Fourth order moments and their connection with other statistics, including second order moments, skewness and entropy, in stable boundary layers are investigated with a large eddy simulation model (LES), wind tunnel experiment data (WT) and measurements on a meteorological tower in an urban area (MT). The relationship between skewness and kurtosis has been studied through two formulae, whose coefficients are determined for the three data sets. Shannon entropy is analysed as an index of the turbulent flow organization in order to further understand the possible reason for the failure of the QN hypothesis. To quantify this relationship between Shannon entropy and kurtosis, a power function is proposed.  相似文献

The direct lyotropic polymorphism of dodecyltrimethylammonium chloride (DTAC) was investigated by synchrotron X-ray diffraction at different water concentrations under compression up to 2 kbar, i.e., in the pressure intermediate range where interesting biophysical transformations occur and the functional characteristics of cell membranes are altered. The results show that pressure induces the transition from the hexagonal phase to the micellar Pm3n cubic phase in hydrated samples (c between 0.5 and 0.6, c being the weight concentration of lipid in the mixture) and the transition from the bicontinuous Ia3d cubic phase to the hexagonal phase in drier samples (c = 0.8). By increasing the pressure on very dry samples, a lamellar L(alpha) phase was observed to form transitorily at the Ia3d cubic-hexagonal phase transition. Phase compressibility and then the lipid and water partial molecular compressibilities were derived as a function of pressure and concentration. As a result, we assessed the very low compressibility of the hydration water within the lipid phases, and we demonstrated that the compressibility of DTAC is very dependent on pressure. Moreover, the molecular parameters of DTAC calculated in the different phases during compression confirmed that pressure induces small but continuous conformational changes, definitely different from the large changes observed in lipid molecules forming type II structures.  相似文献

We have developed simple methods that provide a rapid entry into the synthesis of a series of quinate and shikimate analogues, including (-)-methyl 4-epi-shikimate and the 4,5-epoxy analogues of the parent acids. Epoxy derivatives of quinic and shikimic acids were converted into methyl scyllo-quinate and (+)-methyl 3-epi-shikimate, respectively, by processes involving a regio- and stereoselective epoxide ring opening. The strategies described take place through short, high-yield reaction sequences.  相似文献

An efficient and high yield protocol for the synthesis and separation of 3'- and/or 5'-protected alpha-2'-deoxynucleosides has been developed through regioselective acylation/deacylation processes catalyzed by enzymes. Pseudomonas cepacia lipase (PSL-C) was found to be highly chemo- and regioselective toward the 3'-position of the beta-2'-deoxynucleoside derivatives, whereas PSL-C displayed opposite selectivity toward the 5'-position for the corresponding alpha-anomer. The successful application of this protocol was demonstrated by a convenient separation of an alpha/beta-mixture of thymidine derivatives from an industrial waste stream. Furthermore, this technique was also applied for the separation of an anomeric mixture of 2'-deoxy-2'-fluoro-alpha/beta-arabinonucleosides that are useful building blocks for the antisense constructs.  相似文献

The effect of UVB radiation (UVBR, 290-320 nm) on the dynamics of the lower levels of the marine plankton community was modeled. The model was built using differential equations and shows a good fit to experimental data collected in mesocosms (defined as large enclosures of 1500 L filled with natural marine waters). Some unexpected results appear to be possible by indirect effects in prey (bacteria, phytoplankton and heterotrophic flagellates). In particular, apparent competition appears between small phytoplankton and bacteria. This effect is caused by a shared predator (ciliates). Another remarkable effect is an increase in bacteria and flagellates populations due to enhanced UVBR. This effect is similar to that observed under mesocosm experimental conditions and is related to the decrease of predation due to the direct damage to predators (ciliates) by UVBR. The effect of UVBR changing interaction coefficients may be dramatic on the community structure, producing big changes in equilibrium populations, as demonstrated by sensitivity analysis of the model. In order to generalize these results to field conditions it will be necessary to increase model complexity and include extra organic mater sources, mixing and sinking effects and predation by large zooplankton. This work shows that UVBR may produce community global responses that are consequence of both direct and indirect effects among populations.  相似文献

The results of the analyses of elemental composition of red and black pigments of Levantine rock art from La Saltadora rock shelters (Valltorta gorge, Castellón, Spain) are presented in this paper. Nondestructive analyses were carried out using a portable energy dispersive X‐ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer developed for in situ analysis. The results revealed the strong presence of calcium in all the analyzed locations due to the contribution of the underlying calcareous bedrock and the overlying crust. Iron is the main element detected in red pigments and manganese in black pigments. Iron and calcium ratios have been found indicative of the degree of preservation of the pictorial layer. Trace elements detected in the pigment composition confirm the use of different raw materials. Therefore, this work illustrates the potential of the portable EDXRF spectrometers for in situ analysis of rock art paintings. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The COMPASS experiment at the CERN SPS complex is planning for the year 2004 its first run with a hadron beam. Two physics subjects will be addressed: the study of pion polarizabilities by means of the Primakoff scattering, and the study of diffractively producedηπ ?-systems. The analysis of η-meson production is related to the search of hybrid mesons, of which no conclusive evidence exists so far.The concept of the Primakoff and diffractive trigger systems and the proposed modifications to the COMPASS muon setup are described in detail. The estimate of event rates for the two measurements shows that COMPASS can provide a statistical accuracy significantly higher than existing data from other experiments.  相似文献

The production of nitrogen and carbon fragments in the reactions induced by16O on144Sm and154Sm targets was studied at two bombarding energies (65 MeV and 72 MeV) around the interaction barrier. The measured angular distributions exhibit the characteristic behaviour of direct transfer reactions, and theQ-value spectra are typically centered at the values predicted by kinematic selectivity. The comparison between fusion and charged-particle transfer cross sections shows that whereas fusion is the most important process at the highest bombarding energy, transfer reactions become comparable or even dominant (as in the144Sm case) at near-barrier energies. The different transfer probabilities observed for the two systems are analyzed in terms of nuclear deformation.  相似文献

Data obtained in the study of the antiproton interaction on4He, Ne and photographic emulsion nuclei are reported. Charged prong multiplicities, branching ratios and reaction cross-section values are given. Some features of¯p annihilation deep inside the nuclear matter are described.
