Ab initio molecular orbital calculations with a double-ζ basis have been carrried out on five models of beryllocene, Cp2Be, with fixed geometries. The lowest energies are obtained for the π-Cp, σ-Cp and D5d models.
The He(I) photoelectron spectrum of Cp2Be was recorded and the ionization potentials of the first bands were compared with the orbital energies obtained from the molecular orbital calculations. A satisfactory fit between experiment and calculations was obtained for a slip sandwich model of Cs symmetry. A model of C5v symmetry is only compatible with the PE spectrum if the Jahn—Teller splitting of the lowest 2E1 state of the molecular ion is exceptionally large, 1.0 eV. 相似文献

The electron repulsion integrals arising in LCAO-MO theory are approximated by replacement of the product of two orbitals on different centers by linear combinations of one-center products. The approximation differs from those previously proposed in that the coefficients of the various terms are determined by requiring agreement for certain integrals, and in the emphasis of the role of symmetry in selecting the one-center products. For two-center integrals, the new approximation is significantly better than older approximate methods. Reasons are given for expecting this improvement to extend also to multi-center integrals.
Zusammenfassung Es wird ein Verfahren zur näherungsweisen Berechnung von Elektronenwechselwirkungsintegralen der LCAO-MO-Theorie beschrieben, bei welchem das Produkt zweier Zustandsfunktionen an verschiedenen Zentren durch eine Linearkombination von Produkten am gleichen Zentrum ersetzt wird. Der Unterschied zu ähnlichen Ansätzen liegt in der Justierung der Koeffizienten. Für Zweizentrenintegrale liefert die hier vorgeschlagene Methode bedeutend bessere Ergebnisse als das Mulliken-Verfahren.
Résumé Les intégrales de répulsion électroniques intervenant dans la théorie LCAO MO sont calculées d'une manière approchée en remplaçant le produit de deux orbitales sur des centres différents par des combinaisons linéaires de produits à un centre. Cette approximation diffère de celles proposées auparavant par la détermination des coefficients des différents termes au moyen de l'ajustement de certaines intégrales et par l'importance du rôle de la symétrie dans le choix des produits monocentriques. Cette nouvelle approximation est bien meilleure que les anciennes en ce qui concerne les intégrales bi-centriques. The complexes [Ir(COD)(η5-C7H9)] and [Ir(COD)(η5-C8H11)] are obtained by the isoprophyl Grignard synthesis of [Ir(COD)Cl]2 (COD = η4-1,5-cyclooctadiene) in the presence of cycloheptatriene, and cyclooctatriene, respectively. The later reaction yields [IrH(COD)(δ4-1,3,6-C8H10)] as a by-product which, in contrast to other [IrH(η4-cyclodiene)2] complexes, does not show H-addition-elimination equilibria. Reduction of [Ir(1,3-C7H10)2Cl] with C2H5OH/Na2CO3 yields [Ir(η4-1,3-C7H10)](η5-C7H9)] which was characterized by X-ray analysis. [Ir(COD)Cl]2 reacts with Na2C8H8, and after hydrolysis unstable [Ir(COD)(η5-C8H9)] is formed which by protonation with HPF6 is converted into the [Ir(COD)(η6-1,3,5-C8H10)]+ cation. 57Fe electric and magnetic hyperfine parameters were calculated for a series of 10 iron model complexes, covering a wide range of oxidation and spin states. Employing the B3LYP hybrid method, results from nonrelativistic density functional theory (DFT) and quasi-relativistic DFT within the zero-order regular approximation (ZORA) were compared. Electron densities at the iron nuclei were calculated and correlated with experimental isomer shifts. It was shown that the fit parameters do not depend on a specific training set of iron complexes and are, therefore, more universal than might be expected. The nonrelativistic and quasi-relativistic electron densities gave fit parameters of similar quality; the ZORA densities are only shifted by a factor of 1.32, upward in the direction of the four-component Dirac-Fock value. From a correlation of calculated electric field gradients and experimental quadrupole splittings, the value of the 57Fe nuclear quadrupole moment was redetermined to a value of 0.16 barn, in good agreement with other studies. The ZORA approach gave no additional improvement of the calculated quadrupole splittings in comparison to the nonrelativistic approach. The comparison of the calculated and measured 57Fe isotropic hyperfine coupling constants (hfcc's) revealed that both the ZORA approach and the inclusion of spin-orbit contributions lead to better agreement between theory and experiment in comparison to the nonrelativistic results. For all iron complexes with small spin-orbit contributions (high-spin ferric and ferryl systems), a distinct underestimation of the isotropic hfcc's was found. Scaling factors of 1.81 (nonrelativistic DFT) and 1.69 (ZORA) are suggested. The calculated 57Fe isotropic hfcc's of the remaining model systems (low-spin ferric and high-spin ferrous systems) contain 10-50% second-order contributions and were found to be in reasonable agreement with the experimental results. This is assumed to be the consequence of error cancellation because g-tensor calculations for these systems are of poor quality with the existing DFT approaches. Excellent agreement between theory and experiment was found for the 57Fe anisotropic hfcc's. Finally, all of the obtained fit parameters were used for an application study of the [Fe(H2O)6]3+ ion. The calculated spectroscopic data are in good agreement with the Mossbauer and electron paramagnetic resonance results discussed in detail in a forthcoming paper. 相似文献

The model BAGS (Boxmodel for Aerosol and Gasphase Simulations) has been developed. It is composed of two major modules: the first one describes the system of the chemical reactions in the gaseous phase, the second one calculates the aerosol chemical composition and the dimensional distribution of the particles. The boxmodel has been developed with the introduction of new chemical and physical processes, not previously included, in particular the formation of Secondary Organic Aerosol. The other implemented processes are a module for the dynamic of the particle population, nucleation, coagulation and dry deposition. The last phase of the work has been a check of the BAGS capabilities by a series of tests, that have permitted to compare it with other models (MAPS and MADM). Dicyclohexano-18-crown-6 has the shape of a saddle with the potassium cation sitting at the saddlepoint. The structure of the 2-nitrophenoxide anion is dominanted by the quinoid resonance contributor. Because the complex is devoid of significant intercomplex interactions, it is a prototypical 1:1:1 complex.

Structure Elucidation of (Hydroxy-oxo-cyclopentenyl)alkanoic Acids, the Aldol-Condensation Products of Dioxoene Acids from Cattle Liver During homogenization of cattle liver the highly instable dioxoene acids 13a , 13b , and 13c are formed. These acids cyclize in alkaline solution to yield pairs of stable (hydroxy-oxo-cyclopentenyl)alkanoic acids, which were isolated as methyl esters 4a / 5a , 4b / 5b , and 4c / 5c . The structures of these compounds were deduced from an enriched 3-mg mixture sample by microchemical reactions combined with a GC/MS analysis of the reaction products. Compound 13a was obtained as methyl ester by oxidation of the methyl ester of the corresponding F-acid with NaOCl. It was not possible to isolate 13a in pure form due to its high sensitivity. The molecular structure of 10-(1,3-Dithiolan-2-ylidene)-10H-indeno[1,2-f] -1,2,3,4,5-pentathiepin S7C12H89 has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystals are triclinic, space group PI, with two molecules in a unit cell of dimensions α = 8.931(2), b = 9.387(2), c = 10.175(2) Å, α = 75.73(2), β = 73.35(1), γ = 64.37(2)°. The structure was solved by direct methods, and refined to a final R value of 3.3% for 1925 independent reflections. The molecule consists of an indene core with a nearly co-planar dithiolane and a fused pentasulfide chain. The S5C2 ring is in the chair configuration, with an average S? S distance of 2.052 Å. There is no variation of bond lengths as is frequently seen in multi-sulfur chains. The indenone ring shows no evidence of any delocalization, while the dithiolane ring is disordered at the two methylene positions. No attempt was made to resolve the disorder, since it is frequently seen and has been thoroughly investigated previously. 相似文献
