We show that shear-induced solidification of dilute charge-stabilized colloids is due to the interplay between shear-induced formation and breakage of large non-Brownian clusters. While their size is limited by breakage, their number density increases with shearing time. Upon flow cessation, the dense packing of clusters interconnects into a rigid state by means of grainy bonds, each involving a large number of primary colloidal bonds. The emerging picture of shear-driven solidification in dilute colloidal suspensions combines the gelation of Brownian systems with the jamming of athermal systems.  相似文献

1,8-naphthyridine-3-carboxamide structures were previously identified as a promising scaffold from which to obtain CB2R agonists with anticancer and anti-inflammatory activity. This work describes the synthesis and functional characterization of new 1,8-naphthyridin-2(1H)-one-3-carboxamides with high affinity and selectivity for CB2R. The new compounds were able to pharmacologically modulate the cAMP response without modulating CB2R-dependent β-arrestin2 recruitment. These structures were also evaluated for their anti-cancer activity against SH-SY5Y and SK-N-BE cells. They were able to reduce the cell viability of both neuroblastoma cancer cell lines with micromolar potency (IC50 of FG158a = 11.8 μM and FG160a = 13.2 μM in SH-SY5Y cells) by a CB2R-mediated mechanism. Finally, in SH-SY5Y cells one of the newly synthesized compounds, FG158a, was able to modulate ERK1/2 expression by a CB2R-mediated effect, thus suggesting that this signaling pathway might be involved in its potential anti-cancer effect.  相似文献

This present work aims to functionalize poly(amidoamine) (PAMAM) dendrimers with various reported adhesive peptides, including Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD), Tyr-Ile-Gly-Ser-Arg (YIGSR), and Ile-Lys-Val-Ala-Val (IKVAV) for enhancing cell responses. The RGD, YIGSR, or IKVAV functionalized PAMAM coated substrate could promote cell adhesion of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (BMSCs) within 1 h after incubation. The neurite differentiation and proliferation of pheochromocytoma (PC12) cells were also significantly enhanced after culturing on the peptide functionalized PAMAM dendrimers for two and four days. This peptide functionalized PAMAM dendrimers are considered as the potential candidates for various tissue engineering applications.  相似文献

We propose deformations of inherent structures as a suitable tool for detecting structural changes underlying the onset of cooperativity in supercooled liquids. The non-affine displacement (NAD) field resulting from the applied deformation shows characteristic differences between the high temperature liquid and supercooled state, which are typically observed in dynamic quantities. The average magnitude of the NAD is very sensitive to temperature changes in the supercooled regime and is found to be strongly correlated with the inherent structure energy. In addition, the NAD field is characterized by a correlation length that increases upon lowering the temperature towards the supercooled regime.  相似文献

We study the viscoelastic properties and the relaxation process in a gelling system by means of a minimal statistical-mechanics model. The model is based on percolation and bond fluctuation dynamics. The values for the critical exponents of the viscosity and elasticity agree with a part of the experimental observations and of the theoretical predictions. A new coordination polymer, Zn-(OC-AMAM-CO) CP, has been synthesized from Zn (II) as ionic node and 2,2′-((1,2-phenylenebis [azanediyl])bis (carbonyl))dibenzoic acid, (OC-AMAM-CO), as a new linker, where (OC-AMAM-CO) has been synthesized as an amide product through condensation reaction of phthalic acid and o-phenylenediamine. The amide product (OC-AMAM-CO) and Zn-(OC-AMAM-CO) CP were characterized via FTIR and PXRD analyses, and Zn-(OC-AMAM-CO) CP was further characterized via SEM/EDX and XPS analyses. Moreover, DFT study was performed to shed light on the both structures of (OC-AMAM-CO) and Zn-(OC-AMAM-CO). PXRD analysis revealed the successful syntheses of the new linker (OC-AMAM-CO) and Zn-(OC-AMAM-CO) CP where the new CP is crystalline. DFT study revealed that the 3D topological structure assembled through coordination, π–π stacking, and hydrogen bonding. Zn-(OC-AMAM-CO) CP was applied as an adsorbent for the removal of Cu (II) from water as it has abundant chelating groups that serve as adsorptive coordinating sites. Isotherm study revealed the obedience of Cu (II)/Zn-(OC-AMAM-CO) CP adsorption system to Langmuir modeling with adsorption capacity of about 55 mg/g. A kinetic study showed that the rate of adsorption was a pseudo-first-order type. Further, adsorption process was found to be strongly diffusion dependent.  相似文献

We present a study of molecular dynamics at the sol‐gel transition. Application of percolation and bond‐fluctuation dynamics provides critical exponents for viscoelastic properties in a strong covalent gel and shows a complex non‐exponential relaxation behaviour. The results are in good agreement with experimental findings and offer interesting pointers for discussions.  相似文献
