We present a new concept to control the conformations of molecules in the excited state through harvesting negative hyperconjugation. The strategy was realized with the 2,3,1,4‐benzodiazadiborinane scaffold, which was prepared by a new synthetic procedure. Photochemical studies identified dual light emission, which was assigned to well‐defined conformers. The emission at longer wavelength can be switched off by restricting the rotational degrees of freedom in the solid state as well as by controlling the energy levels of the excited states through adjusting the solvent polarity.  相似文献

Arachidonic‐acid‐derived prostaglandins (PGs), specifically PGE2, play a central role in inflammation and numerous immunological reactions. The enzymes of PGE2 biosynthesis are important pharmacological targets for anti‐inflammatory drugs. Besides mammals, certain edible marine algae possess a comprehensive repertoire of bioactive arachidonic‐acid‐derived oxylipins including PGs that may account for food poisoning. Described here is the analysis of PGE2 biosynthesis in the red macroalga Gracilaria vermiculophylla that led to the identification of 15‐hydroperoxy‐PGE2, a novel precursor of PGE2 and 15‐keto‐PGE2. Interestingly, this novel precursor is also produced in human macrophages where it represents a key metabolite in an alternative biosynthetic PGE2 pathway in addition to the well‐established arachidonic acid‐PGG2‐PGH2‐PGE2 route. This alternative pathway of mammalian PGE2 biosynthesis may open novel opportunities to intervene with inflammation‐related diseases.  相似文献

The direct conversion of syngas to ethanol, typically using promoted Rh catalysts, is a cornerstone reaction in CO2 utilization and hydrogen storage technologies. A rational catalyst development requires a detailed structural understanding of the activated catalyst and the role of promoters in driving chemoselectivity. Herein, we report a comprehensive atomic‐scale study of metal–promoter interactions in silica‐supported Rh, Rh–Mn, and Rh–Mn–Fe catalysts by aberration‐corrected (AC) TEM. While the catalytic reaction leads to the formation of a Rh carbide phase in the Rh–Mn/SiO2 catalyst, the addition of Fe results in the formation of bimetallic Rh–Fe alloys, which further improves the selectivity and prevents the carbide formation. In all promoted catalysts, Mn is present as an oxide decorating the metal particles. Based on the atomic insight obtained, structural and electronic modifications induced by promoters are revealed and a basis for refined theoretical models is provided.  相似文献

The development, optimization and validation of a liquid chromatography–atmospheric pressure photoionization tandem mass spectrometric (LC–APPI/MS/MS) method for the determination of 15 azaarenes (4-azafluorene, benzo[h] and -[f]quinoline, phenanthridine, acridine, 1-azafluoranthene, 4-azapyrene, benz[a]- and -[c]acridine, -10-azabenzo[a]pyrene, 7,9- and 7,10-dimethylbenz[c]acridine, dibenz[a,j]-, -[c,h] and [a,i]acridine) in airborne particulate matter is described. Each compound was detected and quantified operating in multiple reaction monitoring mode. Extraction of azaarenes was achieved using accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) with dichlormethane/methanol (50/50, v/v). After extraction, no additional clean-up procedure like solid phase or liquid/liquid extraction was necessary. Limits of quantification (S/N × 10) ranged from 0.2 pg/μl to 1.4 pg/μl, matrix dependent recoveries were between 57% and 94%, with relative standard deviations from 8% to 17%. Applicability of the method was demonstrated analyzing 10 samples of particulate matter (PM2.5) collected in winter 2008. In all samples dimethylbenz[c]acridines as well as dibenzacridines were below the limit of quantification, concentration of the remaining analytes were in the range from 0.002 ng/m3 to 0.356 ng/m3.  相似文献

Atom economy (AE) or atom utilization was one of the first defining terms in the sustainable chemistry movement. In contrast to the often‐cited twelve (qualitative) principles of green chemistry, AE represents a metric for quantification purposes. The theoretical efficiency of a reaction expressed by its stoichiometric equation can be determined by AE=Product [g/mol]/(Substrate 1+Substrate 2+…?) [g/mol] and compared with synthetic alternatives. Of course, the atom economy will be of limited use, if starting materials differ much in complexity, i.e., in the degree of refinement. In these cases, their syntheses have to be taken in consideration, too. But, the further the retrospect goes and the more preceding synthesis steps ramify, the more complex the calculation gets. To overcome this limitation, we introduce a stepwise approach that is enabled by a simple modification of the above formula (P=product; S=substrate; Syn.=synthesis): AE=P [g/mol]/((S1/AE(Syn. of S1))+(S2/AE(Syn. of S2))+…?) [g/mol]. To illustrate this equation, which is derived mathematically, the convergent multistep synthesis of the natural product trans‐chrysanthemic acid is subjected to a stepwise method of calculation. The equation can be understood as a general expression for related ratios, i.e., there are corresponding modified equations for yield, selectivity, etc. In terms of the yield, it is no longer necessary to decide between the chains of the convergent synthesis, when possibly forced to ignore significant parts of the sequence. For demonstration purposes, the yield of the convergent synthesis of the natural product peridinin has been determined with a correspondingly modified equation.  相似文献

In this work, we report on recent investigations, both on the global and on the local molecular architecture of supported phospholipid model membranes. A brief theoretical introduction explains how global structural information on supramolecular lipid ensembles can be retrieved from surface X-ray diffraction measurements as well as how spin-label electron paramagnetic resonance spectroscopy (EPR) provides complementary information on the local environment of probe molecules. The combination of especially designed X-ray cells with the technique of small- and wide-angle X-ray surface scattering makes it possible to explore various fields of lipid research and its applications. Examples for different physico-chemical conditions are presented: (i) in situ chemistry under excess of water conditions demonstrating how solid-supported lipid films sense salinity, (ii) the 3D electron density reconstruction of a vesicle-fusion intermediate under controlled humidity, and (iii) complementary temperature and pressure effects on oriented phospholipid samples. Further, special attention has been given to the influence of different film preparation techniques with respect to quality and the defect structure manifestation. To resolve the proportions and local properties of defects in a hydrated lipid-deposited surface, spin-label EPR was applied. The results from 9.6 GHz EPR as well as from 1.2 GHz EPR suggest the alignment to be in the range between 30% and 80%. In addition, slow time-dependent EPR measurements point to nano-structural rearrangements due to water flow and reduction of alignment quality.  相似文献

The extraction of uranyl from acidic (HNO(3)) aqueous solutions toward an ionic liquid phase, C(1)-C(4)-imTf(2)N (1-methyl,3-butylimidazolium Tf(2)N), has been investigated as a function of initial acid concentration and ligand concentration for two different extracting moieties: a classical malonamide, N,N'-dimethyl-N,N'-dibutylmalonamide (DMDBMA) and a functionalized IL composed of the Tf(2)N(-) anion and an imidazolium cation on which a malonamide pattern has been grafted (FIL-MA). The extraction mechanism, as demonstrated through the influence of added C(1)-C(4)-imCl or added LiTf(2)N in the aqueous phase, is slightly different between the DMDBMA and FIL-MA extracting agents. Modeling of the extraction data evidences a double extraction mechanism, with cation exchange of UO(2)(2+)versus 2 H(+) for DMDBMA or versus C(1)-C(4) -im(+) and H(+) for FIL-MA at low acidic values, and through anion exchange of [UO(2)(NO(3))(3)](-)versus Tf(2)N(-) for both ligands at high HNO(3) concentrations. The FIL-MA molecule is more efficient than its classical DMDBMA parent.  相似文献
