Formation of the plasma potential in a plasma that contains energetic electrons and is bounded by a floating collector that
emits electrons is studied theoretically. The problem is treated by a static. kinetic plasma-sheath model of Schwager and
Birdsall [Phys. Fluids B2 (1990) 1057], which we have extended in order to include additional energetic electron population. The distribution of these
electrons is assumed to be a high-temperature Maxwellian. They are called hot electrons. In the paper we study effects of
the density and temperature of the hot electrons on the formation of the plasma potential. The model shows that for certain
densities and temperatures of the hot electron population plasmas with two different plasma potentials can coexist in the
system. These two plasmas are separated spatially by a double layer. For the case when there is no emission of electrons from
the collector, results of the model are compared with computer simulation and very good agreement between the model and the
simulation is found. The simulation also confirms existence of two plasmas with two different potentials separated by a double

A model for the longitudinal structure function FL at low x and low Q2 is presented, which includes the kinematical constraint FL ~ Q4 as Q2 → 0. It is based on the photon-gluon fusion mechanism suitably extrapolated to the region of low Q2. The contribution of quarks having limited transverse momentum is treated phenomenologically assuming that it is described by the soft pomeron exchange mechanism. The ratio R = FL/(F2 ? FL), with the F2 appropriately extrapolated to the region of low Q2, is also discussed. 相似文献

Thermoanalytical characteristics and Raman scattering of high purity sulfur and ternary bulk glasses GexAsxS(100−2x) for x=4-22 at. % were studied. The intermediate phase characterized by vanishing of non-reversing heat flow ΔHnr, i.e. so-called the thermally reversing window was found between mean coordination number 〈r〉∼2.28-2.47. Separated phase of non-crystalline cycloocta-S, manifesting itself by λ-transition at ∼155 °C, was found for glasses with sulfur content higher than ∼80 at.%. Raman spectra of studied Ge-As-S glasses showed different shapes in three different areas according to three distinct phases of network glasses-floppy, intermediate, rigid. 相似文献

We analyze a special class of 1-D quantum walks (QWs) realized using optical multi-ports. We assume non-perfect multi-ports showing errors in the connectivity, i.e. with a small probability the multi-ports can connect not to their nearest neighbor but to another multi-port at a fixed distance – we call this a jump. We study two cases of QW with jumps where multiple displacements can emerge at one timestep. The first case assumes time-correlated jumps (static disorder). In the second case, we choose the positions of jumps randomly in time (dynamic disorder). The probability distributions of position of the QW walker in both instances differ significantly: dynamic disorder leads to a Gaussian-like distribution, while for static disorder we find two distinct behaviors depending on the parity of jump size. In the case of even-sized jumps, the distribution exhibits a three-peak profile around the position of the initial excitation, whereas the probability distribution in the odd case follows a Laplace-like discrete distribution modulated by additional (exponential) peaks for long times. Finally, our numerical results indicate that by an appropriate mapping a universal functional behavior of the variance of the long-time probability distribution can be revealed with respect to the scaled average of jump size. 相似文献

and fractal dimension D were tested as indicators of mechanical properties inferred from fracture surfaces of porous solids. High porous hydrated
cement pastes were used as prototypes of porous materials. Both the profile parameter H
q
and the fractal dimension D showed capability to assess compressive strength from the fracture surfaces of hydrated pastes. From a practical point of
view the 3D profile parameter H
q
seems to be more convenient as an indicator of mechanical properties, as its values suffer much less from statistical scatter

The reactive vacuum deposition of CeO2 on Cu(1 1 1) surface in oxygen atmosphere provides high quality epitaxial ceria overlayers. We report the growth characteristics of Ce oxide, the structures, and the temperature stability of the oxide phases as investigated by low-energy electron diffraction (LEED) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. We find that Ce oxide on the Cu(1 1 1) grows initially in the form of islands giving sharp hexagonal LEED pattern of the CeO2(1 1 1) structure corresponding to the (1.5 × 1.5) structure. The CeO2-Cu(1 1 1) films exhibited mixed valence states and temperature dependent CeO2-Ce2O3 transition above 900 K due to the vacuum annealing. The transition progressed more rapidly at the surface, probably by formation of oxygen vacancies. 相似文献

A spectral-domain white-light interferometric technique is used for measuring distances in a Michelson interferometer with a mirror represented by a thin-film structure (TFS) on a substrate. A fibre-optic spectrometer is employed for recording spectral interferograms that include wide wavelength range effects of dispersion in a cube beam splitter and multiple reflection within the TFS. Knowing the effective thickness of the beam splitter, its dispersion and parameters of the TFS and substrate, the positions of the second interferometer mirror are determined precisely by a least-squares fitting of the theoretical spectral interferograms to the recorded ones. We apply the technique to the beam splitter made of BK7 optical glass and to a uniform SiO2 thin film on a silicon wafer. We compare the results of the processing that include and do not include the effect of the TFS. 相似文献

Excited states of 99Ag were populated via the 50Cr + 58Ni (261 MeV) reaction using the NORDBALL detector array equipped with charged-particle and neutron detector systems for reaction
channel separation. On the basis of the measured γγ-coincidence relations and angular distribution ratios a significantly
extended level scheme has been constructed up to E
x ∼ 7.8 MeV and I = 35/2. The experimental results were described within the framework of the shell model. Candidates for states fully aligned
in the πg
9/2
-3ν(d
5/2, g
7/2)2 valence configuration space were found at 4109 and 6265 keV.

We study condensation of ethanol-hexanol vapour by numerical solution of kinetic equations. The number of droplets formed
in unit volume is computed within self-consistent classical model. It is shown that formation of ethanol-rich droplets prevails
at the initial stage of nucleation process, but in the stationary state formation of droplets near the saddle point (on cluster
formation energy surface) plays the dominant role.

Changes in the distribution of alloying elements and phase composition in the surroundings of the welding interface of two martensitic steels were studied by means of Conversion Electron Mössbauer Spectroscopy.
