Strategically designed sample composition (SSC) is a new technique that decreases the number of analytical determinations needed in routine screening to as few as the number of original sample specimens while providing information that is specific to them. Although this new technique has been applied to environmental studies, this paper describes its first application to food safety studies. Contamination of milk samples with polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) was chosen as a case study to show the usefulness and potential of the SSC technique with a fast analytical procedure that involves saponification of the samples and solid-phase microextraction of the PCBs. A total of 20 sample specimens can be analyzed in 11 determinations with excellent predictions of the positive samples and the concentration levels of the contaminants. The robustness of the strategy was investigated and demonstrated.  相似文献

Summary The synthesis and the dinuclear or mononuclear nature of several molybdenum(VI) and molybdenum(V) oxocomplexes derived from 1,3-diphenyl-1,3-propanedione (HLL) are described. These complexes were identified by i.r. and electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility and analytical data, and are assigned the following formulae: [MoO2(LL)2], [Mo2O5(LL)2], [Mo2O4(LL)2], [MoOCl(LL)2], [MoCl2(LL)] and [MoO(OH)(LL)2)]. The low magnetic moments of the dinuclear complexes are due, in part, to intramolecular interactions. The i.r. data show that the dionate is bound by two oxygen atoms forming a chelate six-membered ring.  相似文献

Reaction of in situ generated copper(II)-monosubstituted Keggin polyoxometalates and copper(II)-bipyridine-oxalate complexes in the corresponding alkaline acetate buffer led to the formation of hybrid metal organic-inorganic compounds K(2)[{SiW(11)O(39)Cu(H(2)O)}{Cu(2)(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)(2)(mu-ox)}(2)].14H(2)O (1), K(14)[{SiW(11)O(39)Cu(H(2)O)}{Cu(2)(bpy)(2)(mu-ox)}](2)[SiW(11)O(39)Cu(H(2)O)].55H(2)O (2), (NH(4))(4)[{SiW(11)O(39)Cu(H(2)O)}{Cu(2)(bpy)(2)(mu-ox)}].10H(2)O (3), and Rb(4)[{SiW(11)O(39)Cu(H(2)O)}{Cu(2)(bpy)(2)(mu-ox)}].10H(2)O (4). Their structures have been established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The main structural feature of these compounds is the presence of copper(II)-monosubstituted alpha-Keggin polyoxoanions as inorganic building blocks, on which the mu-oxalatodicopper metalorganic blocks are supported. Compound 1contains the discrete hybrid polyanion [{SiW(11)O(39)Cu(H(2)O)}{Cu(2)(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)(2)(mu-ox)}(2)](2)(-), whereas the polymeric hybrid polyanion [{SiW(11)O(39)Cu(H(2)O)}{Cu(2)(bpy)(2)(mu-ox)}(2)](n)(4)(n)(-) gives a monodimensional character to compounds 2-4. Magnetic and EPR results are discussed with respect to the crystal structure of the compounds. DFT calculations on both the [Cu(2)(bpy)(2)(H(2)O)(4)(mu-ox)](2+) cationic complex and the metalorganic blocks have been performed in order to determine the optimized geometry and the magnetic coupling constants, respectively.  相似文献

An electroanalytical study of the herbicide propazine's reduction process in micellar solutions and oil-in-water emulsions is reported. The anionic surfactant sodium pentanesulphonate was chosen as the most suitable. The differential pulse polarograms of micellar solutions had two reduction peaks below pH 2.0, whereas only one peak was obtained above pH 2.O. Ethyl acetate was chosen as the organic solvent to form propazine emulsions. Unlike in micellar solutions, the DPP polarograms of propazine emulsions showed only one peak even at pH < 2.0, suggesting that propazine hydrolysis was hindered in the emulsified medium. The limiting current is diffusion-controlled and the electrode process is irreversible. Propazine can be determined by differential pulse polarography over the 1.0 × 10–1 – 1.0 × 10–1moll–1 and 1.0 × 10–15 – 4.0 × 10–1 moll–1 concentration ranges and the limit of detection was 2.8 × 10–1 moll–1. Of the potential interferents simazine, methoprotryne and terbutryn (alls-triazines), thiram (a dithiocarbamate), dinoseb (nitrophenolic), and heptachlor (chlorinated cyclo-diene herbicide), only the first two were significant (10% error for equimolar concentrations). The method was applied to the determination of propazine in spiked drinking water. At a concentration level of 2.0 × 10–1 moll–1 a recovery of 94 ± 6% was obtained, after tenfold concentration on Sep-Pak.  相似文献

Nystatin is a polyene antibiotic frequently applied in the treatment of topical fungal infections. In this work, a 7-nitrobenz-2-oxa-1,3-diazole (NBD) hexanoyl amide derivative of nystatin was synthesized and its detailed photophysical characterization is presented. The average conformation of the labelled antibiotic in tetrahydrofuran, ethanol and methanol was determined by intramolecular (tetraene to NBD) fluorescence resonance energy transfer measurements. At variance with the literature [Can. J. Chem. 63 (1985) 77-85], it was concluded that there is no need to invoke a solvent-dependent conformational equilibrium between extended and closed conformers of the antibiotic, because the mean tetraene-to-NBD separating distance was found to remain constant (approximately 18 A) in all the solvents studied. In addition, the large solvent dependence of the fluorescence anisotropy observed for the non-derivatized nystatin, was rationalized on the basis of the prolate ellipsoidal geometry of the molecule. It was concluded that the rod shaped and amphipathic antibiotic remains monomeric in different solvents within the concentration range studied (2-20 microM).  相似文献

Our new simple method for calculating accurate Franck-Condon factors including nondiagonal (i.e., mode-mode) anharmonic coupling is used to simulate the C2H4+X2B3u<--C2H4X1A(g) band in the photoelectron spectrum. An improved vibrational basis set truncation algorithm, which permits very efficient computations, is employed. Because the torsional mode is highly anharmonic it is separated from the other modes and treated exactly. All other modes are treated through the second-order perturbation theory. The perturbation-theory corrections are significant and lead to a good agreement with experiment, although the separability assumption for torsion causes the C2D4 results to be not as good as those for C2H4. A variational formulation to overcome this circumstance, and deal with large anharmonicities in general, is suggested.  相似文献

Polynitrogen receptors such as bis-histidine peptides possess strong ability to bind metals, which play much important roles in medicinal, bioinorganic, bioorganic, biomimetic and supramolecular chemistry. In order to investigate the interaction of these hosts with a variety of neutral, cationic and anionic guests, several techniques, for example, NMR,potentiometric tirations and monocrystal X-ray diffraction have been employed. Among them NMR is a powerful technique for unraveling the structure of polynitrogen receptors as long as they are in solution where the rapid tumbling of molecules averages out the anisotropies such as chemical shift and dipole-dipole interactions. General 1H NMR approach has been widely used for the study of host-guest interaction, but it is difficult for the accurate measurement in complexes structures, particularly metal complexes structures in which how the polynitrogen receptors bind metal, and which nitrogen binds metal and so on.  相似文献

Linear sulfur-carbon chains C(n)S (n=1-6) of astronomical interest were examined by means of several theoretical methods. The three smallest compounds of the series were chosen to evaluate the performance of several computational models, including Hartree-Fock theory, density functional theory with the Becke's three parameter exchange functional and the correlation functional of Lee, Yang, and Parr (B3LYP), and electron-correlated methods (second-order Moller-Plesset perturbation method (MP2), configuration interaction method including single and double excitations (CISD), and quadratic configuration interaction method including single and double excitations (QCISD) in combination with a large variety of basis sets. The systematic comparison between the experiment and theory indicates that the B3LYP/6-311G** method can be considered suitable for the study of the electronic structures of the C(n)S compounds. The electronic ground states of the C(n)S molecules alternate between 1Sigma and 3Sigma for odd and even values of n, respectively. The B3LYP/6-311G** wave functions for these electronic ground states were analyzed by means of the atoms in molecules (AIM) and natural bond orbital (NBO) methods. Both approaches suggest that the electronic structures for the singlet and triplet compounds must be considered separately. According to the NBO method, singlet compounds can be properly represented by acetylenic structures with alternating single and triple bonds (S[triple bond]C-C[triple bond]C...). However, triplet compounds are better described by means of double bond-double bond cumulenic structures (S=C=C=C=C...) as a consequence of the average between different alpha and beta electronic densities. AIM delocalization indexes and NBO interactions between localized orbitals also indicate that these structures are strongly pi delocalized. Finally, the different singlet and triplet structures proposed provide a consistent explanation for the geometries, dipole moments, and spin-density values of the C(n)S compounds studied.  相似文献

The work described here concerns a challenge of general interest in supramolecular chemistry: the achievement of chiral helical organizations with controlled structures. This work provides a strategy to obtain supramolecular polymers in which a chiral helical conformation has been induced by a noncovalent association, that is, through hydrogen bonding. Polycatenar 2,4,6-triarylamino-1,3,5-triazines, which organize into columnar mesophases and are susceptible to H-bonding interactions, were chosen as a starting point to build up the chiral supramolecular structure. The stacking of these mesogens has been forced to wind in a helical way by means of H-bond association with (R)-3-methyladipic acid, within the mesophase. The optically active columnar organization has been studied in depth by optical microscopy, differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), X-ray diffraction, and circular dichroism. Formation of stable complexes between the triazine units and (R)-3-methyladipic acid has also been investigated by means of NMR diffusion-ordered spectroscopy (DOSY) experiments in chloroform.  相似文献
