Kiamycins B and C,unusual bridged angucyclinones from a marine sediment-derived Streptomyces sp.

Kiamycins B (1) and C (2), two unusual angucyclinones bearing a novel 6,12-epoxybenz[a]anthracene ring system, were isolated from the cultures of a marine sediment-derived Streptomyces sp. along with one structurally related derivative 3. Their structures and stereochemistries were determined by spectroscopic analyses, single-crystal X-ray diffraction and electronic circular dichroism (ECD) calculations.     

Solid-phase synthesis of a new diphosphate 5-aminoimidazole-4-carboxamide riboside (AICAR) derivative and studies toward cyclic AICAR diphosphate ribose

The solid-phase synthesis of the first example of a new diphosphate AICAR derivative is reported. The new substance is characterized by the presence of a 5'-phosphate group while a second phosphate moiety is installed on a 5-hydroxypentyl chain attached to the 4-N-position of AICAR. Cyclization of the diphosphate derivative by pyrophosphate bond formation allowed for the formation of a novel AICAR-based cyclic ADP-ribose (cADPR) mimic.     

New insights into the mechanism of activation of atom transfer radical polymerization by Cu(I) complexes

The kinetics of activation of RX by a Cu(I) complex has been investigated in MeCN both in the absence and presence of halide ions. The system Cu(I)/L/X(-) (L = Me(6)TREN) is mainly composed of Cu(I)L(+), XCu(I)L and Cu(I)X(2)(-), but only Cu(I)L(+) is found to be an active catalyst reacting with RX.     

Erratum to: A phenomenological study of bottom-quark fragmentation in top-quark decay

We update the results on the B-lepton invariant-mass distribution in the dilepton channel in top decay, with respect to the ones presented in Corcella and Mescia (Eur. Phys. J. C 65:171, 2010).
