Metallogels form from Cu(II) ions and tetratopic ligand rctt-1,2-bis(3-pyridyl)-3,4-bis(4-pyridyl)cyclobutane. The tetrapyridyl cyclobutane has been synthesized in the organic solid state. The gel forms with a variety of counteranions and gels water. The hydrogel is thixotropic and is composed of nanoscale metal-organic particles (NMOPs), a high surface area of which likely accounts for the gelation of the polar aqueous medium. A shear stress profile of the thixotropic hydrogel gave a yield value of 8.33 Pa. A novel combination of atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning transmission X-ray microscopy (STXM) is used to assess the densities of individual NMOPs. A density of 1.37 g/cm(3) has been determined. A single-crystal X-ray diffraction study demonstrates the ability of the unsymmetrical cyclobutane 3,4'-tpcb to self-assemble with Cu(II) ions in [Cu(2)(hfac)(4)(3,4'-tpcb)](∞) (where hfac is hexafluoroacetylacetonate) to form a solvated 1D coordination polymer.  相似文献

Previous studies by Desiraju and co-workers have implicated the acidic hydrogen atoms of cubane as a support network for hydrogen bonding groups. Herein we report a detailed structural analysis of all currently available 1,4-disubstituted cubane structures with an emphasis on how the cubane scaffold interacts in its solid-state environment. In this regard, the interactions between the cubane hydrogen atoms and acids, ester, halogens, ethynyl, nitrogenous groups, and other cubane scaffolds were cataloged. The goal of this study was to investigate the potential of cubane as a substitute for phenyl. This could be achieved by analyzing all contacts that are directed by the cubane hydrogen atoms in the X-ray crystal structures. As a result, we have established several new cubane interaction profiles, such as the catemer formation seen in esters, the preferences of halogen–hydrogen contacts over direct halogen bonding, and the stabilizing effects caused by the cubane hydrogen atoms interacting with ethynyl groups. These interaction profiles can then be used as a guide for designing cubane bioisosteres of known materials and drugs containing phenyl moieties.  相似文献

Monitoring serum/plasma concentrations of lamotrigine may be useful under certain circumstances. An HPLC column packed with strong cation‐exchange (SCX)‐modified microparticulate silica together with a 100% methanol eluent containing an ionic modifier permits direct injection of sample extracts. An HPLC‐UV method developed using this principle for the measurement of serum/plasma lamotrigine is simple, sensitive and selective. The analysis time is less than 5 min. Intra‐ and inter‐assay precision and accuracy meet acceptance criteria, and sample stability, and potential interferences from other compounds have been evaluated. There was good agreement with consensus mean results from external quality assessment samples (n = 32). Analysis of patient samples (n = 115) using the HPLC method and the Seradyn QMS® Lamotrigine immunoassay showed that the immunoassay over‐estimated lamotrigine by 21% on average. Purified liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), a mixture of butane, isobutane, and propane, is commonly abused by inhalation. Little is known about the mammalian metabolism of these substances. Metabolism of other hydrocarbons, including n-hexane and cyclohexane, has been studied in vitro using a range of liver preparations, with metabolites analyzed by static headspace techniques. Solid-phase microextraction (SPME) for sampling metabolites in the headspace of incubates of volatile compounds with activated rat liver microsomes is investigated. Cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone were formed from cyclohexane and 1-, 2-, and 3-hexanol and 2-hexanone from n-hexane as predicted. Secondary alcohols are found for the other compounds studied, except for propene and isobutane, together with 2-propanone and 2-butanone from propane and n-butane, respectively. Samples from three individuals who died following LPG abuse contained a range of putative n-butane metabolites: n-butanol, 2-butanol, 2,3-butanediol, 3-hydroxy-2-butanone, and 2,3-butanedione. To our knowledge, the last three compounds have not been proposed as metabolites of n-butane in man. These might be produced through similar metabolic pathways to those of n-hexane and n-heptane. The findings indicate the value of SPME for investigating the metabolism of volatile substances and for detecting and monitoring exposure to these compounds.  相似文献

We present the first evidence of the decay B- --> tau- nu(tau), using 414 fb(-1) of data collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the Belle detector at the KEKB asymmetric-energy e+ e- collider. Events are tagged by fully reconstructing one of the B mesons in hadronic modes. We detect the signal with a significance of 3.5 standard deviations including systematics and measure the branching fraction to be B(B- --> tau- nu(tau)) = (1.79(-0.49) +0.56(stat)(-0.51) +0.46(syst)) x 10(-4). This implies that fB = 0.229(-0.031) +0.036(stat)(-0.037) +0.034(syst) GeV and is the first direct measurement of this quantity.  相似文献

A new RFQ ion-beam cooler and buncher, installed after the mass-separating magnet of the ion guide isotope separator, IGISOL, JYFL, has dramatically increased the scope of on-line laser spectroscopy at this facility. The device, operated in a bunching mode, has permitted new measurements on short-lived radionuclei in the Ti, Zr and Hf chains at a sensitivity two orders of magnitude greater than that previously achieved. The device has also opened new prospects for laser-based nuclear spectroscopy at the facility, particularly collinear resonance ionisation spectroscopy.
