Series of double quantum dots each with a size around 400 × 400nm2 have been realized by delineating a 2DEG in modulation-doped AlGaAs/GaAs with 100 nm wide Schottky split gates fabricated by an electron-beam lithography and a lift-off technique. The split gate in the middle of the double dot allows us to control interdot coupling widely. The charging diagram obtained from linear transports in the Coulomb blockade regime shows that the isolated dots merge into a single composite dot with increase of interdot coupling. A clear Coulomb staircase has been observed in the double-dot system at a limited high-bias condition. 相似文献

An experimental desorption study of Triton X-100 from latices with different functionality is presented. Two different strategies to follow the desorption experiment have been used: first, a discontinuous method based on the wash step (centrifugation-removal-redispersion); and second, a continuous method based on the replacement of the disperse media. The desorption results show that in all cases a residual amount of Triton X-100 remains adsorbed, indicating irreversibility of the surfactant adsorption. Finally, the effect of desorption on the colloidal stability of one type of latex-surfactant complex has been analyzed. Copyright 2000 Academic Press. 相似文献

A resistively coupled single-electron transistor (R-SET) was fabricated using a modulation-doped heterostructure and metal Schottky gates, and measured at low temperature. Currents of R-SET with tunnel gate resistor were calculated using the orthodox theory. It is shown that the R-SET with tunnel gate resistor has quite similar properties to the originally proposed R-SET. 相似文献

We successfully deployed an in situ automatic chemical analyzer sensitive to manganese (Mn) in seawater for a period of 81 days for the first time on the deep seafloor of Sagami Bay along a convergent plate boundary south of Japan. The in situ Mn analyzer (GAMOS-IV) was connected to a submarine cable as a means to supply power and to relay real time data. During the observation period from April 5 till June 25, 2006, the amount of measured Mn was seen to increase abruptly up to 10 times that of the background level only on April 21, probably triggered by a M5.8 earthquake which occurred ∼7 km south-southwest of the observation site. This study demonstrates the suitability of submarine cables for the long-term geochemical monitoring of deep sea environments. 相似文献
