The ten-fold spin-orbital degeneracy of true d-electrons is included in the non-spin-orbitally degenerate Hubbard model treatment theory of the Mott metal-insulator transition of Rice and Brinkman, and Gutzwiller. The Rice-Brinkman and Kohn phase diagrams of the Mott metal-insulator transition are shown to shift due to spin-orbital degeneracy of true d-electrons so as to increase the available phase space in the temperature-“interaction” Mott phase diagram for the formation of the antiferromagnetic insulator, superlattice metal or superlattice insulator states in these phase diagrams.  相似文献

By changing the boundary conditions of the relativistics string in extra dimensions, the intercept α(0) is lowered to 1 ? 116 (26 ?D0) in the modified orbital model, where D0 is the dimensionality of the Poincaré-invariant subspace of space-time. In the modified model of the spinning string, the boson intercept becomes 12 ? 18 (10 ? Do), while the fermion intercept stays at zero. The projective invariance of the ground state is broken, giving the “photon” mass by a Higgs-like mechanism. Unfortunately, the strings have a negative “G parity”, so the usual, unshifted strings appear as intermediate states in the scattering amplitudes. Also, some of the amplitudes are not dual.  相似文献

Multiwall carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were synthesized in supercritical toluene at 600 degrees C and approximately 12.4 MPa using ferrocene, Fe, or FePt nanocrystals as growth catalysts. Toluene serves as both the carbon source for nanotube formation and the solvent. In contrast to vapor-phase synthetic routes, the supercritical solvent provides high precursor concentration and a homogeneous reaction environment with dispersed growth catalyst particles. Both carbon filaments and MWNTs are produced by this approach, and a growth mechanism is proposed to explain the factors that determine the nanotube versus filament morphology. The plasmon energies of the pi and pi + sigma valence electrons were measured using electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS) of individual carbon fibers and MWNTs as a characterization tool to complement the imaging data obtained from electron microscopy.  相似文献

The problem of estimation of an unknown response function of a time-invariant continuous linear system is considered. Discrete-time sample input–output cross-correlograms are taken as estimates of the response function. The inputs are supposed to be zero-mean stationary Gaussian processes close, in some sense, to a white noise. Both asymptotic normality of finite-dimensional distributions of the estimates and their asymptotic normality in spaces of continuous functions are studied. Our basic tool is a new integral representation for cumulants of the estimate as a finite sum of integrals involving cyclic products of kernels. Some inequalities for these integrals are obtained and their asymptotic behaviour is studied.  相似文献

Whole-cell patch-clamp recordings on isolated inner hair cells (IHCs) of guinea pig cochleae have revealed the presence of voltage-gated potassium channels. A biophysical model of an IHC is presented that indicates activation of slow voltage-gated potassium channels may lead to receptor potentials whose dc component decreases during the stimulus, and membrane potential hyperpolarizes when the stimulus is turned off. Both the decreasing dc and the hyperpolarization are, respectively, consistent with rapid adaptation and suppression of spontaneous rate in the auditory nerve. Receptor potentials recorded in vivo do not show these features, and when a nonspecific leak is included in the model to simulate microelectrode impalement, the model's receptor potentials become similar to those in vivo. The nonspecific leak creates an electrical shunt that masks slow channel activity and allows the cell to depolarize. Both the decreasing dc and the hyperpolarization are sensitive to the resting potential. Because the reported resting potentials in vivo and in vitro differ greatly, the model is used to investigate homeostatic mechanisms responsible for the resting potential. It is found that the voltage-gated potassium channels have the greatest influence on the resting potential, but that the standing transducer current may be sufficient to eliminate the decreasing dc and after-stimulus hyperpolarization.  相似文献
