The results of electrical conductivity measurements in heavily doped RbCl:CoCl2 crystals with 2500 and 6000 ppm of cobalt are being reported in this paper. The different regions of the conductivity plots for the crystals with the two concentrations of cobalt have been explained and relevant energy parameters determined. The crystals with 6000 ppm of cobalt have been found to contain two types of precipitates one of these being of the same type as that existing in RbCl crystals with 2500 ppm of cobalt while the other being of a different composition. Further, it has been found that the crystals appear blackened after heating during measurements. The blackening has been attributed to the expulsion of cobalt from the bulk of the crystal which forms an oxide at the surface.  相似文献

Plane symmetric viscous fluid cosmological models of the universe with a variable cosmological term are investigated. The viscosity coefficient of bulk viscous fluid is assumed to be a power function of mass density whereas the coefficient of shear viscosity is to be proportional to rate of expansion in the model. We have also obtained a special model in which the shear viscosity is assumed to be zero. The cosmological constant Λ is found to be a decreasing function of time and a positive which is supported by results from recent supernovae Ia observations. Some physical and geometric properties of the models are also discussed.  相似文献

Photoluminescence (PL) properties of swift heavy ions-induced F2 and F3+ color centers in nano-granular lithium fluoride (LiF) thin film were studied. LiF films were deposited on glass and silica substrates and irradiated with various ion species (Ag, Ni and Au) at different irradiation temperatures. The role of ion species, their fluence and the irradiation temperature on the PL intensity of color centers induced in LiF thin films is discussed.  相似文献

Abstract

A Monte Carlo calculation for the energy spectra of electrons and positrons produced in infinite and semiinfinite water phantoms by photons ranging in energies from 20 keV to 1 GeV are presented. The dominant processes considered are the photoelectric effect, Auger effect, Compton effect, pair, and triplet production. Bremsstrahlung produced by electrons and positrons with energies greater than 1 MeV is also included. The effect of multiple Compton scattering, not considered in the earlier calculation, for the infinite phantom for photon energies higher than 2 MeV has been incorporated. For a semi-infinite phantom, multiple Compton scattering and backscattering through the top are considered. The results are compared with the earlier calculations for the first-collision spectrum. It is found that the inclusion of multiple Compton scattering significantly increases the average number of electrons/cm3 per photon/cm2 at all energies considered whereas bremsstrahlung reduces the number of high energy electrons and produces more low energy electrons in the spectrum.  相似文献

Self-assembled one-dimensional (1D) zinc oxide (ZnO) rods and three-dimensional (3D) cupric oxide (CuO) cubes like nanostructures with a mean crystallite size of approximately 33 and 32 nm were synthesized through chemical route in the presence of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) under mild synthesis conditions. The technique used for the synthesis of nanoparticles seems to be an efficient, inexpensive and easy method. X-Ray diffraction patterns confirmed well crystallinity and phase purity of the as prepared samples, followed by the compositional investigation using Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy. The formation of ZnO nanorods and CuO nanocubes like structures were through Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) images. The mechanism and the formation factors of the self-assembly were discussed in detail. It was clearly observed from results that the concentration of precursors and PVP were important factors in the synthesis of self-assembly ZnO and CuO nanostructures. These self-assembly nanostructures maybe used as novel materials in various potential applications.  相似文献

In the present paper, photovoltaic studies of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on betacyanin/TiO2 and betacyanin/WO3–TiO2 have been done. The cell performances were compared through IV curves and wavelength dependant photocurrent measurements for the two new types of DSSCs. The TiO2-coated DSSC showed the photovoltage and photocurrent of 300 mV and 4.96 mA/cm2, whereas the cell employing WO3–TiO2 photoelectrode showed the values 435 mV and 9.86 mA/cm2, respectively. The conversion efficiency of TiO2 based dye-sensitized solar cell was found to be 0.69 %, while WO3–TiO2-based cell exhibited a higher conversion efficiency of 2.2 %. The better performance of the WO3–TiO2 dye-sensitized solar cell photoelectrode is thought to be due to an inherent energy barrier at the electrode/electrolyte interface leading to the reduced recombination of photoinduced electrons.  相似文献

In four-dimensional N = 4 supersymmetric gauge theory, we obtain an exact metric on the moduli space of quantum vacua and analyze the spectra of BPS states in weak as well as in strong coupling regions. Identifying the hypermultiplet of the dyonic state as a string stretched between D3-brane probe and a 7-brane, we demonstrate that the two hypermultiplets, which become massless at two singularities in supersymmetric theory, correspond to open strings beginning on the D3-brane and ending on the respective 7-brane.  相似文献
