In this work a method is developed for analyzing time series of periodically driven stochastic systems involving time-delayed feedback. The proposed data-analysis method yields dynamical models in terms of stochastic delay differential equations. On the basis of these dynamical models differential effects of driving forces and time-delayed feedback forces can be identified.  相似文献

With the dual-plane stereo PIV technique the instantaneous three-dimensional resolved rate-of-strain tensor is directly measured in turbulent premixed flames. Simultaneously, also the instantaneous subgrid scale (SGS) scalar flux is measured with fine resolution, where for the latter term the conditioned particle image velocimetry (CPIV) technique is applied. The subgrid resolution reaches 118 μm, allowing a 9 × 9 resolution of a subgrid filter with width Δ = 1 mm. This combined measurement approach allows the a-priori comparison of models for the SGS scalar flux term with direct measurements which is important for large eddy simulation methods in turbulent premixed flames. Two different flame conditions of a premixed V-shaped turbulent flame are investigated where the turbulence intensity is varied by a factor of nearly three. The instantaneous radial and axial SGS fluxes are compared with the following three models: gradient model with Smagorinsky approach for the turbulent viscosity, Clark model, and extended gradient model with an anisotropy term. None of these models shows a good correlation with the directly measured flux. The anisotropy term alone (being nearly similar to the Clark model) shows, however, a right trend behaviour. An analysis of the data indicates a significant dependency of the experimentally determined SGS flux on the Favre averaged reaction progress (spatially averaged over the SGS area). A relatively simple closure for the SGS flux, which describes the dilatation due to the gasdynamic expansion, and which is a function proportional to , shows a rather good correlation with direct measurement for some of the components. A successful SGS scalar flux model for premixed turbulent flames most likely needs to include at least two different effects.  相似文献

X‐ray absorption and scattering spectroscopies involving the 3d transition‐metal K‐ and L‐edges have a long history in studying inorganic and bioinorganic molecules. However, there have been very few studies using the M‐edges, which are below 100 eV. Synchrotron‐based X‐ray sources can have higher energy resolution at M‐edges. M‐edge X‐ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and resonant inelastic X‐ray scattering (RIXS) could therefore provide complementary information to K‐ and L‐edge spectroscopies. In this study, M2,3‐edge XAS on several Co, Ni and Cu complexes are measured and their spectral information, such as chemical shifts and covalency effects, are analyzed and discussed. In addition, M2,3‐edge RIXS on NiO, NiF2 and two other covalent complexes have been performed and different dd transition patterns have been observed. Although still preliminary, this work on 3d metal complexes demonstrates the potential to use M‐edge XAS and RIXS on more complicated 3d metal complexes in the future. The potential for using high‐sensitivity and high‐resolution superconducting tunnel junction X‐ray detectors below 100 eV is also illustrated and discussed.  相似文献

Pharyngoesophageal gastric acid reflux is thought to initiate chronic posterior laryngitis. The gold standard for measuring gastric reflux is dual-channel 24-hour pH monitoring. This is a time-consuming, inconvenient, expensive method that is not available in all areas. New therapeutic regimes that make use of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) have proven to be therapeutically efficient for control of acid reflux. Twenty-four consecutive patients with chronic voice disorders and signs of posterior laryngitis were selected for therapy. Twenty-four hour pH monitoring was performed independently before the therapy. The trial therapy consisted of all patients receiving pantoprazole, 40 mg once daily for 6 weeks. Immediately following the therapy a statistically significant (p < 0.05) improvement was observed in all patients. This improvement was analyzed retrospectively by comparison with the results of 24-hour pH monitoring. In 71% of the patients the 24-hour pH-monitoring gave a positive result showing a high number of patients with extraesophageal reflux in our study group. Patients with positive results of pH-monitoring responded in a statistically significant manner (p < 0.05) to the pantoprazole therapy, whereas those patients without detected reflux did not. A 3-month follow-up of the patients with a positive result of the pH-monitoring confirmed the improvement. No patients reported adverse effects. A 6-week treatment with pantoprazole can be clinically justified. It helps to save time and reduce costs, allows for selection of reflux-negative patients for alternative therapy, and may prevent inadequate treatment of patients with false-negative pH monitoring. Twenty-four hour pH monitoring is still recommended for patients unresponsive to this trial therapy.  相似文献

We exploited the slow relaxation of methyl group rotational tunneling states to perform optical hole burning inn-alkane crystals. The dye probe used was dimethyl-s-tetrazine and its perdeuterated derivative. We investigatedn-octane, perdeuteratedn-octane andn-hexane as host crystals. By comparing the experimentally observed hole-antihole splitting of the protonated and perdeuterated dye probe, all parameters, i.e. the tunneling splitting in the ground-and in the electronically excited state as well as the respective heights of the potential can be determined, assuming a threefold rotational symmetry axis. We found that matrix deuteration has a severe influence on the potential heights, which increase by a factor of two. With these parameters determined, many features of the complex relaxation behavior of the tunneling states can be qualitatively understood: We found Raman-type conversion processes inn-octane-h 18, Orbach-type processes inn-octane-d 18 and inn-hexane we found, in addition, a relaxation regime governed by a Direct process. The experimental activation energies as well as the cross-over temperatures are in satisfying agreement with current theories.  相似文献

The conformal constraint equations on space-like hypersurfaces are discussed near points which represent either time-like or spatial infinity for an asymptotically flat solution of Einstein's vacuum field equations. In the case of time-like infinity a certain radiativity condition, is derived which must be satisfied by the data at that point. The case of space-like infinity is analysed in detail for static space-times with non-vanishing mass. It is shown that the conformal structure implied here on a slice of constant Killing time, which extends analytically through infinity, satisfies at spatial infinity the radiativity condition. Thus to any static solution exists a certain radiative solution which has a smooth structure at past null infinity and is regular at past time-like infinity. A characterization of these solutions by their free data is given and non-symmetry properties are discussed.  相似文献

A self-pulsing effect termed quantum echoes has been observed in experiments with an open superconducting and a normal conducting microwave billiard whose geometry provides soft chaos, i.e., a mixed phase space portrait with a large stable island. For such systems a periodic response to an incoming pulse has been predicted. Its period has been associated with the degree of development of a horseshoe describing the topology of the classical dynamics. The experiments confirm this picture and reveal the topological information.  相似文献

NH radicals from a molecular beam are cooled using a novel beam-loaded buffer gas method. The radicals are produced in a glow discharge beam source and injected into cryogenic helium gas. Up to 1012 molecules in their ground electronic, vibrational, and rotational state are detected in the buffer gas and translational temperatures under 6 K are achieved.
