We have shown that benzene is oxidized to phenol by the polynuclear manganese complex [Mn12O12(CH3COO)16(H2O)4] in acetonitrile solution at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, with better than 80% selectivity. We have established that introduction of oxygen from the air into the reaction mixture as the reoxidant does not make it a catalytic process. L. V. The plane asymmetric problem of vertical impact of a rigid body against the surface of a compressible fluid is considered. It is assumed that the penetrating circular cylinder has a shifted center of mass. Solution of the boundary-value problem is reduced to solution of an infinite system of linear integral Volterra equations of the second kind. We consider multiple scattering of electromagnetic waves by a layer of turbulent magnetized collisional plasma. The influence of the distances from the layer's boundaries to the emitter and receiver is analyzed. We find out that, provided absorption in the plasma is strong enough, the width of the angular spectrum of the received radiation can be larger than in the collisionless plasma, and the maximum of the spectrum is substantially shifted with respect to the direction to the source. It is shown that these effects weaken as the emitter approaches the layer. The dependence of the width of the spectrum and the shift of its maximum on distance from the receiver to the layer's boundary can be substantially nonmonotonic. Two-frequency lasing in a new class of heterolasers (interband cascade lasers with tunneling transition that separates two active regions of quantum wells located in a single waveguide) is realized and studied. We discuss the results of two sessions of observations at the Low-Frequency VLBI Network (LFVN), carried out in 1999 (INTAS99.4) and 2000 (INTAS00.3) at a wavelength of 18 cm using the S2 recording system and processed using the correlator system in Pentictone, Canada. In different configurations of the experiments on studying the solar wind and active galactic nuclei, the antennas at the following sites were employed: Medvezhji Ozera (RT-64, Special Engineering Bureau of Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Russia), Pushchino (RT-22, Pushchino Radio Astronomy Observatory, Russia), Hartebeesthoek (RT-25, South Africa), Noto (RT-32, Italy), Shanghai (RT-25, China), Pune (RT-45, India), Svetloe (RT-32, Institute of Applied Astronomy RAS, Russia). The work resulted in successful testing of the method of radio probing of the solar-wind plasma by radiation of extragalactic sources, supplemented with the method of radio interferometric reception. Spectral analysis of the obtained data allowed us to estimate the index of spatial spectrum of the electron number density.uctuations and the transfer velocity of the solar-wind inhomogeneities on the sounding path.
