We investigated simultaneously the 12C(e,e'p) and 12C(e,e'pp) reactions at Q2=2 (GeV/c)2, xB=1.2, and in an (e, e'p) missing-momentum range from 300 to 600 MeV/c. At these kinematics, with a missing momentum greater than the Fermi momentum of nucleons in a nucleus and far from the delta excitation, short-range nucleon-nucleon correlations are predicted to dominate the reaction. For (9.5+/-2)% of the 12C(e,e'p) events, a recoiling partner proton was observed back-to-back to the 12C(e,e'p) missing-momentum vector, an experimental signature of correlations.  相似文献

The dynamic electronic structure of atoms and molecules can be directly observed by means of the (e, 2e) reaction, which measures the distribution of energies and momenta of two electrons in coincidence after a knockout reaction initiated by an electron beam of known momentum incident on a molecular gas target. The molecular state for each event is identified by the electron separation energy. The recoil momentum for each event is known from the difference of measured initial and final momenta. It has been verified that values of this momentum are equal under suitable conditions to the momentum of the electron in the target immediately before knockout. Thus the spherically-averaged electron momentum distribution for each molecular orbital is measured. This is directly related to molecular orbitals calculated by the methods of quantum chemistry. Properties obtained by this method for different types of molecules are discussed.  相似文献

We present the results of a new experiment with our multicell set-up implemented with mass spectrometric measurements of4He and a highly improved neutron detector. The excess heat measured is comparable with the results of other laboratories, but no neutrons were found and the tritium excess was lower than expected from the power excess. 4He has been measured in the electrolysis gases and a tentative correlation of 4He with excess power is presented and discussed.  相似文献

In a 2004 paper, Totaro asked whether a G-torsor X that hasa zero-cycle of degree d > 0 will necessarily have a closedétale point of degree dividing d, where G is a connectedalgebraic group. This question is closely related to severalconjectures regarding exceptional algebraic groups. Totaro gavea positive answer to his question in the following cases: Gsimple, split, and of type G2, type F4, or simply connectedof type E6. We extend the list of cases where the answer is‘yes’ to all groups of type G2 and some nonsplitgroups of type F4 and E6. No assumption on the characteristicof the base field is made. We construct new examples of exceptional collections of line bundles on the variety of Borel subgroups of a split semisimple linear algebraic group GG of rank 2 over a field. We exhibit exceptional collections of the expected length for types A2A2 and B2=C2B2=C2 and prove that no such collection exists for type G2G2. This settles the question of the existence of full exceptional collections of line bundles on projective homogeneous GG-varieties for split linear algebraic groups GG of rank at most 2.  相似文献

Background

We have recorded responses from single neurons in murine visual cortex to determine the effectiveness of the input from the two murine cone photoreceptor mechanisms and whether there is any unique selectivity for cone inputs at this higher region of the visual system that would support the possibility of colour vision in mice. Each eye was stimulated by diffuse light, either 370 (strong stimulus for the ultra-violet (UV) cone opsin) or 505 nm (exclusively stimulating the middle wavelength sensitive (M) cone opsin), obtained from light emitting diodes (LEDs) in the presence of a strong adapting light that suppressed the responses of rods.

Results

Single cells responded to these diffuse stimuli in all areas of striate cortex. Two types of responsive cells were encountered. One type (135/323 – 42%) had little to no spontaneous activity and responded at either the on and/or the off phase of the light stimulus with a few impulses often of relatively large amplitude. A second type (166/323 – 51%) had spontaneous activity and responded tonically to light stimuli with impulses often of small amplitude. Most of the cells responded similarly to both spectral stimuli. A few (18/323 – 6%) responded strongly or exclusively to one or the other spectral stimulus and rarely in a spectrally opponent manner.

Conclusion

Most cells in murine striate cortex receive excitatory inputs from both UV- and M-cones. A small fraction shows either strong selectivity for one or the other cone mechanism and occasionally cone opponent responses. Cells that could underlie chromatic contrast detection are present but extremely rare in murine striate cortex.  相似文献

We present experimental results of the first high-precision test of quark-hadron duality in the spin-structure function g_{1} of the neutron and 3He using a polarized 3He target in the four-momentum-transfer-squared range from 0.7 to 4.0 (GeV/c);{2}. Global duality is observed for the spin-structure function g_{1} down to at least Q;{2}=1.8 (GeV/c);{2} in both targets. We have also formed the photon-nucleon asymmetry A1 in the resonance region for 3He and found no strong Q2 dependence above 2.2 (GeV/c);{2}.  相似文献

The aim of the present paper is to give a purely probabilistic account for the approach to equilibrium of classical and quantum gas. The probability function used is classical. The probabilistic dynamics describes the evolution of the state of the gas due to unary and binary collisions. A state change amounts to a destruction in a state and the creation in another state. Transitions probabilities are splittled into destructions terms, denoting the random choice of the colliding particle(s), and creation terms, describing the allocation of the same particle(s) on the final state(s). While the destruction term is the same for all types of particles, the creation one depends upon a parameter bound to the interpraticle correlation. The transition probabilities give rise to a homogeneous Markov chain. The equilibrium distributions satisfy the principle of detailed balance. Relaxation times depend upon the interparticle correlation. Relationships with the Ehrenfest urn model, Brillouin unified method, ensemble interpretation, and quantum H-theorem are considered too.  相似文献

We consider a one-sided transitive subshift of finite type σ: Σ → Σ and a Hölder observable A. In the ergodic optimization model, one is interested in properties of A-minimizing probability measures. If ā denotes the minimizing ergodic value of A, a sub-action u for A is by definition a continuous function such that Au ○ σ ? u + ā. We call contact locus of u with respect to A the subset of Σ where A = u ○ σ ? u + ā. A calibrated sub-action u gives the possibility to construct, for any point x ε Σ, backward orbits in the contact locus of u. In the opposite direction, a separating sub-action gives the smallest contact locus of A, that we call Ω(A), the set of non-wandering points with respect to A.We prove that separating sub-actions are generic among Hölder sub-actions. We also prove that, under certain conditions on Ω(A), any calibrated sub-action is of the form u(x) = u(x i ) + h A (x i , x) for some x i ∈ Ω(A), where h A (x, y) denotes the Peierls barrier of A. We present the proofs in the holonomic optimization model, a formalism which allows to take into account a two-sided transitive subshift of finite type \((\hat \Sigma , \hat \sigma )\).  相似文献

The parity-violating cross-section asymmetry in the elastic scattering of polarized electrons from unpolarized protons has been measured at a four-momentum transfer squared Q2 = 0.624 GeV2 and beam energy E(b) = 3.48 GeV to be A(PV) = -23.80 ± 0.78(stat) ± 0.36(syst) parts per million. This result is consistent with zero contribution of strange quarks to the combination of electric and magnetic form factors G(E)(s) + 0.517G(M)(s) = 0.003 ± 0.010(stat) ± 0.004(syst) ± 0.009(ff), where the third error is due to the limits of precision on the electromagnetic form factors and radiative corrections. With this measurement, the world data on strange contributions to nucleon form factors are seen to be consistent with zero and not more than a few percent of the proton form factors.  相似文献
