Abstract Chlorofluorocarbons are man-made long lasting atmospheric pollutants of great environmental concern, responsible for important global change phenomena. Recently, they were replaced by hydrogenated halocarbons that, even if less persistent, do not lack in environmental impact. Atmospheric concentrations of these compounds were measured in Antarctica by gas chromatography. The extremely low atmospheric mixing ratios of these compounds require a pre-concentration step of the air sample on suitable adsorbent in order to meet the sensitivity of the analytical method Results obtained analyzing air samples collected in Antarctica since 1988 for the determination of CFC-12 and CFC-11 are reported, together with data concerning the less abundant species. 相似文献

We give sufficient conditions for local solutions to some fourth order semilinear ordinary differential equations to blow up in finite time with wide oscillations, a phenomenon not visible for lower order equations. The result is then applied to several classes of semilinear partial differential equations in order to characterize the blow up of solutions including, in particular, its applications to a suspension bridge model. We also give numerical results which describe this oscillating blow up and allow us to suggest several open problems and to formulate some related conjectures. 相似文献

New photosensitive materials can be obtained by electrochemical oxidation of thiocyanate and selenocyanate salts. Using (K,Na)SCN eutectic melt, the formation of an electrodic deposit, with photoelectrochemical properties, has already been reported by us. To improve the photoelectrochemical characteristics of the deposit, futher investigations were carried out in the following sistems: selenocyanate ammoniate, KSCH-Acetamide eutectic mixture and KSCN ethylene carbonate solution:. Attempts to obtain a massive deposit in the ammoniate solution were unsuccessful due to ammonia oxidation. Measurements performed on the other KSCN systems show that temperature is a parameter of remarkable importance. In fact, lowering the temperature one obtains a decrease on formation of parathiocyanogen on behalf of the polytrithiocyanogen, the species that gives rise to the photoeffect. 相似文献

We review some of the techniques that lead to the effective medium representation of a three-dimensional (3D) periodic metamaterial. We consider a 3D lattice of lead telluride cubic resonators at mid-infrared (MIR) frequencies. Each cubic resonator is modeled with both an electric and a magnetic dipole, through a method called the dual dipole approximation. The electric and magnetic polarizabilities of a cubic resonator are computed via full-wave simulations by mapping the resonator's scattered field under electric/magnetic excitation only to the field radiated by an equivalent electric/magnetic dipole. We then analyze the allowed modes in the lattice, with transverse polarization and complex wavenumber, highlighting the attenuation that each mode experiences after one free space wavelength. We observe the presence of two modes with low attenuation constant, dominant in different frequency ranges, able to propagate inside the lattice: this allows the treatment of the metamaterial as a homogeneous material with effective parameters, evaluated by using various techniques. We then show that the metamaterial under analysis allows for the generation of artificial magnetism (i.e., relative effective permeability different than unity, including negative permeability with low losses) at MIR frequencies. 相似文献

performed. A quasi-static approach was developed to estimate the perforation energy absorbed between the constituents of GLARE.
The analysis considered contact area increase during perforation and strain rate effect on material properties. Particular
attention was paid to the effect of ply-angle orientation and aluminium position. Predicted maximum impact force, maximum
displacement, and perforation energy related to impact velocity were within 10% of test results. Stacking composite plies
oriented along the diagonal of the plate with more than 2 aluminium layers leads to a more impact resistant FML. The generic

We prove that there are infinitely many of such constants of motion which control the Sobolev norms and which are analytic in a neighborhood of the origin of the Sobolev space with , both on and .
