Hydrogenated amorphous silicon (a-Si:H) thin films have been considered for use in solar cell applications because of their
significantly reduced cost compared to crystalline bulk silicon. However, their overall efficiency and stability are lower
than that of their bulk crystalline counterpart. Limited work has been performed on simultaneously solving the efficiency
and stability issues of a-Si:H. Previous work has shown that surface texturing and crystallization on a-Si:H thin film can
be achieved through a single-step laser processing, which can potentially alleviate the disadvantages of a-Si:H in solar cell
applications. In this study, hydrogenated and dehydrogenated amorphous silicon thin films deposited on glass substrates were
irradiated by KrF excimer laser pulses and the effect of hydrogen on surface morphologies and microstructures is discussed.
Sharp spikes are focused only on hydrogenated films, and the large-grained and fine-grained regions caused by two crystallization
processes are also induced by presence of hydrogen. Enhanced light absorptance is observed due to light trapping based on
surface geometry changes of a-Si:H films, while the formation of a mixture of nanocrystalline silicon and original amorphous
silicon after crystallization suggests that the overall material stability can potentially improve. The relationship between
crystallinity, fluence and number of pulses is also investigated. Furthermore, a step-by-step crystallization process is introduced
to prevent the hydrogen from diffusing out in order to reduce the defect density, and the relationship between residue hydrogen
concentration, fluence and step width is discussed. Finally, the combined effects show that the single-step process of surface
texturing and step-by-step crystallization induced by excimer laser processing are promising for a-Si:H thin-film solar cell

A. Kostelecky et al. [Phys. Rev. Lett. 100 (2008) 111102], have shown that there is an exceptional sensitivity of spacetime torsion components by coupling it to fermions and constraining it to Lorentz violation. They obtain new constraints on torsion components down to the level of 10−31 GeV. Yet more recently, L.C. Garcia de Andrade [Phys. Lett. B 468 (2011) 28] has shown that the photon sector of Lorentz violation (LV) Lagrangian leads to linear non-standard Maxwell equations where the magnetic field decays slower giving rise to a seed for galactic dynamos. In this paper bounds are placed on torsion based on the magnetogenesis or the origin of magnetic fields in the universe. On a coherence scale of 10 kpc, galactic magnetic fields of the order of some μG yield a torsion primordial field of the order of K0≈10−48 GeV. Just to give an idea of how tiny it is we mention that torsion limit in the Early universe yield K0≈10−31 GeV had been obtained by V. de Sabbata and C. Sivaram. Good limits were also obtained by B.R. Heckel et al. [Phys. Rev. D 78 (2008) 092006]. In our case the advantage from astro-particle physics point of view, is that a very small seed torsion field is enough to seed galactic dynamo. C. Sivaram limit is obtained from a massive photon electrodynamics [L.C. Garcia de Andrade, C. Sivaram, Ap. Space Sci. 209 (1993) 109] where a gauge invariant electrodynamics is used. Dynamo stars data are able to raise this value of torsion up to 10−34 GeV at magnetar atmosphere. From these estimates one notices that they coincide with the ones obtained by A. Kostelecky et al., the difference being basically in the method. The ones here were obtained from magnetogenesis data while theirs were obtained from the Earth laboratory data from polarised electrons. Besides here one used the torsion derivatives while A. Kostelecky et al. uses the constant axial torsion tensor. Another fundamental distinction is that we use bosonic sector of the Lagrangian while they use mainly fermionic sector coupling with torsion. 相似文献

Generalizing the quantifiers used to classify correlations in bipartite systems, we define genuine total, quantum, and classical correlations in multipartite systems. The measure we give is based on the use of relative entropy to quantify the distance between two density matrices. Motivated by the recent advances with magnetic nanoparticles, in this research we propose a new technique for their characterization based on the measurement of certain polarimetric parameters of the scattered light, such as the linear polarization degree when it is determined at a "right-angle" scattering configuration. Surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) is an extremely powerful tool for the analysis of the composition of bimetallic nanoparticle (BNP) surfaces because of the different adsorption schemes adopted by several molecules on different metals, such as Au and Ag. The preparation of BNPs normally implies a change in the plasmonic properties of the core metal. However, for technological applications it could be interesting to synthesize core–shell structures preserving these original plasmonic properties. In this work, we present a facile method for coating colloidal gold nanoparticles (NPs) in solution with a very thin shell of silver. The resulting bimetallic Au@Ag system maintains the optical properties of gold but shows the chemical surface affinity of silver. The effectiveness of the coating method, as well as the progressive silver enrichment of the outermost part of the Au NPs, has been monitored through the SERS spectra of several species (chloride, luteolin, thiophenol and lucigenin), which show different behaviors on gold and silver surfaces. A growth mechanism of the Ag shell is proposed on the basis of the spectroscopic and microscopic data consisting in the formation and deposit of Ag clusters on the Au NP surface. Low-lying collective excitations above highly correlated ground states of few interacting electrons confined in GaAs semiconductor quantum dots are probed by resonant inelastic light scattering. We highlight that separate studies of the changes in the spin and charge degrees of freedom offer unique access to the fundamental interactions. The case of quantum dots with four electrons is found to be determined by a competition between triplet and singlet ground states that is uncovered in the rich light scattering spectra of spin excitations. These light scattering results are described within a configuration-interaction framework that captures the role of electron correlation with quantitative accuracy. Recent light scattering results that reveal the impact of anisotropic confining potentials in laterally coupled quantum dots are also reviewed. In these studies, inelastic light scattering methods emerge as powerful probes of collective phenomena and spin configurations in quantum dots with few electrons. 相似文献

We show how to simulate the equatorial section of the Schwarzschild metric through a flowing liquid crystal in its nematic
phase. Inside a liquid crystal in the nematic phase, a traveling light ray feels an effective metric, whose properties are
linked to perpendicular and parallel refractive indexes, n
o
and n
e
respectively, of the rod-like molecule of the liquid crystal. As these indexes depend on the scalar order parameter of the
liquid crystal, the Beris-Edwards hydrodynamic theory is used to connect the order parameter with the velocity of a liquid
crystal flow at each point. This way we calculate a radial velocity profile that simulates the equatorial section of the Schwarzschild
metric, in the region outside of Schwarzschild’s radius, in the nematic phase of the liquid crystal. In our model, the higher
flow velocity can be on the order of some meters per second. 相似文献
