Schwächung des feinbaulichen Zusammenhanges durch Wasser und wässerige Lösungen.

Zusammenfassung Lockerung feinbaulicher Verbände unter dem Einfluß des Wassers zufolge seiner hohen Dielektrizitätskonstanten und eine entsprechende Schwächung elektrochemischer Felder. Modellversuche an Bromphenanthrensulfosäure, die durch steigende wässerige Imbibition aus dem kristallinen Zustand in die parakristalline Bauweise (abgestuft in- und-parakristalline Phase), sowie in Lösung gebracht werden kann ohne thermische Einwirkung. Die feinbaulich vom Kristallinnern verschiedene Oberflächenzone der Kristalle wird als Deckfilm in ihrer Entstehung erörtert und ein sich vektoriell verschieden betätigender Einfluß des Wassers und anderer Stoffe auf die Kristalltracht besprochen.Demonstration der Entstehung von Myelinfäden der Zerebroside und Phosphatide aus Sphärolithen unter dem Einfluß von Wasser. Besprechung des hohen Wassergehaltes als Ursache der chemischen Labilität des organischen Plasmas, sowie seiner topologisch-physiologischen Feingliederung. Plasmatische Filme und Fäden.     

On Poincaré Transformations and the Modular Group of the Algebra Associated with a Wedge

We show that under the hypotheses of Strominger, Yau and Zaslow, a mirror partner of a K3 surface X with a fibration in special Lagrangian tori can be obtained by rotating the complex structure of X within its hyper-Kähler family of complex structures. Furthermore, the same hypotheses force the B-field to vanish.     

Net polarization of a molecular beam by strong electrostatic or radiative fields

We present a simple analytic approximation for evaluating the ensemble-averaged orientation or alignment of a beam of molecules subjected to a strong static or radiative field. This approximation is based on the eigenproperties which polar or polarizable molecules exhibit in the strong-field, harmonic-librator limit, and on the Boltzmann statistics of the free rotor states which adiabatically correlate with the harmonic librator states. For either the permanent or induced dipole case, the resultant formula involves just two dimensionless parameters which characterize the strength of the molecule-field interaction and the rotational temperature. The net polarization of a molecular beam thus obtained is shown to be in an excellent agreement with the exact values computed numerically from first principles. The validity range of the approximation includes the large-interaction, high temperature regions of the parameter space where first-principle calculations are onerous.     

Local nets and self-adjoint extensions of quantum field operators

We consider Wightman fields having the property that some closed extensions of the field operators generate locally commuting von Neumann algebras. We show that for such fields the hermitian field operators have self-adjoint extensions, possibly in an enlarged Hilbert space, such that bounded functions of the self-adjoint operators commute locally.
