Highly concentrated electrolyte solutions were studied through a Monte Carlo-based simulator, developed to consider the water molecules not a homogeneous dielectric as usual, but as dipoles that can move and rotate within a 3D lattice. This approach allowed fast calculations of detailed interactions between the particles, which were described from mechanistic potentials including dipole–dipole, ion–dipole, ion–ion, and hydrogen bonding (HB) interactions. A good agreement was found between experimental data and simulated results. The study also provides new insights about the balance of the different interactions in systems with or without electrolytes, and the effects of the electrolytes addition on the original water structure. The immobilization of acetylcholinesterase on platinum microelectrodes modified with p-nitrobenzenediazonium is optimized. In the first step, a layer of p-nitrophenyl groups was deposited on the surface and then reduced to p-aminophenyl groups. Finally, the enzyme was linked to the amino groups on the surface using glutaraldehyde. Each step of the electrode modification was characterized by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) at acidic and neutral pH to modify the electric charges of different bound moieties. The deposition of diazonium groups was attempted by potentiometry, amperometry or CV, but only potentiometry proceeded without passivation of the surface. The use of microelectrodes improved the limit of detection of ethylparaoxon measurements to 20 nM (compared to 100 nM in case of screen-printed electrodes based on the same method of immobilization). The method allowed the production of stable and reproducible amperometric microbiosensors and may be adapted to other enzymes and electrode materials. 相似文献

The objective of this study is to study the influence of de-inking paper sludge (DPS) and sewage sludge (SL) mixtures addition
at different rates (2, 4 and 8%) in two soils. Incubation experiments were performed during 60 days and the influence of treatments
in physical soil properties was determined by soil porosity and stability of aggregates. Differential thermal analysis (DTA)
of amended soils after incubation was performed. Experimental results show that amendment increased biological soil activity,
soil porosity and stability of aggregates. DTA analysis shows that the first exothermic peak generally increases with the
dosage of DPS:SL due to the addition of immature organic matter. Moreover, the second peak enlarges probably due to the humification

The watershed algorithm is the most common method used for peak detection and integration in two-dimensional chromatography. However, the retention time variability in the second dimension may render the algorithm to fail. A study calculating the probabilities of failure of the watershed algorithm was performed. The main objective was to calculate the maximum second-dimension retention time variability, Δ2tR,crit, above which the algorithm fails. Several models to calculate Δ2tR,crit were developed and evaluated: (a) exact model; (b) simplified model and (c) simple-modified model. Model (c) gave the best performance and allowed to deduce an analytical expression for the probability of failure of the watershed algorithm as a function of experimental Δ2tR, modulation time and peak width in the first and second dimensions. It could be demonstrated that the probability of failure of the watershed algorithm under normal conditions in GC × GC is around 15–20%. Small changes of Δ2tR, modulation time and/or peak width in the first and second dimension could induce subtle changes in the probability of failure of the watershed algorithm. Theoretical equations were verified with experimental results from a diesel sample injected in GC × GC and were found to be in good agreement with the experiments. 相似文献

Reactions of ethylenedithioglycol (ETG) with Na2CO3, K2CO3, and Cs2CO3 provided the oligothiaethylenethioglycols (nETG): di‐ (DETG), tri‐ (TrETG), tetra‐ (TETG), and pentathiaethylenethioglycol (PETG), along with higher polymers. The most efficient carbonate was K2CO3 and reactions using DETG and TrETG as starting materials—or their mixtures—were also found to afford similar species. This largely unknown oligomerization process was thoroughly explored and potential pathways were put forward. A convenient conversion of ETG to laboratory quantities of the otherwise scarce and/or expensive DETG, TrETG, TETG, and PETG oligomers, in organic or aqueous media was achieved. Notably, this straightforward reaction takes place without the addition of expensive or toxic metal catalysts and with pure water as the solvent, thereby highlighting its potential as a green chemical reaction. Moreover, the process opens up new approaches to dynamic combinatorial libraries (DCLs) of oligomers and macrocycles with manifolded nETG [(SCH2CH2)nS] bridges. 相似文献

Magnetism in the orthorhombic metal CaFe(4)As(3) was examined through neutron diffraction for powder and single crystalline samples. Incommensurate [q(m) ≈ (0.37-0.39) × b*] and predominantly longitudinally (|| b) modulated order develops through a 2nd order phase transition at TN = 89.63(6) K with a 3D Heisenberg-like critical exponent β = 0.365(6). A 1st order transition at T2 = 25.6(9) K is associated with the development of a transverse component, locking q(m) to 0.375(2)b*, and increasing the moments from 2.1(1) to 2.2(3) μ B for Fe2+ and from 1.3(3) to 2.4(4) μB for Fe+. The ab initio Fermi surface is consistent with a nesting instability in cross-linked FeAs strips. 相似文献

Quantum systems such as, for example, photons, atoms, or Bose-Einstein condensates, prepared in complex states where entanglement between distinct degrees of freedom is present, may display several intriguing features. In this Letter we introduce the concept of such complex quantum states for intense beams of light by exploiting the properties of cylindrically polarized modes. We show that already in a classical picture the spatial and polarization field variables of these modes cannot be factorized. Theoretically it is proven that by quadrature squeezing cylindrically polarized modes one generates entanglement between these two different degrees of freedom. Experimentally we demonstrate amplitude squeezing of an azimuthally polarized mode by exploiting the nonlinear Kerr effect in a specially tailored photonic crystal fiber. These results display that such novel continuous-variable entangled systems can, in principle, be realized. 相似文献

A stability correction function φ(m)(ζ) that accounts for distortions to the logarithmic mean velocity profile (MVP) in the lower atmosphere caused by thermal stratification was proposed by Monin and Obukhov in the 1950s using dimensional analysis. Its universal character was established from many field experiments. However, theories that describe the canonical shape of φ(m)(ζ) are still lacking. A previous link between the spectrum of turbulence and the MVP is expanded here to include the effects of thermal stratification on the turbulent kinetic energy dissipation rate and eddy-size anisotropy. The resulting theory provides a novel explanation for the power-law exponents and coefficients already reported for φ(m)(ζ) from numerous field experiments. 相似文献

We derive the coupling of a localized hexadecapolar mode to conduction electrons in tetragonal symmetry. The derivation can be easily adapted to arbitrary multipoles in an arbitrary environment. We relate our model to the two-channel Kondo (2CK) model and show that for an f(2) configuration a relevant crystal field splitting in addition to the 2CK interaction is intrinsic to tetragonal symmetry. We discuss possible realizations of a hexadecapolar Kondo effect in URu(2)Si(2). Solving our model we find good agreement with susceptibility and specific heat measurements in Th(1-x)U(x)Ru(2)Si(2) (x?1). 相似文献
