Coulomb blockade anisotropic magnetoresistance effect in a (Ga,Mn)As single-electron transistor

We observe low-field hysteretic magnetoresistance in a (Ga,Mn)As single-electron transistor which can exceed 3 orders of magnitude. The sign and size of the magnetoresistance signal are controlled by the gate voltage. Experimental data are interpreted in terms of electrochemical shifts associated with magnetization rotations. This Coulomb blockade anisotropic magnetoresistance is distinct from previously observed anisotropic magnetoresistance effects as it occurs when the anisotropy in a band structure derived parameter is comparable to an independent scale, the single-electron charging energy. Effective kinetic-exchange model calculations in (Ga,Mn)As show chemical potential anisotropies consistent with experiment and ab initio calculations in transition metal systems suggest that this generic effect persists to high temperatures in metal ferromagnets with strong spin-orbit coupling.     

In-plane ferromagnetism in charge-ordering Na0.55CoO2

The magnetic and transport properties are systematically studied on the single crystal Na(0.55)CoO2 with the resistivity divergence below 50 K. A weak ferromagnetic ordering is observed in susceptibility below 20 K with the magnetic field parallel to the Co-O plane, while no such ferromagnetic ordering is observed with the field perpendicular to the Co-O plane. It gives evidence for the existence of in-plane ferromagnetism below 20 K. The observed magnetoresistance of 30% at the field of 6 T at low temperatures indicates an unexpectedly strong spin-charge coupling in the triangle lattice NaxCoO2 system.

A novel X-ray imaging system (NXRIS) and the design principles are given in this paper. Different from the existing digital X-ray imaging systems, the X-ray image intensifying system of NXRIS is a non-vacuum system composed of the intensifying screen and the brightness intensifier, and the brightness intensifier is named low light level image intensifier applied in military affairs. This structure makes NXRIS of big visual field (15 inch, even to larger) and low cost. When designing NXRIS, the spectral compatibility of the component devices and the relation between the visual field and the spatial resolution of the component devices are analyzed. The images produced by NXRIS are given and the image performance is good enough to be applied to security checking, non-destructive testing, and industry detection.     

Plasma-induced spatiotemporal modulation of propagating femtosecond pulses

The dynamics of the femtosecond pulse propagation in a plasma channel is investigated by the pumpprobe longitudinal diffractometry and second harmonic generation frequency-resolved optical gating (SHGFROG) technique. The spatial characteristics, corresponding to the electronic density and the size of the channel, can be observed by the recorded ring pattern, and the spectral and temporal characteristics are recorded by the SHG-FROG traces. The spatiotemporal characteristics will help us to better understand the dynamics of the plasma induced by the femtosecond pulse and the femtosecond pulse propagating in the plasma channel.     

Littlest Higgs Model and Higgs Boson Associated Production with Top Quark Pair at High Energy Linear e+e- Collider

In the parameter space allowed by the electroweak precision measurement data, we consider the contributions of the new particles predicted by the littlest Higgs model to the Higgs boson associated production with top quark pair in the future high energy linear e⁺e^- collider (ILC). We find that the contributions mainly come from the new gauge bosons Z_H and B_H. For reasonable values of the free parameters, the absolute value of the relative correction parameter δσ/σ^SM can be significanly large, which might be observed in the future ILC experiment with √{S}=800 GeV.     

Molecular dynamics study of ice structural evolution

Molecular dynamics simulation is employed to study the structural evolution of low density amorphous ice during its compression from one atmosphere to 2.5 GPa. Calculated results show that high density amorphous ice is formed at an intermediate pressure of -1.0 GPa; the O-O-O bond angle ranges from 83° to 113°, and the O-H… O bond is bent from 112° to 160°. Very high density amorphous ice is obtained by quenching to 80 K and decompressing the ice to ambient pressure from 160 K/1.3 GPa or 160 K/1.7 GPa; and the next-nearest O-O length is found to be 0.310 nm, just 0.035 nm beyond the nearest O-O distance of 0.275 nm.     

Controlling bifurcations and chaos in discrete small-world networks

We propose an impulsive hybrid control method to control the period-doubling bifurcations and stabilize unstable periodic orbits embedded in a chaotic attractor of a small-world network. Simulation results show that the bifurcations can be delayed or completely eliminated. A periodic orbit of the system can be controlled to any desired periodic orbit by using this method.     

针孔辅助点投影诊断方法实验研究

针孔辅助点投影背光成像是近几年国外新兴的等离子体诊断技术,在惯性约束聚变相关物理实验诊断中具有重要的应用前景.为验证这一诊断方法的实用性,在神光Ⅱ第九路平台上开展了演示实验.利用激光驱动平面Ti靶获得约4.7 keV的Ti K壳层X射线,在十几微米的针孔约束下作为次级点源并对Au栅格样品投影成像,并用CCD记录.实验成功获得了清晰的样品二维空间分辨的时间积分图像,空间分辨力优于16.1 μm.实验结果表明针孔辅助点投影具有较高的空间分辨力、较大的视场、较高的图像对比度,将成为瑞利泰勒不稳定性研究、激光状态方程研究等物理实验的重要诊断方法之一.     

A periodically poled LiNbO3 optical parametric generator in wavelength conversion from 2 to 3.88-4.34 μm

A periodically poled lithium niobate (PPLN) optical parametric generator (OPG) pumped by a laser diode (LD)-pumped Q-switched Tm,Ho:GdVO4 laser operated at 2.048 μm with pump pulse of 25 ns and repetition rate of 10 kHz is reported.
