We study stress-wave propagation in an impulsively forced split Hopkinson bar system incorporating a threaded interface. We first consider only primary transmission and reflection and reduce the problem to a first-order, strongly nonlinear ordinary differential equation governing the displacement across the interface, called the primary-pulse model. The interface is modeled as an adjusted-Iwan element, which is characterized by matching experimental and numerical eigenfrequencies as well as primary pulse amplitudes. We find that the adjusted-Iwan element parameters are dependent on preload and impact velocity (input force). A high-order finite element model paired with the identified adjusted-Iwan element is used to simulate multiple transmissions and reflections across the interface. We find that the finite element simulation reproduces the experimental results in both the wavelet and Fourier domains, validating the identification method. Our findings demonstrate that the primary-pulse model can be used for experimental parameter identification of nonlinear interfaces in waveguides.  相似文献

Self-assembly pyrolytic routes to large arrays (<2.5 cm2) of aligned CNx nanotubes (15–80 nm OD and <100 μm in length) are presented. The method involves the thermolysis of ferrocene/melamine mixtures (5:95) at 900–1000 °C in the presence of Ar. Electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS) reveals that the N content varies from 2–10%, and can be bonded to C in two different fashions (double-bonded and triple-bonded nitrogen). The electronic densities of states (DOS) of these CNx nanotubes, using scanning tunneling spectroscopy (STS), are presented. The doped nanotubes exhibit strong features in the conduction band close to the Fermi level (0.18 eV). Using tight-binding and ab initio calculations, we confirm that pyridine-like (double-bonded) N is responsible for introducing donor states close to the Fermi Level. These electron-rich structures are the first example of n-type nanotubes. Finally, it will be shown that moderate electron irradiation at 700–800 °C is capable of coalescing single-walled nanotubes (SWNTs). The process has also been studied using tight-binding molecular dynamics (TBMD). Vacancies induce the coalescence via a zipper-like mechanism, which has also been observed experimentally. These vacancies trigger the organization of atoms on the tube lattices within adjacent tubes. These results pave the way to the fabrication of nanotube heterojunctions, robust composites, contacts, nanocircuits and strong 3D composites using N-doped tubes as well as SWNTs. In lattice QCD, the maximum entropy method can be used to reconstruct spectral functions from Euclidean correlators obtained in numerical simulations. We show that at finite temperature the most commonly used algorithm, employing Bryan's method, is inherently unstable at small energies and gives a modification that avoids this. We demonstrate this approach using the vector current-current correlator obtained in quenched QCD at finite temperature. Our first results indicate a small electrical conductivity above the deconfinement transition.  相似文献

One of the big issues in finite element solutions of wave propagation problems is the presence of spurious high-frequency oscillations that may lead to divergent results at mesh refinement. The paper deals with the extension of the new two-stage time-integration technique developed in our previous papers to the solution of wave propagation problems with explicit time-integration methods.The explicit central difference method is used for accurate time-integration of the semi-discrete system of elastodynamics at the stage of basic computations and allows spurious high-frequency oscillations. To filter these oscillations, pre- or/and post-processing (the filtering stage) is applied using a few time increments of the implicit time-continuous Galerkin method with large numerical dissipation.A special calibration procedure is used for the selection of the minimum necessary amount of numerical dissipation (in terms of a time increment) at the filtering stage. In contrast to existing approaches that use a time-integration method with the same dissipation (or artificial viscosity) for all time increments, the new technique yields accurate and non-oscillatory results for wave propagation problems without interaction between user and computer code. The solutions of 3-D wave propagation and impact problems show the effectiveness of the new approach.  相似文献

考虑长基线水平阵列波束形成对声场模态呈现的滤波特征,建立了一种随频率改变滤波通带的阵列权矢量设计方法。基于简正波理论,结合声场波束形成特点,在分析了常规波束形成信号LOFAR谱图干涉条纹的清晰度和条纹结构不同于单水听器输出信号条纹现象基础上,采用线性等式约束的二次优化模型,给出了一种频率自适应的最优权重估计。数值仿真验证和试验数据分析表明,利用该方法设计的最优权重阵列波束处理,可以滤波出SRBR(Surface-Reflected Bottom-Reflected)或N-SRBR(Non-Surface-Reflected Bottom-Reflected)模态组成的波束形成信号,信号谱图干涉条纹斜率与理论分析基本一致。  相似文献

A class of two-player, nonzero-sum, linear-quadratic differential games is investigated for Nash equilibrium solutions when both players use closed-loop control and when one or both of the players are required to use open-loop control. For three formulations of the game, necessary and sufficient conditions are obtained for a particular strategy set to be a Nash equilibrium strategy set. For a fourth formulation of the game, where both players use open-loop control, necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of a Nash equilibrium strategy set are developed.
