AbstractThe synthesis and structure of thiacalix[4]monocrowns in 1,3-alternate configuration substituted by terpyridyl fragments on the lower rim are being discussed. It has been shown that the number of oxyethylene units in oligoethylene glycol chain affects the distribution of the yields of the cross-linking products leading to either thiacalix[4]monocrowns or bisthiacalix[4]arenes. Their complexation ability towards alkali metal and lanthanide ions has been studied using liquid extraction and MALDI TOF MS, in addition to luminescent properties of ligands and their lanthanide complexes. The NMR titration data discovered the participation of both crown ether and terpyridyl fragment in the coordination of lanthanide cations. The fluorescent titration showed the nonlinear emission response to the amount of lanthanide ions. 相似文献

The phase behavior of monofunctional acrylate and low molecular weight nematic liquid crystals (LC) is considered. Systems involving the monomeric 2-ethylhexylacrylate (2-EHA), the eutectic LC mixture known as E7 and the 4-cyano-4′-n-pentyl-biphenyl (5CB) are investigated. A similar investigation is performed on mixtures involving a polymer poly-2-EHA with molecular weight Mw=48,000 g/mol and both LCs. The experimental phase diagrams are established using polarized optical microscopy and analyzed using a theoretical formalism which combines the Flory-Huggins theory of isotropic mixing and the Maier-Saupe theory of nematic order. The results lead to characterization of the miscibility of E7 and 5CB with monomeric and analogous polymeric 2-EHA systems. 相似文献

The photoproduction of vector mesons on various nuclei has been studied using the CLAS detector at Jefferson Laboratory. The vector mesons, rho, omega, and varphi, are observed via their decay to e;{+}e;{-}, in order to reduce the effects of final-state interactions in the nucleus. Of particular interest are possible in-medium effects on the properties of the rho meson. The rho mass spectrum is extracted from the data on various nuclei, 2H, C, Fe, and Ti. We observe no significant mass shift and some broadening consistent with expected collisional broadening for the rho meson. 相似文献

Enthalpies of mixing of (R)- and (S)-enantiomers of liquid chiral compounds such as heptane-2-ol, octane-2-ol, nonane-2-ol, 3-chloro-propane-1,2-diol and 2-methyl-1,4-butanediol have been measured over a range of mole fractions at 298.15 K, albeit very small values. Mixing of heterochiral liquids of heptane-2-ol, octane-2-ol, nonane-2-ol, 3-chloro-propane-1,2-diol, realized enthalpic destabilization over the whole range of mole fractions, whereas that of 2-methyl-1,4-butanediol realized enthalpic stabilization over entire compositions. The maximum values of enthalpies of mixing and the intermolecular interaction of cohesive energy density and entropy of vaporization showed a linear correlation except for the compounds having two chiral centers and others. 相似文献

Groundwater is the second most abundant water resource in Egypt, 2/3 of which is consumed within the Nile Delta Region and the valley. However, with recent intensification of agricultural and urbanizing activities over the past 40 years, the water quality in the Nile basin aquifer has significantly deteriorated. The objective of this study is to survey the variation in the groundwater quality tapped within a typical Egyptian village located in the valley, north of Cairo, from January until April 2000. Results revealed that locations close to agricultural lands reflected an increase in the TDS, ammonia, nitrates, chlorides and sulfates contents as a implication of vertical and side infiltration of multiple pollutants. In addition, locations within residential quarters recorded significant BOD and COD concentrations, reflecting a significant organic matter intrusion at these wells. Multivariate analysis for the January data indicated that agricultural activities had a greater impact on these waters causing an overall increase in TDS and EC contents. However, with the increase in Nile surface water flow during April, there was an increase in fresh water infiltration within this area, which helped to reduce the TDS, EC and other inherent ionic constituents of these waters. 相似文献

The experimental equilibrium phase diagram of mixtures of linear poly(n-butyl acrylate) of molecular mass Mw = 112000 g mol-1 and the low molecular mass LC mixture E7 has been established using polarized optical microscopy and light scattering techniques. The diagram is found to be reminiscent of an upper critical solution temperature system. Two independent series of samples with the same composition were studied, yielding consistent results. A region of nematic and isotropic coexisting phases and a region of a single isotropic phase were identified in the composition-temperature phase diagram. The results were analysed within a theoretical model combining the Flory-Huggins lattice theory for isotropic mixing and the Maier-Saupe theory for nematic ordering. Interestingly, no region of isotropic coexisting phases was observed in our experiments. This is probably due to the fact that the nematic interaction overwhelms the isotropic interaction in the region where (I + I) coexisting phases could appear. A preferential solubility of certain constituents of the LC mixture in the polymer could possibly be a reason for this behaviour. 相似文献

Solid–liquid equilibria (SLE) of N,N,N′,N′-tetramethylethylenediamine, 1,4-dimethylpiperazine and N,N-dimethylaniline+n-heptane or cyclohexane mixtures were measured by a static method. It was found that all systems are simple eutectic systems. Group contribution models have proved fairly successful in predicting SLE, however, the presence of intramolecular effects (ring effect, proximity effect) renders the widely used empirical methods quite inaccurate. However, in this work, the experimental phase diagrams compared satisfactorily with group contribution models (DISQUAC) and also modified UNIFAC (Dortmund version) predictions. 相似文献

An exploratory study of the synthesis of vanadium (oxy)fluorides (VOFs) using ionic liquids (ILs) and deep eutectic mixtures (DESs) as a solvent yielded 10 different materials. The previously reported chain type: (NH(4))(2)VF(5) (1), (NH(4))(2)VOF(4) (2), NH(4)VO(3) (3) and (H(2)NH(2)(CH(2))(2)NH(2))VF(5) (9) have been successfully produced for the first time using ILs as the reaction media. The monomeric (HNH(2)CH(3))(2)VOF(4)(H(2)O) (4), the dimer (HNH(2)CH(3))(4)V(2)O(2)F(8) (5) and the 1D chains (HNH(2)CH(3))(2)VF(5) (6), (H(2)O)(2)VF(3) (7), α-(H(2)NH(2)(CH(2))(2)NH(2))VOF(4) (8) and β-(H(2)NH(2)(CH(2))(2)NH(2))VOF(4) (10) are novel materials. Template control has also been achieved by the selective choice of ILs or the appropriate deep eutectic mixture, where the expected template is delivered to the reaction by the partial breakdown of the urea derivative portion of the DES. 相似文献
