Demythification of electroproduction local duality and precocious scaling

In an effort to develop a quantitative check of asymptotically free color-gauge theories, we analyze the logarithmic corrections to ξ-scaling coming from anomalous dimensions and coefficient functions of twist-two operators and compare with electroproduction data for 1 ? Q² ? 16 GeV². Excellent agreement is obtained using $\text{g}{}^2\text{(2}\text{GeV}\text{)}\text{4π}{}^2\text{= 0.17}$ for the effective quark-gluon coupling in the color-gauge theory. Effects of higher-twist operators are suppressed by powers of $\text{M}{}_0{}^2\text{Q}{}^2$. We use data from the resonance region to show $\text{M}{}_0\text{? 400}\text{MeV}$, in agreement with theoretical expectations. Our fit to νW₂ in the scaling region also describes the resonance region in the sense of Bloom-gilman local duality. We show that local duality is a consequence of the moment predictions obtained from the operator-product expansion in quantum chromodynamics. We resolve a paradox associated with local duality and spin-zero targets. Present measurements of $\text{R =}\text{σ}{}_{\mathrm{L}}\text{σ}{}_{\mathrm{T}}$ at large x and Q² are systematically higher than our predictions.     

Pseudo-Cabibbo structure in a gauge theory of weak interactions and electromagnetism

We present an alternative to the Cabibbo theory in the context of a renormalizable gauge model of weak and electromagnetic interactions. The strangeness-changing hadronic weak current is assumed to be V+A.     

Weak asymptotic stability at first approximation for periodic differential inclusions

Weak asymptotic stability of an equilibrium position for a periodic differential inclusion is studied. First the weak asymptotic stability for a discrete-time inclusion generated by the original differential inclusion is investigated with the help of first approximation techniques. Then using the results for discrete-time inclusions the weak asymptotic stability for the differential inclusion is derived from the properties of its first approximation.     

Electronic structure and absorption spectra of acetylacetone and its analogs

The molecules of acetylacetone, benzoylacetone, dibenzoylmethane, and thiodibenzoylmethane have been calculated by the simple MO LCAO method and their absorption spectra recorded. The chelation of acetylacetone with a hydrogen atom does not affect the energy of the first allowed transition ¹A₁-¹B₁. Calculations correctly predict the change in the energy for this transition in the -diketone series: acetylacetone > benzoylacetone > dibenzoylmethane > thiodibenzoylmethane; the intensity reaches a maximum value for dibenzoylmethane and dropping sharply for thiodibenzoylmethane. The secondary absorption bands for benzoylacetone and dibenzoylmethane are examined experimentally and interpreted theoretically.     

Some tendencies of the synergistic extraction of lanthanides with mixtures of thenoyltrifluoroacetone and trioctylamine

Solvent extraction of Pr, Gd and Yb with mixtures of HTTA andTOA has been investigated. The values of the synergistic equilibrium constant have been calculated. Some tendencies of the synergistic extraction of lanthanides have been discussed.

Zusammenfassung Es wurde die synergistische Extraktion von Pr, Gd und Yb mit einer Mischung aus HTTA undTOA untersucht. Die synergistishcen Gleichgewichtskonstanten wurden berechnet und die Auswirkungen spezifischer Versuchsbedingungen auf das Extraktionsgleichgewicht diskutiert.
