A complete characterisation of fibres used in Spanish artwork is necessary to provide a complete knowledge of these natural
fibres and their stage of degradation. Textile samples employed as painting supports on canvas and one sample of unprocessed
plant material were chosen for this study. All the samples were investigated by synchrotron radiation X-ray diffraction (SR-XRD).
Flax and cotton have the Cellulose I structure. The values of the crystalline index (CI) were calculated for both types of
fibres. The structure of Cellulose IV was associated with the unprocessed plant material. The information obtained by SR-XRD
was confirmed by laboratory techniques including scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy

We consider globally regular and black hole solutions in SU(2) Einstein–Yang–Mills–Higgs theory, coupled to a dilaton field.
The basic solutions represent magnetic monopoles, monopole–antimonopole systems or black holes with monopole or dipole hair.
When the globally regular solutions carry additionally electric charge, an angular momentum density results, except in the
simplest spherically symmetric case. We evaluate the global charges of the solutions and their effective action, and analyze
their dependence on the gravitational coupling strength. We show, that in the presence of a dilaton field, the black hole
solutions satisfy a generalized Smarr type mass formula.

We report scanning tunneling microscope measurements showing a substantial decrease of the current, almost to zero, on the Si(111)-(7x7) reconstruction in the near-to-contact region under low bias conditions. First principles simulations for the tip-sample interaction and transport calculations show that this effect is driven by the substantial local modification of the atomic and electronic structure of the surface. The chemical reactivity of the adatom dangling bond states that dominate the electronic density of states close to the Fermi level and their spatial localization result in a strong modification of the electronic current. 相似文献

Neodymium based fluorescence presents several advantages in comparison to conventional rare earth or enzyme-substrate based fluorescence emitting sources (e.g.Tb, HRP) . Based on this fact we have herein explored a Nd-based fluoroimmunoassay. We efficiently detected the presence of an oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL) in human plasma a well-known marker for cardiovascular diseases, which causes around 30% of deaths worldwide. Conventional fluoroimmunoassay uses time-resolved luminescence techniques, with detection in the visible range, to eliminate the fluorescence background from the biological specimens. By using an immunoassay based on functionalized Y2O3:Nd3+ nanoparticles, where the excitation and emission processes in the Nd3+ ion occur in the near-infrared (NIR) region, we have succeeded in eliminating the interferences from the biological fluorescence background, avoiding the use of time-resolved techniques. This yields higher emission intensity from the Nd3+-nanolabels and efficient detection of anti-oxidized low-density lipoproteins (anti-oxLDL) by Y2O3:Nd3+-antibody-antigen conjugation, leading to a novel biolabeling method. 相似文献

Mössbauer spectroscopy was used to follow the aging of ferrihydrite with different amounts of acetate, to achieve more crystalline products. Mössbauer spectra of fresh samples did not show any magnetic components. After two years aging, the solids presented crystalline fractions. Hematite formation was inhibited as acetate content increased in solids. For an acetate/iron molar ratio equal to 0.63 goethite was formed instead of hematite. X-ray diffraction confirmed these results. This work shows that synthetic samples can be used for elucidating the anti-hematitic effect of organic matter already detected in soils. 相似文献

The vibration-rotation factor (FVR), the purely vibrational transition moment (∣R(O)∣), and the integrated band intensity (Sband) are deduced from the measurements. The results are: FVR(m)=1+(0.24±0.08)x10-4m+(0.55+0.21)x10-4m2, ∣R(O)∣= (4.340±0.008x10-3 debye, Sband=96372±190cm-1km-1atm-1STP. The efficient combination of directions is a significant problem in line search methods that either use negative curvature,
or wish to include additional information such as the gradient or different approximations to the Newton direction.
In this paper we describe a new procedure to combine several of these directions within an interior-point primal-dual algorithm.
Basically, we combine in an efficient manner a modified Newton direction with the gradient of a merit function and a direction
of negative curvature, if it exists. We also show that the procedure is well-defined, and it has reasonable theoretical properties
regarding the rate of convergence of the method.
We also present numerical results from an implementation of the proposed algorithm on a set of small test problems from the
CUTE collection.
