Specific features of the EPR line shape of dimers due to spin-lattice relaxation

The magnetization relaxation in a coupled system of two spins has been shown to induce magnetization transfer between the observed transitions. In the degeneracy region of the transitions, the magnetization transfer becomes most effective and leads to the collapse of the magnetic resonance lines. In the electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectra calculated for a polycrystal, this effect manifests itself in the form of additional peaks in the absorption line. The effect of anisotropy of the g factors of the dimer spins and misalignment of the axes of the g tensor and the interaction tensor on the appearance of additional lines in the EPR spectra has been analyzed.     

Zolotarev problem in the metric of L1([−1, 1])

In this paper we solve the problem of the determination of a polynomial of degree n with given two leading coefficients which has the least deviation from zero in the metric of L₁ ([?1, 1]). The extremal polynomial is expressed in the form of some linear combination of Chebyshev polynomials of the second kind.     

Vibrational Satellites and Pseudorotation in 2-Methyl-1,3-dioxolane

Vibrational satellites caused by pseudorotation are identified in the microwave spectrum of 2-methyl-1,3-dioxolane. The rotational constants of the satellites are determined up to state v = 6. Splittings between lower pseudorotational energy levels are determined by measuring the relative intensities of rotational transitions. An attempt is made to determine the form of the pseudorotation function of the molecule using the obtained data.

Microwave spectrum, centrifugal distortion, dipole moment and conformation of 2-methyl-1,3-dioxane

Microwave spectrum of 2-methyl-1,3-dioxane has been investigated in the frequency range 8–40 GHz. Rotational a-type and c-type transitions with J≤40 have been identified. Rotational constants A = 4658.122(2) MHz, B = 2503.221(1) MHz, C = 1783.950(1) MHz and centrifugal distortion constants for the ground vibrational state have been found. Dipole moment components μ_a = 1.43 ± 0.01 D, μ_c = 1.15±0.01 D and overall dipole moment μ = 1.84±0.02 D have been determined.
