We study the adsorption of homogeneous or heterogeneous polymers onto heterogeneous planar surfaces with exponentially decaying site-site correlations, using a variational reference system approach. As a main result, we derive simple equations for the adsorption-desorption transition line. We show that it is preferable to have a small amount of strongly adsorbing sites or monomers rather than a greater amount of weakly adsorbing ones. The results are discussed with respect to their implications for the physics of molecular recognition.  相似文献

Interpolymer complex formation between poly(L -proline) (PLP) with helical structure and poly(methacrylic acid) (PMAA) with random-coil structure through hydrogen bonding in aqueous medium has been studied by several experimental techniques, e.g., viscometry, turbidimetry, potentiometry, conductometry, scanning electron microscopy, and x-ray diffraction methods. The decreases in reduced viscosity of the solution on addition of an increasing quantity of PLP to a constant amount of PMAA reveals the formation of a complex between PLP and PMAA. The minimum in reduced viscosity at a unit-mole ratio [PLP]/[PMAA] = 1.0 suggests a 1 : 1 complex formation. A distinct change in the curves for turbidity, pH, and conductance versus [PLP]/[PMAA] supports this conclusion. A scanning electron micrograph for the 1 : 1 PLP–PMAA complexes shows that the PLP/PMAA complex has the shape of entangled long fibers. An x-ray diffraction pattern for the PLP/PMAA complexes gives no diffraction patterns which appear in pure PLP, indicating the destruction of the helical structure of PLP due to the interpolymer complexation. Mixtures of PMAA with poly(γ-hydroxy-L -proline) (PHLP) which has a similar conformation as PLP, but involves intra- or intermolecular hydrogen bonds, has also been investigated by vicometry measurements. The reduced viscosity of a solution of the mixed polymers increases with increasing [PHLP], indicating no complex formation. All the results reveal that the magnitude and the nature of the forces acting in the polymers play an important role in interpolymer complexation.  相似文献

The optical linear magnetic birefringence of single-domain NiO crystals was measured at temperatures above and below the antiferromagnetic phase transition. The analysis of the experimental data yield a Néel temperature of TN = (523.7 ± 0.2)K and a critical exponent β = 0.325+0.01-0.02 which determines the temperature behaviour of the magnetic long range order parameter S? ~ (1?TTN)β. This critical behaviour of S? is found to be continued to temperatures well below TN.  相似文献

Small-angle light-scattering (SALS) patterns were obtained during melting and crystallization of blends of linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) with conventional low-density polyethylene (LDPE). Quantitative measurements of these SALS patterns using a two-dimensional optical multichannel analyzer apparatus (OMA2) indicate that the LLDPE which is miscible with the LDPE component in the molten state crystallizes first, forming volume-filling spherulites. The LDPE then crystallizes within the preformed spherulites. These findings are supported by optical microscopy studies showing that the blend samples were volume filled with one kind of the spherulites having a radius comparable to that of the pure LLDPE. The SALS intensity curve changes with composition of the blends in a manner that may be interpreted by considering the orientation of crystals within spherulites. It has been observed that the spherulites in the blend have more diffuse boundaries as the LDPE content increases. The lattice spacing and long spacings in blends were obtained by wide-angle and small-angle x-ray scattering, respectively. The SALS technique along with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is shown to be useful for determining the crystallization behavior of a crystallizable polymer blend system.  相似文献

Fullerenes are a direct link between atoms with discrete electronic energy levels and solids with a band structure and a well-defined surface. In this paper, we report on a quantum mechanical treatment of charge transfer and ionization in the ion-ion collision system 3He2+ + C 60 + . This approach considers under- and over-barrier transitions through the one-dimensional barrier between the collision partners. The calculated cross sections for charge transfer compare favorably with experimental data measured in the center-of-mass energy range from 27 to 196 keV employing the crossed beams technique.  相似文献

The characterization of the dynamic performances of a manipulator is important both to compare different manipulators and to improve the dynamic performances of a manipulator during the design stage. In a previous paper the concepts of swiftness and of dynamic isotropy were used to characterize some dynamic performances of 3-dof manipulators. This paper analyzes the usefulness of these concepts for three-dof planar manipulators and shows that the concept of swiftness is still significant, whereas the concept of dynamic isotropy has no practical interest. Moreover, it introduces three new dynamic properties that are useful in the design of a 3-dof planar manipulator. Finally, it proposes some indices that measure both the swiftness and the three new dynamic properties and shows how to use them, both for evaluating the dynamic performances of a given 3-dof planar manipulator and for improving the dynamic performances during its design.  相似文献

This article presents a spectrum result on maximal partial ovoids of the generalized quadrangle Q(4,q), q even. We prove that for every integer k in an interval of, roughly, size [q2/10,9q2/10], there exists a maximal partial ovoid of size k on Q(4,q), q even. Since the generalized quadrangle W(q), q even, defined by a symplectic polarity of PG(3,q) is isomorphic to the generalized quadrangle Q(4,q), q even, the same result is obtained for maximal partial ovoids of W(q), q even. As equivalent results, the same spectrum result is obtained for minimal blocking sets with respect to planes of PG(3,q), q even, and for maximal partial 1-systems of lines on the Klein quadric Q+(5,q), q even.  相似文献

For pairing based cryptography we need elliptic curves defined over finite fields whose group order is divisible by some prime with where k is relatively small. In Barreto et al. and Dupont et al. [Proceedings of the Third Workshop on Security in Communication Networks (SCN 2002), LNCS, 2576, 2003; Building curves with arbitrary small Mov degree over finite fields, Preprint, 2002], algorithms for the construction of ordinary elliptic curves over prime fields with arbitrary embedding degree k are given. Unfortunately, p is of size .We give a method to generate ordinary elliptic curves over prime fields with p significantly less than which also works for arbitrary k. For a fixed embedding degree k, the new algorithm yields curves with where or depending on k. For special values of k even better results are obtained.We present several examples. In particular, we found some curves where is a prime of small Hamming weight resp. with a small addition chain.AMS classification: 14H52, 14G50  相似文献
