A practical synthesis of 4′-thioribonucleosides starting from inexpensive l-arabinose is described. 1,4-Anhydro-2,3-O-isopropylidene-4-thioribitol, which was prepared by using a novel reductive ring-contraction reaction, was converted to the 5-O-silylated sulfoxides. [reaction: see text] We describe an efficient template-directed photoligation of oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs) using alpha-5-cyanovinyldeoxyuridine (alpha(C)U). An efficient photoligation was produced by photoirradiation of an ODN containing alpha(C)U at the 3' end with an ODN containing thymine at the 5' end in the presence of a template ODN. Abstract-A number of carboxylic acid derivatives of the photoactive terthiophene, α-terthienyl, were found to possess impressive UVA-dependent activity against the human immunodeficiency virus, HIV-1; but only when assayed in the absence of serum, indicating that the latter contained interfering components. Gold-dendrimer nanocomposites are prepared in aqueous solutions in the presence of poly(amidoamine)dendrimers (PAMAM) (generation 3 and 5) or poly(propyleneimine)dendrimers (PPI) (generation 3 and 4) by wet chemical NaBH(4) method. Thus prepared gold-dendrimer nanocomposites are irradiated by laser at 532 nm. UV-vis absorption spectroscopy and transmission electron microscopy reveal that the gold nanoparticles grow with the laser irradiation time as well as the fluence of the laser; in particular, the gold nanoparticles prepared at lower concentrations of PAMAM dendrimer as well as lower generations of PAMAM grow significantly. On the other hand, in the case of PPI dendrimers, the gold nanoparticles hardly grow by irradiation. In addition, dynamic light-scattering measurements show that the laser irradiation markedly promotes the association of the gold-PAMAM G3 dendrimer nanocomposites compared to that of the gold-PAMAM G5 dendrimer nanocomposites, while the sizes of association for the gold-PPI G3, G4 dendrimer nanocomposites hardly change by laser irradiation. 相似文献

This study shows the ESR spectra of oxoiron(IV) porphyrin pi-cation radicals of 1-8 in dichloromethane-methanol (5:1) mixture. We reported in a previous paper that oxoiron(IV) porphyrin pi-cation radicals of 1-4 are in an a(1u) radical state while those of 5-8 are in an a(2u) radical. The ESR spectra (g( perpendicular)(eff) approximately 3.1 and g( parallel)(eff) approximately 2.0) for the a(1u) radical complexes, 1-4, appear quite different from those reported previously for the oxoiron(IV) porphyrin pi-cation radical of 5 (g(y) = 4.5, g(x) = 3.6, and g(z) = 1.99). The unique ESR spectra of the a(1u) radical complexes rather resemble those of compound I from Micrococcus lysodeikticus catalase (CAT) and ascorbate peroxidase (ASP). This is the first examples to mimic the ESR spectra of compound I in the enzymes. From spectral analysis based on a spin Hamiltonian containing an exchange interaction, the ESR spectra of 1-4 can be explained as a moderate ferromagnetic state (J/D approximately 0.3) between ferryl S = 1 and the porphyrin pi-cation radical S' = (1)/(2). The magnitudes of zero-field splitting (D) for ferryl iron and isotropic J value, estimated from the temperature-dependence of the half-saturation power of the ESR signals, are approximately 28 and approximately +8 cm(-1), respectively. A change in the electronegativity of the beta-pyrrole substituent hardly changes the ESR spectral feature while that of the meso-substituent slightly does owing to the change in the E/D value. On the basis of the present ESR results, we propose the a(1u) radical state for compound I of CAT and ASP. 相似文献

A simple and highly sensitive method called thermal desorption (TD)-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), which is used for the determination of trace amounts of 4-nonylphenol (NP) and 4-tert.-octylphenol (OP) in water samples, is described. NP and OP in samples are extracted from water samples and concentrated by the stir bar sorptive extraction (SBSE) technique. A stir bar coated with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) is added to a 2.0 ml water sample and stirring is carried out for 60 min at room temperature (25 °C) in a headspace vial. Then the extract is high sensitively analyzed by TD-GC-MS without any derivatization step. The optimum SBSE conditions are realized at an extraction time of 60 min. The detection limits are 0.02 ng ml−1 for NP and 0.002 ng ml−1 for OP. The method shows good linearity over the concentration range of 0.1-10 ng ml−1 for NP and 0.01-10 ng ml−1 for OP, and the correlation coefficients are higher than 0.999. The average recoveries of NP and OP are higher than 97% (R.S.D.: 3.6-6.2%) with correction using the added surrogate standards, 4-(1-methyl) octylphenol-d5 and deuterium 4-tert.-octylphenol. This simple, accurate, sensitive and selective analytical method may be used in the determination of trace amounts of NP and OP in tap and river water samples. 相似文献

The adsolubilization behaviors of 2-naphthol, biphenyl, and their binary solutes in the hexadecyltrimethyl ammonium bromide (HTAB) adsorbed layer formed on silica have been studied with solution pH. Two feed concentrations of HTAB are employed: 1.5 and 3.0 mmol dm(-3). At the feed concentration of 1.5 mmol dm(-3) HTAB, most of HTAB are adsorbed on the silica as a monolayer, while a bilayer formation occurs at the feed concentration of 3.0 mmol dm(-3). It is found that the adsolubilized amounts of respective single solutes increase with increasing solution pH except acidic region for biphenyl under a constant feed concentration of 2-naphthol (0.4 mmol dm(-3)) and biphenyl (0.047 mmol dm(-3)). The adsolubilization of binary solutes depends on the feed concentration of HTAB; at the low HTAB feed concentration, competitive adsolubilization between 2-naphthol and biphenyl occurs above pH 4.5, while at the high HTAB feed concentration the adsolubilization of biphenyl is enhanced by the incorporation of 2-naphthol over a whole pH region. These behaviors in the adsolubilization are discussed from the surfactant structure of HTAB adsorbed as well as the admicellar partitioning coefficients. 相似文献
