Well ordered V2O3(0 0 0 1) films were prepared on Au(1 1 1) and W(1 1 0) substrates. These films are terminated by a layer of vanadyl groups under typical UHV conditions. Reduction by electron bombardment may remove the oxygen atoms of the vanadyl layer, leading to a surface terminated by vanadium atoms. The interaction of oxygen with the reduced V2O3(0 0 0 1) surface has been studied in the temperature range from 80 to 610 K. Thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS), infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy (IRAS), high resolution electron energy loss spectroscopy (HREELS), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and density functional theory (DFT) were used to study the adsorbed oxygen species. Low temperature adsorption of oxygen on reduced V2O3(0 0 0 1) occurs both dissociatively and molecularly. At 90 K a negatively charged molecular oxygen species is observed. Upon annealing the adsorbed oxygen species dissociates, re-oxidizing the reduced surface by the formation of vanadyl species. Density functional theory was employed to calculate the structure and the vibrational frequencies of the O2 species on the surface. Using both cluster and periodic models, the surface species could be identified as η2-peroxo () lying flat on surface, bonded to the surface vanadium atoms. Although the O-O vibrational normal mode involves motions almost parallel to the surface, it can be detected by infrared spectroscopy because it is connected with a change of the dipole moment perpendicular to the surface. 相似文献

We present the combination of two complementary micro‐photoluminescence spectroscopic techniques operating in transient and steady state condition, respectively. Introducing the time domain into the well‐established micro‐photoluminescence mapping approach operating under steady state conditions demonstrates a distinct improvement of the robustness and reliability in the determination of charge carrier lifetime measured with micrometer spatial resolution. Lifetimes from 50 ns to above ms are accessible. We elaborate a calibration procedure and apply the combined all‐photoluminescence setup to high‐performance multicrystalline silicon. A lifetime image obtained from the established photoluminescence imaging technique is reconstructed from the microscopic map by considering lateral diffusion and optical blurring, revealing a more detrimental influence of small angle grain boundaries as well as a higher lifetime within grains as may be deduced from the standard imaging technique. Strong fluence dependence of photodesorption cross sections is observed in femtosecond laser photodesorption of NO from (NO)2 on silver nanoparticles, in contrast to femtosecond photodesorption on bulk metals. The time scale of excitation buildup is found to be equal or less than the pulse duration of ~100 fs; NO translational energies are independent of fluence and pulse duration. We report recent achievements in adapting industrially used solar cell processes on nanotextured surfaces. Nanostructures were etched into c‐Si surfaces by dry exothermic plasma‐less reaction of F species with Si in atmospheric pressure conditions and then modified using a short post‐etching process. Nanotextured multicrystalline wafers are used to prepare Al‐BSF solar cells using industrially feasible solar cell proc‐ essing steps. In comparison to the reference acidic textured solar cells, the nanostructured cells showed gain in short circuit current (Jsc) of up to 0.8 mA/cm2 and absolute gain in conversion efficiency of up to 0.3%.
