There is not a wide consensus on the role played by the icosahedral short range order on the stability of undercooled simple metals. The scenario is even less clear for undercooled metals under external pressure. Classical molecular dynamics simulations are performed to explain experimental results recently obtained on liquid and undercooled liquid copper under pressure. The atomic configurations are characterized by a common neighbor analysis to reveal the icosahedral short range order and its relation with external pressure. External pressure increases the probability to find atomic bonds with icosahedral symmetry both in the liquid and in the undercooled copper.  相似文献

The aim of this review is to provide a general overview on the analytical methods proposed in the last decade for trace fluoroquinolone (FQ) determination in environmental waters. A large number of studies have been developed on this topic in reason of the importance of their monitoring in the studies of environmental mobility and potential degradation pathways. Every step of the analysis has been carefully considered, with a particular attention to sample preparation, in relationship with the problems involved in the analysis of real matrices. The different strategies to minimise interference from organic matter and to achieve optimal sensitivity, especially important in those samples with lower FQ concentrations, were also highlighted. Results and progress in this field have been described and critically commented. Moreover, a worldwide overview on the presence of FQs in the environmental waters has been reported.  相似文献

We investigated the self‐aggregation of 12 short ionic oligopeptides constituted by 4–7 amino acid residues to establish useful structure–property relationships that might be exploited in the biomedical field by using the concept of molecular Lego. We show that the critical aggregation concentration (CAC) of tetrapeptides decreases with increasing hydrophobicity of neutral residues. Additionally, the dependence of the CAC of isomeric oligopeptides on the distribution of amino acid residues confirms the high tendency to self‐organization of molecules with alternating ionic and neutral residues. Indeed, atomic force microscopy (AFM) images recorded on oligopeptide solutions above the CAC show the presence of either fibrillar or spherical aggregates depending on oligopeptide structure and concentration, steric hindrance, solution pH, and time. The potential of the investigated oligopeptides in tissue engineering applications is supported by their in vitro cytocompatibility. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. This study describes the characterization of the glycan moieties and the peptide backbone of six glycoforms of IB-8a CON1(+), a basic proline-rich protein present in human saliva. MS analyses on the intact glycoproteins before and after N-deglycosylation with PNGase F and high-resolution MS/MS sequencing by LTQ Orbitrap XL of peptides and glycopeptides from tryptic digests allowed the structural characterization of the glycan moieties and the polypeptide backbone, as well as to establish the glycosylation site at the asparagine residue at 98th position. Five of the glycoforms carry a biantennary N-linked glycan fucosylated in the innermost N-acetylglucosamine of the core and showing from zero to four additional fucoses in the antennal region. The sixth glycoform carries a monoantennary monofucosylated oligosaccharide. The glycoform cluster was detected on 28 of 71 adult saliva specimens. Level of fucosylation showed interindividual variability with the major relative abundance for the trifucosylated glycoform. Nonglycosylated IB-8a CON1(+) and the variant IB-8a CON1(-), lacking of the glycosylation site, have been also detected in human saliva.  相似文献

The general properties of dendrimers and in particular their electrolytic characteristics that are relevant in electrokinetic separations, are described. In order to confirm theoretical considerations on commercial dendrimer charge and hydrodynamic radius, several capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) experiments were performed. Electrophoretic mobilities measured at different pH values indicated a sensible increase of dendrimer hydrodynamic radius at pH values lower than 2.5. This was probably due to the Coulombic repulsion of charged amine groups of the inner dendrimer shells. The principal reasons that should address the use of dendrimers as pseudostationary phases in micellar electrokinetic chromatography (MEKC) are discussed. Moreover, a survey of different separations performed utilizing dendrimers in MEKC as well as of several future plausible uses of various classes of dendrimers is presented.  相似文献

Blends and composites based on environmentally degradable-ecocompatible synthetic and natural polymeric materials and fillers of natural origin have been prepared and processed under different conditions. Poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) was used as the synthetic polymer of choice by virtue of its capability to be processed from water solution or suspension as well as from the melt by blow extrusion and injection molding. Starch and gelatin were taken as the polymeric materials from renewable resources. The fillers were all of natural origin, as waste from food and agro-industry consisted of sugar cane bagasse (SCB), wheat flour (WF), orange peels (OR), apple peels (AP), corn fibres (CF), saw dust (SD) and wheat straw (WS). All the natural or hybrid formulations were intended to be utilized for the production of: a) Environmentally degradable mulching films (hydro-biomulching) displaying, in some cases, self-fertilizing characteristics by in situ spraying of water solutions or suspensions; b) Laminates and containers to be used in agriculture and food packaging by compression and injection molding followed by baking. Some typical prototype items have been prepared and characterized in relation to their morphological and mechanical properties and tested with different methodology for their propensity to environmental degradation and biodegradation as ultimate stage of their service life. A relationship between chemical composition and mechanical properties and propensity to biodegradation has been discussed in a few representative cases.  相似文献

Title compounds bearing substituents on C(2), C(6) and C(8) were prepared from a newly synthesized pyrimidine derivative 11. The new pyrimidine 11 was generated from compound 2 through two different synthetic schemes. In one pathway, compound 2 was nitrosated, reduced and alkylated to produce com pounds 9 , 10 and 11 respectively (Scheme). In an alternate route using compound 2 as the starting material, a coupling reaction using the diazonium salt derived from p‐methylaniline afforded the azo derivative 7 , which was subsequently alkylated and reductively cleaved to form compounds 8 and 11 respectively (See Scheme). Compound 11 was annulated to the corresponding hypoxanthine derivatives 12–14 ; compounds 12 and 13 were chlorinated with phosphorus oxychloride, then reacted with amines to yield compound 17 and 20 respectively. Compounds 21 , 22 and 23 were obtained by oxidation of the corresponding sulfide as depicted in Scheme. Alkylation of the thiol function of 1 gave a mixture of 3 and 4. Compound 3 was chlo rinated to 5. Nitration of 5 resulted in electrophilic aromatic substitution of the aryl ring and concomitant oxidation of the sulfide to the sulfoxide, producing 6.  相似文献

Styrene–divinylbenzene resins were used for the synthesis of different polymer-bound β-diketones, obtained by anchoring the chelating group through either the central or the lateral position. The heterogenized diketone ligand was subsequently reacted with Ni(COD)2 analogously to the corresponding homogeneous catalysts active in α-olefin oligomerization. The heterogenized catalysts showed a good activity only when the central position of the chelate moiety was free. Heterogenization caused a significant change of selectivity: olefin oligomerization was accompanied by the formation of a large amount of polymeric products. This behavior is discussed in terms of steric effects caused by the bulky polymeric ligand. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Caged xenon has great potential in overcoming sensitivity limitations for solution‐state NMR detection of dilute molecules. However, no application of such a system as a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) contrast agent has yet been performed with live cells. We demonstrate MRI localization of cells labeled with caged xenon in a packed‐bed bioreactor working under perfusion with hyperpolarized‐xenon‐saturated medium. Xenon hosts enable NMR/MRI experiments with switchable contrast and selectivity for cell‐associated versus unbound cages. We present MR images with 103‐fold sensitivity enhancement for cell‐internalized, dual‐mode (fluorescence/MRI) xenon hosts at low micromolar concentrations. Our results illustrate the capability of functionalized xenon to act as a highly sensitive cell tracer for MRI detection even without signal averaging. The method will bridge the challenging gap for translation to in vivo studies for the optimization of targeted biosensors and their multiplexing applications.  相似文献
