistry measurements. Our studies clearly show the presence of electronic interactions between C60 and modified coumarin in the ground state; efficient electron‐transfer quenching of the singlet excited state of the coumarin moiety by the appended fullerene sphere was also observed. Time‐resolved fluorescence measurements revealed lifetimes for the coumarin–C60 dyad at a maximum of 50 ps, while the quantum yield was reaching unity. Additionally, the redox potentials of the C60–coumarin dyad were determined and the energetics of the electron‐transfer processes were evaluated. Finally, after alkaline treatment of C60–coumarin, which resulted in the deprotection of carboxylate units, the dyad was tested as a metal receptor for divalent metal cations; ion competition studies and fluorescence experiments showed binding selectivity for lead ions.  相似文献

Lipid membrane based electrochemical biosensors have been exploited for the last 40 years. However, a major obstacle that limited their applications and commercialization was their fragility. Recent advances in stabilization of lipid membranes have tremendously increased the number of publications in the last 5 years. The objective of the present article is to present procedures for the stabilization of lipid film biosensors and recent advances in their analytical uses. These novel devices are used as chemo‐ and biosensors for the quantification of environmental contaminants and food toxicants. Recent research is directed to the construction of a portable mini electrochemical device that will be commercialized and readily be used by non‐skilled personnel for in the field measurements.  相似文献

A novel and convenient route for the preparation of chiral tricyclic iminolactones 9 and 10 from camphorquinone has been developed. Alkylation of iminolactones 9 and 10 provided iminolactones 16 and 17 in high yields which were, in turn, alkylated again to afford the alpha,alpha-disubstituted products in good yields (70-90%) and excellent diastereoselectivities (>98%). Hydrolysis of the alkylated iminolactones furnished the desired alpha,alpha-disubstituted alpha-amino acids in good yields and high enantiomeric excesses with good recovery yields of the chiral auxiliary 12 and 13. The extremely high endo-face selectivity for alkylation is discussed using semiempirical (MOPAC 93) calculations.  相似文献
