We consider globally regular and black hole solutions in SU(2) Einstein–Yang–Mills–Higgs theory, coupled to a dilaton field. The basic solutions represent magnetic monopoles, monopole–antimonopole systems or black holes with monopole or dipole hair. When the globally regular solutions carry additionally electric charge, an angular momentum density results, except in the simplest spherically symmetric case. We evaluate the global charges of the solutions and their effective action, and analyze their dependence on the gravitational coupling strength. We show, that in the presence of a dilaton field, the black hole solutions satisfy a generalized Smarr type mass formula. B. Kleihaus gratefully acknowledges support by the German Aerospace Center. The thermal chemistry of allyl alcohol (CH2CHCH2OH) on a Ni(100) single-crystal surface was studied by the temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The allyl alcohol adsorbs molecularly on the metal surface at 100 K. Intact molecular desorption from the surface occurs at temperatures around 180 K, but some molecules exhibit chemical reactivity on the surface: activation of the OH, CC, and CO bonds produces η1(O)-allyloxy CH2CHCH2O(a), η2(C, C) allyl alcohol (C(a)H2C(a)HCH2OH), and η3(C, C, O)-alkoxide (C(a)H2C(a)CH2 O(a)) intermediates. Further thermal activation of allyl alcohol on the surface yields propylene (CH2CHCH3), 1-propanol (CH3CH2CH2OH), propanal (CH3CH2CHO), and combustion and dehydrogenation products (H2O, H2, and CO). Propylene desorbs from the surface at temperatures of around 270 K. Hydrogenation to the η3(C, C, O)-alkoxide intermediate leads to the production of propanal which desorbs from the surface around 320 K, while hydrogenation of the η2(C, C) allyl alcohol intermediate produces 1-propanol, which desorbs at around 310 K. The co-adsorption of hydrogen atoms on the surface enhances the formation of the saturated alcohol, while co-adsorption of oxygen enhances the formation of both the saturated alcohol and the saturated aldehydes.  相似文献

Combustion of lunar regolith mixed with energetic additives is a potential method for production of construction materials in future moon missions. Recently, self-sustained combustion in the mixtures of JSC-1A lunar regolith and magnesium has been demonstrated. However, the concentration of magnesium in those mixtures was as high as 26 wt%. Note that magnesium must be either transported from Earth or recovered from lunar minerals or used structures. The present paper focuses on the minimization of magnesium content in JSC-1A/Mg mixtures. The mixtures were compacted into pellets and ignited in argon environment. Initial attempts to decrease magnesium concentration resulted in the observations of a spinning combustion wave at 23 wt% Mg. The observed spin combustion involved periodical motion of two counterpropagating hot spots along a helical path on the sample surface. These observations, including features such as formation of a faster hot spot after collision of the counterpropagating spots, confirm theoretical predictions for spin combustion in solid–solid mixtures. High-energy mechanical milling of JSC-1A in a planetary ball mill significantly increased its reactivity and improved combustion of its mixtures with magnesium. Mixtures of the obtained powder (the median diameter of about 3 μm) with 26 wt% Mg exhibit easy ignition and vigorous combustion. The minimum concentration of magnesium required for self-sustained propagation of a planar combustion front is as low as 13 wt%.  相似文献

Using transmission electron microscopy, the size‐dependent room temperature oxidation of tin nanoparticles is studied. The oxide that forms during room temperature oxidation of Sn particles is amorphous SnO, and it retains this stoichiometry and structure over extended time periods. From the investigation of arrays of Sn nanoparticles with broad size distribution, under identical conditions, the Sn oxide thickness is evaluated as a function of size and oxidation time. The oxide thickness depends strongly on the size of the Sn nanoparticles, which is in excellent agreement with predictions for a Mott–Cabrera model corrected for a non‐uniform electric field. The results demonstrate the accelerated oxidation kinetics of nanoscale particles with high curvature, due to the amplified electric field at the interface to a continuously shrinking metal core.  相似文献

We study a quantum-mechanical system of three particles in a one-dimensional box with two-particle harmonic interactions. The symmetry of the system is described by the point group D3dD3d. Group theory greatly facilitates the application of perturbation theory and the Rayleigh–Ritz variational method. A great advantage is that every irreducible representation can be treated separately. Group theory enables us to predict the connection between the states for the small box length and large box length regimes of the system. We discuss the crossings and avoided crossings of the energy levels as well as other interesting features of the spectrum of the system.  相似文献

A new sesquiterpene lactone, rufescenolide C (1), the first furanoheliangolide dimer, was isolated from the leaves of Piptocoma rufescens, collected in the Dominican Republic. Its structure was determined by interpretation of its spectroscopic data, with the absolute configuration being established by analysis of the CD spectrum. A plausible biogenesis of this dimer is proposed. This compound showed potent cytotoxicity with an IC50 value of 150 nM, when tested against HT-29 human colon cancer cells.  相似文献

In the course of a preliminary study to determine the preparative value and the synthetic applications of the non-heme iron(II) complexes Fe(bpmen)(OTf)2 and Fe(tpa)(OTf)2, in particular the oxidation of alkenes by using hydrogen peroxide as the terminal oxidant, we have found significant differences in catalyst behavior. After several attempts it was clear that the preparative relevance of the oxidation processes was linked to the concentration of the catalyst and optimal results were obtained when the concentration value was 5 mol %. At that concentration, the Fe(bpmen)(OTf)2 catalyst mostly gave rise to mixtures of the epoxide and the trans-dihydroxylation products formed by water-assisted hydrolytic cleavage of the epoxides. Furthermore, the use of the tripodal ligand tpa led to cis dihydroxylation products. When deactivated olefins were used as substrates for the oxidation reaction, the cis-diols were obtained exclusively, although with modest conversions, regardless of the catalyst used.  相似文献

Mid-infrared fiberoptics reflectance spectroscopy (mid-IR FORS) is a very interesting technique for artwork characterization purposes. However, the fact that the spectra obtained are a mixture of surface (specular) and volume (diffuse) reflection is a significant drawback. The physical and chemical features of the artwork surface may produce distortions in the spectra that hinder comparison with reference databases acquired in transmission mode. Several studies attempted to understand the influence of the different variables and propose procedures to improve the interpretation of the spectra. This article is focused on the application of mid-IR FORS and multivariate calibration to the analysis of easel paintings. The objectives are the evaluation of the influence of the surface roughness on the spectra, the influence of the matrix composition for the classification of unknown spectra, and the capability of obtaining pigment composition mappings. A first evaluation of a fast procedure for spectra management and pigment discrimination is discussed. The results demonstrate the capability of multivariate methods, principal component analysis (PCA), and partial least squares discrimination analysis (PLS-DA), to model the distortions of the reflectance spectra and to delimitate and discriminate areas of uniform composition. The roughness of the painting surface is found to be an important factor affecting the shape and relative intensity of the spectra. A mapping of the major pigments of a painting is possible using mid-IR FORS and PLS-DA when the calibration set is a palette that includes the potential pigments present in the artwork mixed with the appropriate binder and that shows the different paint textures.
