Following the initial synthesis of the fuchsones1I, (α, η -diphenyl-1,4-benzoquinone methides), numerous substituted members of this series have been described by workers interested in triphenylmethane dyes. The low temperature fluorescence spectra (4.2 K) of solid solutions of p-difluorobenzene-h4 (pDFB-h4) and -d4 have been recorded and analyzed. The absence of fluorescence from vibrationally excited states at 4.2 K eliminates the sequence and “hot band” structure which complicate the analysis of the vapor fluorescence spectrum. On the basis of a comparison of our vibrational analysis with those published for the vapor phase fluorescence, several incorrect assignments in the latter have been identified. The high resolution and lack of spectral congestion obtained in the low temperature matrix isolated fluorescence spectra also allowed additional vibrational assignments to be made. These results are of added importance because of the extensive use which has been made of pDFB for radiationless relaxation studies in the vapor phase. The phosphorescence spectrum of crystalline pDFB-h4 was observed with sufficient intensity to locate the electronic origin to make several vibrational assignments. Additionally, the zero-field splitting of the first triplet excited state was measured by optically detected magnetic resonance techniques.  相似文献

A study of electrostatic spring softening for dual-axis micromirror   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
Electrostatic spring softening is an important characteristic of electrostatically actuated dual-axis micromirror, since it lowers the resonant frequencies. This paper presents an approach based on approximating the electrostatic forces by the first-order Taylor's series expansion to investigate this characteristic. The dual-axis micromirror studied in this paper has three motion modes, two torsional (about x- and y-axis, respectively) and one translational (about z-axis). The stiffnesses of all these modes are softened by a DC bias voltage applied to the mirror plate. The resonant frequencies are lowered with the increment of the bias voltage. The relationship of the bias voltage and the resonant frequencies of all the motion modes is derived. The analytical results show that the resonant frequency curves are affected by the capacitor geometries, i.e. the gap between the mirror plate and the electrodes and the electrodes size. The lowering curves drop slowly when the bias voltage is small. While for large bias voltage, the lowering curves drop rapidly. The experiment results are consistent with those obtained by the analytical approach.  相似文献

The γ-ray spectrum of 252Cf(sf) was measured in the Darmstadt-Heidelberg Crystal Ball spectrometer, with a double ionization chamber mounted inside to detect the fission fragments. The measurement was aimed at a better understanding of an unusual component found in the high-energy region between 3 and 8 MeV, with fragment mass splits near symmetry. This component was proved to be predominantly emitted by the heavier fragment, to reach its highest intensity at a fragment mass split of 132:120, and to have an almost isotropic angular distribution. Calculations with the statistical code CASCADE could reproduce the main features.  相似文献

We discuss calculations of probability distribution functions (PDF) representing uncertainties in projecting fatal cancer risk from galactic cosmic rays (GCR) and solar particle events (SPE). The PDFs are used in significance tests for evaluating the effectiveness of potential radiation shielding approaches. Uncertainties in risk coefficients determined from epidemiology data, dose and dose–rate reduction factors, quality factors, and physics models of radiation environments are considered in models of cancer risk PDFs. Competing mortality risks and functional correlations in radiation quality factor uncertainties are included in the calculations. We show that the cancer risk uncertainty, defined as the ratio of the upper value of 95% confidence interval (CI) to the point estimate is about 4-fold for lunar and Mars mission risk projections. For short-stay lunar missions (), SPEs present the most significant risk, however one that is mitigated effectively by shielding, especially for carbon composites structures with high hydrogen content. In contrast, for long duration lunar () or Mars missions, GCR risks may exceed radiation risk limits that are based on acceptable levels of risk. For example, the upper 95% CI exceeding 10% fatal risk for males and females on a Mars mission. For reducing GCR cancer risks, shielding materials are marginally effective because of the penetrating nature of GCR and secondary radiation produced in tissue by relativistic particles. At the present time, polyethylene or carbon composite shielding cannot be shown to significantly reduce risk compared to aluminum shielding based on a significance test that accounts for radiobiology uncertainties in GCR risk projection.  相似文献
