The heterobridged dinuclear complex cis,cis-[(bpy) 2Ru(mu-OCH 3)(mu-pyz)Ru(bpy) 2] (2+) ( 1; bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine; pyz = pyrazolate) was synthesized and isolated as a hexafluorophosphate salt. Its molecular structure was fully characterized by X-ray crystallography, (1)H NMR spectroscopy, and ESI mass spectrometry. The compound 1.(PF 6) 2 (C 44H 38F 12N 10OP 2Ru 2) crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2 1/ c with a = 13.3312(4) A, b = 22.5379(6) A, c = 17.2818(4) A, beta = 99.497(2) degrees , V = 5121.3(2) A (3), and Z = 4. The meso diastereoisomeric form was exclusively found in the crystal structure, although the NMR spectra clearly demonstrated the presence of two stereoisomers in solution (rac and meso forms at approximately 1:1 ratio). The electronic properties of the complex in acetonitrile were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and UV-vis and NIR-IR spectroelectrochemistries. The stepwise oxidation of the Ru (II)-Ru (II) complex into the mixed-valent Ru (II)-Ru (III) and fully oxidized Ru (III)-Ru (III) states is fully reversible on the time scale of the in situ (spectro)electrochemical measurements. The mixed-valent species displays strong electronic coupling, as evidenced by the large splitting between the redox potentials for the Ru(III)/Ru(II) couples (Delta E 1/2 = 0.62 V; K c = 3 x 10 (10)) and the appearance of an intervalence transfer (IT) band at 1490 nm that is intense, narrow, and independent of solvent. Whereas this salient band in the NIR region originates primarily from highest-energy of the three IT transitions predicted for Ru(II)-Ru(III) systems, a weaker absorption band corresponding to the lowest-energy IT transition was clearly evidenced in the IR region ( approximately 3200 cm (-1)). The observation of totally coalesced vibrational peaks in the 1400-1650 cm (-1) range for a set of five bpy spectator vibrations in Ru (II)-Ru (III) relative to Ru (II)-Ru (II) and Ru (III)-Ru (III) provided evidence for rapid electron transfer and valence averaging on the picosecond time scale. Other than a relatively short Ru...Ru distance (3.72 A for the crystalline Ru (II)-Ru (II) complex), the extensive communication between metal centers is attributed mostly to the pi-donor ability of the bridging ligands (pyz, OMe) combined with the pi-acceptor ability of the peripheral (bpy) ligands.  相似文献

Bacterial resistance to antibiotics, particularly to multiple drug resistant antibiotics, is becoming cause for significant concern. The only really viable course of action is to discover new antibiotics with novel mode of actions. Thiazolyl peptides are a class of natural products that are architecturally complex potent antibiotics but generally suffer from poor solubility and pharmaceutical properties. To discover new thiazolyl peptides potentially with better desired properties, we designed a highly specific assay with a pair of thiazomycin sensitive and resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus, which led to the discovery of philipimycin, a new thiazolyl peptide glycoside. It was isolated along with an acid-catalyzed degradation product by bioassay-guided fractionation. Structure of both compounds was elucidated by extensive application of 2D NMR, 1D TOCSY, and HRESIFT-MS/MS. Both compounds showed strong antibacterial activities against gram-positive bacteria including MRSA and exhibited MIC values ranging from 0.015 to 1 microg/mL. Philipimycin was significantly more potent than the degradation product. Both compounds showed selective inhibition of protein synthesis, indicating that they targeted the ribosome. Philipimycin was effective in vivo in a mouse model of S. aureus infection exhibiting an ED50 value of 8.4 mg/kg. The docking studies of philipimycin suggested that a part of the molecule interacts with the ribosome and another part with Pro23, Pro22, and Pro26 of L11 protein, which helped in explaining the differential of activities between the sensitive and resistant strains. The design and execution of the bioassay, the isolation, structure, in vitro and in vivo antibacterial activity, and docking studies of philipimycin and its degradation product are described.  相似文献

A specific, sensitive, precise, and accurate method for the determination of abscisic acid (ABA) in grapevine leaf tissues is described. The method employs high-performance liquid chromatography and electrospray ionization–mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-MS) in selected ion monitoring mode (SIM) to analyze ABA using a stable isotope-labeled ABA as an internal standard. Absolute recoveries ranged from 72% to 79% using methanol/water pH 5.5 (50:50 v/v) as an extraction solvent. The best efficiency was obtained when the chromatographic separation was carried out by using a porous graphitic carbon (PGC) column. The statistical evaluation of the method was satisfactory in the work range. A relative standard deviation (RDS) of < 5.5% and < 6.0% was obtained for intra-batch and inter-batch comparisons, respectively. As for accuracy, the relative error (%Er) was between −2.7 and 4.3%, and the relative recovery ranged from 95% to 107%.  相似文献

Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) Mill. is the Cactaceae plant with the greatest economic relevance in the world. It can be used for medicinal purposes, animal nutrition, production of biofuels and phytoremediation of soils. Due to its high content of bioactive compounds, the prickly pear has antioxidant, antimicrobial and anticancer properties. The aim of this study was to determine the polyphenolic, fatty acid and amino acid profile and characterize the antioxidant capacity of seeds of seven Spanish prickly pear cultivars. A total of 21 metabolites, mainly phenolic acids and flavonols, were identified using ultraperformance liquid chromatography photodiode detector quadrupole/time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UPLC-PDA-Q/TOF-MS). Significant differences were found in the phenolic concentrations of the investigated varieties. The highest amount of phenolic compounds (266.67 mg/kg dry matter) were found in the “Nopal espinoso” variety, while the “Fresa” variety was characterized by the lowest content (34.07 mg/kg DM) of these compounds. In vitro antioxidant capacity was positively correlated with the amount of polyphenols. The amino acid composition of protein contained in prickly pear seeds was influenced by the variety. Glutamic acid was the predominant amino acid followed by arginine, aspartic acid and leucine, independent of prickly pear variety. Overall, 13 different fatty acids were identified and assessed in prickly pear seeds. The dominant fatty acid was linoleic acid, with content varying between 57.72% “Nopal ovalado” and 63.11% “Nopal espinoso”.  相似文献

The extent of the selectivity obtained for the racemic receptor 2 and enantiomerically pure (S)-naproxen is 7.2:1. The preparation and X‐ray crystal structure analysis of {trans‐[Pt(MeNH2)2(9‐MeG‐N1)2]} ? {3 K2[Pt(CN)4]} ? 6 H2O ( 3 a ) (with 9‐MeG being the anion of 9‐methylguanine, 9‐MeGH) are reported. The title compound was obtained by treating [Pt(dien)(9‐MeGH‐N7)]2+ ( 1 ; dien=diethylenetriamine) with trans‐[Pt(MeNH2)2(H2O)2]2+ at pH 9.6, 60 °C, and subsequent removal of the [(dien)PtII] entities by treatment with an excess amount of KCN, which converts the latter to [Pt(CN)4]2?. Cocrystallization of K2[Pt(CN)4] with trans‐[Pt(MeNH2)2(9‐MeG‐N1)2] is a consequence of the increase in basicity of the guanine ligand following its deprotonation and Pt coordination at N1. This increase in basicity is reflected in the pKa values of trans‐[Pt(MeNH2)2(9‐MeGH‐N1)2]2+ (4.4±0.1 and 3.3±0.4). The crystal structure of 3 a reveals rare (N7,O6 chelate) and unconventional (N2,C2,N3) binding patterns of K+ to the guaninato ligands. DFT calculations confirm that K+ binding to the sugar edge of guanine for a N1‐platinated guanine anion is a realistic option, thus ruling against a simple packing effect in the solid‐state structure of 3 a . The linkage isomer of 3 a , trans‐[Pt(MeNH2)2(9‐MeG‐N7)2] ( 6 a ) has likewise been isolated, and its acid–base properties determined. Compound 6 a is more basic than 3 a by more than 4 log units. Binding of metal entities to the N7 positions of 9‐MeG in 3 a has been studied in detail for [(NH3)3PtII], trans‐[(NH3)2PtII], and [(en)PdII] (en=ethylenediamine) by using 1H NMR spectroscopy. Without exception, binding of the second metal takes place at N7, but formation of a molecular guanine square with trans‐[(Me2NH2)PtII] cross‐linking N1 positions and trans‐[(NH3)2PtII] cross‐linking N7 positions could not be confirmed unambiguously, despite the fact that calculations are fully consistent with its existence.  相似文献

Kinetic study of aqueous polymerization of ethyl acrylate (EA) is carried out at 30 °C in dilute sulphuric acid medium by employing ammonium ceric sulphate–methyl ethyl ketone (MEK) as redox initiator system. The ceric ion consumption is found to be first order with respect to ceric ion and half order with respect to reducing agent concentrations. No complex formation between ceric ion and reducing agent is observed. The orders with respect to ceric ion, reducing agent and monomer concentrations are evaluated for the aqueous polymerization of EA by Ce(IV)–MEK redox initiator system, and are found to be 0.5, 0.5 and 1.4, respectively . The overall activation energy, E overall, for aqueous polymerization of EA in the temperature region of 27–40°C is found to be 20.27 kJ/mol. A kinetic scheme for the aqueous polymerization of EA initiated by Ce(IV)–MEK redox initiator system is presented.This revised version was published online in June 2005 with corrections to figure legends as well as small corrections within text.  相似文献

A 23 full factorial experimental design was adopted to estimate the effects of three variables on the biodegradation of oil during soil bioremediation: bioaugmentation seeding a mixed culture, addition of fertilizer or mineral media, and correction of initial pH of the soil to 7.0. The tests were carried out in polyvinyl chloride reactors with 5.0 kg of crude oil-contaminated soil at 14 g/kg. After screening the variables, soil bioremediation tests were conduced with varied C:N ratios, yielding an increase in biodegradation of the oil heavy fraction from 24 to 65%, consumption of total n-paraffins, and a remarkable decrease in the concentration of residual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons of the soil.  相似文献

The synthesis, characterization, and some properties of new copolyesters analogous to poly(butylene terephthalate) (PBT), based on L ‐arabinaric and galactaric acids, are described. These copolyesters were obtained by polycondensation reaction in the melt of mixtures of methyl 2,3,4‐tri‐O‐methyl‐L ‐arabinarate or methyl 2,3,4,5‐tetra‐O‐methyl‐galactarate and dimethyl terephthalate with 1,4‐butanediol. Their weight‐average molecular weights ranged between 10,000 and 34,000, with polydispersities ranging from 1.4 to 2.2. The composition of all the copolymers was analyzed by NMR, and was found to have a statistical microstructure. All these copolyesters were thermally stable, with degradation temperatures well above 300 °C. The melting temperature and crystallinity decreased in both series, and the glass transition temperature increased and decreased respectively, for the PBTGa and PBTAr series with increasing amounts of aldaric units in the copolyester chain. Only PBT‐derived copolyesters containing a maximum of 30% aldaric units showed discrete scattering characteristic of crystalline material. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The objective of this study is to study the influence of de-inking paper sludge (DPS) and sewage sludge (SL) mixtures addition at different rates (2, 4 and 8%) in two soils. Incubation experiments were performed during 60 days and the influence of treatments in physical soil properties was determined by soil porosity and stability of aggregates. Differential thermal analysis (DTA) of amended soils after incubation was performed. Experimental results show that amendment increased biological soil activity, soil porosity and stability of aggregates. DTA analysis shows that the first exothermic peak generally increases with the dosage of DPS:SL due to the addition of immature organic matter. Moreover, the second peak enlarges probably due to the humification process during incubation.  相似文献
